Time of Reading 10:35 to 10:55 A. M. Eastern Daylight Standard Time.
1. GC: You will go over this body carefully, examine it thoroughly, and tell me the conditions you find at the present time; giving the cause of the existing conditions, also suggestions for help and relief of this body. You will answer the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [619]; this we have had before.
3. As we find, there are many changes in the general conditions of the body since last we had same here.
4. In the main, conditions are very good.
5. There are inclinations and tendencies which should be taken into consideration; as general conditions and the general welfare of the body physically and mentally should be kept in accord with those purposes, those desires and activities of the body.
6. These, then, are the conditions as we find them in the present with this body, [619] we are speaking of, present in this room:
7. In the blood supply of the body we find there are the tendencies for a slowing of the circulation through portions of the body. This indicates some disturbance with the general metabolism of the body; that is, there are periods when there is a faster circulation through the central blood supply, or the flowing from the heart, than in the flowing to the heart. From the circulation in liver, in lungs, in heart, this tends to cause a filling of the thrombose - or the connections between the heart, the liver and the lungs become at times engorged. This, as it does in the present, might become such as to alter and variate the blood pressure in the heart, the lungs, the liver.
8. These are not serious conditions in the present, but - with this slowness - they tend to leave poisons in portions of the superficial circulation - as in the extremities of the body, the ankles, the knees, the feet, the hands, at times through the shoulders; so as to produce achey, dull,
619-10 Page 2
easily tired feelings to the body.
9. Hence these are the things to be warned of.
10. Then, knowing the sources of these disturbances, it is well that those corrections be made in such measures or manners as to cause the establishing of the better circulation, by stimulating the activities through portions of the body.
11. This may be accomplished through physical applications, the diet, and the general activities of the body.
12. In the nerve forces - we find that these are very good; as are the reflexes through all of the nerve system, save when there are those pressures from accumulations - which may act only as slowed circulation in the tissue itself; as in the muscles, as in the bony structural portions of extremities or through the body, as to cause some anxiety; not a great deal of pain save at times, yet indications or awarenesses or an uncomfortable disturbance or condition existing through portions of the body.
13. Then, in the functioning of the organs themselves:
14. In the present we find the slowing effects are to the central blood supply - heart, lungs, liver, kidneys. For, to be sure the blood passes twice - as it were - through the liver to all other portions of the body, and directly through the activity of lungs, heart, liver and kidneys there is the controlling influence of the metabolism of the body. However, the affectations may come from some glandular disturbance, which is indicated here at times when - through this disturbance and the glandular forces - there is the effect to the throat, the harshness, the awareness that there is a phlegm or fullness, as it were; not a soreness, but just a fullness. This is the affectation to that area where the balance is made in the metabolism of the system, or in the governing forces - as might be termed - of the blood supply. Then, this - too - needs consideration.
15. The organs as indicated are functionally disturbed, because of the slowness, yet there is no organic disturbance.
16. Then, in making for or giving helpful influences:
17. At least once a month, or oftener, we would have a full hydrotherapy treatment. This would include a very mild sweat; not merely a Turkish Bath, but give the instructions to the physiotherapist as to what is desired; that is: First a light sweat in the cabinet, then the hot and cold douches or sprays following same; then a thorough rubdown, followed with the pine oils and peanut oil, and then - of course - the alcohol rub. Then occasionally, at least once or twice or three times during a period of eight or nine
619-10 Page 3
months, have a colonic irrigation to cleanse the colon; that there may be no reaction from the drosses - through poisons or accumulations there - to affect or disturb the metabolism.
18. In the rubs and massages, let there be a stimulating to those centers indicated that govern the influences to lungs, liver and heart.
19. We would keep those foods that carry full quantities (though not excessive) of calcium and iodine. These will be the more helpful if they are assimilated from foods than by the administration in other manners. For, the affectation or the helpful influence passes then through the entire activity of the assimilating and distributing of energies, BY that assimilation through the body.
20. The mechanical (osteopathic) applications, occasionally, would be for the stimulating of the activities of the organs themselves - heart, lungs, liver, kidneys.
21. Do these, and we should keep the body physically fit; giving the better opportunities for the full mental and spiritual application of the purposes of the body.
22. Ready for questions.
23. (Q) What is the cause of hands cracking, and what should be done? (A) This is an illustration of just those conditions indicated, as to how there is the slowing of the circulation. And the sweats, the hydrotherapy, the rubs with oils - these will relieve these disturbances.
24. (Q) Are my teeth causing any ailments? (A) No; these - as indicated in the throat and mouth - are more from the disturbances of the glandular forces, or the thyroid activity in relationship to the metabolism. Thus the needs for supplying those foods that carry quantities of iodine and calcium. Salt water fish, or all of seafoods, or the use of kelp salt upon other foods, or the use of iodized salt and the like in the seasoning of foods. All of these are the measures and means by which such elements are carried, and in which much of these influences as helpful forces will be found; as well as in fowl, especially the bony pieces and these taken as part of the food values - the bony pieces chewed for the marrow and the activity of that about the bones of such that carry the calcium.
25. (Q) How can I reduce weight to feel better? (A) Such massages and sweats the more often, as indicated, will tend to reduce. Also for this body we find that the grape juice and grapefruit diets would be beneficial.
619-10 Page 4
Take two ounces of grape juice (Welch's preferably, unless fresh grapes are used) stirred in one ounce of plain water (not carbonated water), half an hour before each meal and at bedtime. The grapefruit juice should be a drink taken once or twice each day, about two or three ounces.
26. (Q) Any further advice? (A) As we find, if these are done consistently, being consistent with the regular periods - wherever the body is - of taking the hydrotherapy treatments - the body will keep in better physical condition.
27. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file (An extra sheet of directions for Physiotherapist was enclosed, also for Osteopath.) ath.)
