Time of Reading 3:50 to 4:25 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Va. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [622].
2. Now, as we find, there are disturbing conditions in the physical forces of this body. These are rather a combination or a complication of disorders. They arise from some minor disturbances first; and while they have not gotten to that position where they have OVERCOME the physical functioning of the body, or become so acute as to incapacitate the body, as we find, the vitality is being used up - and unless some corrections are made, either from general conditions or superimposed conditions, there may be brought about acute reactions such as to be very disturbing to the body.
3. These conditions as we find, though, taken in time, or now, might be easily eradicated from the system.
4. Then, these are the conditions as we find them with this body, [622] we are speaking of:
5. The BLOOD SUPPLY indicates an impoverishment throughout the system, and the effect of toxic forces being present in not only the abdominal area but from the lack of a perfect coordinating circulation; and a great deal of the taxation, both as to that which causes the blood supply to be so overtaxed or burdened and the specific conditions, exists in the soft tissue of head, face, especially in the antrum and the mucous membranes or soft tissue of face and head.
6. These naturally, from their disturbance, produce a fullness and a burning sensation at times in the throat, and INVOLVES the organs of the throat; and may, unless these are removed - and the causes removed, bring detrimental conditions in the circulation in the lungs themselves.
7. Also from the seat of toxic forces, or in the digestive tract area, we find in the caecum a disturbance where there has been and is the indication of an overstrain. While inflammation has only arisen at times, it burdens the
622-1 Page 2
hepatic circulation - both the liver and the kidneys, with this extra amount of dross or superficial forces to be eliminated; thus causing more toxic forces that more and more disturb the eliminations, creating at times inflammation which finds a response or an indication of same through a form of strept that it produces in the blood stream, thus becoming a contributory cause to the disturbing forces that have been indicated.
8. In the NERVE SYSTEM, of course, we find a great deal of taxation. This is rather produced by the taxation from other conditions, as we have indicated; yet in bringing bettered conditions this must be considered from a specific as well as a contributory - that is, application to the nerve system to equalize the various forms of disturbances as involved in the disorders in the system.
9. For, as the blood stream has become contaminated, and is both the building and the eliminating - and the nerve forces both sympathetic and cerebrospinal are impulses through which the circulation is carried forward, whether as to replenishing or eliminating portions from the system, it must be materially considered.
10. In some times back we had a condition that existed from toxic forces, or by the accumulations through and to the stubborn condition in an IMPROPER elimination through the alimentary canal. This strain at the time from fecal forces in the system tended to make for a thinning of the walls of the intestines themselves, making a secretion that - having to be taken up by the lymph and emunctories, and the blood being impoverished - produces a rash on the exterior forces of the body at times. This may come from cold or heat alike, or when there is the taking of any foods that carry a form of acid; particularly pitric (?) or citric, these produce an irritation that makes for much of an eczema - yet is NOT of the nature, neither is it purely from exudations from the improper lymph circulation or excretion from the intestines, for it involves the caecum or appendicial area the more and thus makes for a greater irritation.
11. As to the functioning of the ORGANS themselves, as indicated from the character of the circulation in the head, the organs of the sensory system suffer under these conditions; for the blood at first impoverished, and then the impoverishment of the antrum and the soft tissue in the face itself, makes - with the accumulation of forces that segregate themselves, and accumulations that make for poor circulation - in these organs at times supersensitiveness, but the more often irritation to the lymph circulation in the nose and the eyes, affecting the hearing at times also,
622-1 Page 3
and making for a condition there that FORMS much as in the reflex of a catarrhal condition. This, naturally, would be the result of those poisons from the condition in the lower portion of the jejunum and just before the small intestine enters into the caecum or the colon itself.
12. In the lungs and bronchi there is reflex irritation from those conditions as indicated.
13. Heart's action irregular, though not organically disturbed; more reflex.
14. Digestive system at times apparently most anything will digest, and at others scarcely anything at all will be digested in its proper way and manner. Lack of the proper amount of the lacteals, and a superabundance of the hydrochlorics or the elements lacking are iron, silicon, phosphorous and iodine. These are as would be indicated, unless there is added to the system these in such a way and manner as to be assimilated, not only from the foods but from properties taken into the system that will effect and maintain nearer a coordination in the functioning of the impulses to the organs themselves; they would produce an improper distribution.
15. As we would find, then, these would be the manners first to approach these conditions for making the corrections, and for bringing about a permanent relief. While no portion of the system must be neglected, it will be necessary that we BUILD something for the body to make for the ability to resist, without drawing on the vitality of the body as it exists in the present, to keep a normal equilibrium in the functioning of the organs throughout the system and thus build up the body as the corrections are made and as the proper secretions are brought about in the functioning of the organs and glands for the activities in the body to be maintained in a coordinating and cooperative way and manner.
16. First we would prepare to be taken into the system, before we begin with a great deal of corrections in the system, a compound prepared in this way and manner:
17. To 1 and 1/2 gallon of distilled water, add: Wild Cherry Bark.................2 ounces, Sarsaparilla Root................2 ounces, Yellow Dock Root.................1 ounce, Burdock Root.....................1 ounce, Wild Ginseng...................1/2 ounce, Buchu Leaves....................15 grains, Mandrake Root....................5 grains. (Not drams, but GRAINS)
18. Reduce this by slow boiling to 1 quart. Strain. Then
622-1 Page 4
add 2 and 1/2 ounces of pure grain alcohol with 3 DRAMS of Balsam of Tolu cut in same. The dose will be a teaspoonful 4 times each day, before each meal and before retiring.
19. With this as a tonic, with the quantity and way the properties are put together, we will add TO the system's vitality and build up resistance.
20. Soon after the tonic has been begun, begin with high enemas. The first week take one on Monday and one on Saturday. Then skip a whole week or ten days; then take another.
21. We would also begin with a spray for the nasal cavity and to be gargled for the throat, prepared in this way and manner:
22. To 4 ounces of grain alcohol (85% proof rather than 195%, you see), we would add: Oil of Eucalyptus...............20 minims, Benzosol (solution of)...........5 minims, Tincture of Benzoin.............10 minims, Rectified Oil of Turp............3 minims, Tolu in solution................30 minims.
23. When this is put together to be used in the spray, add an EQUAL quantity of distilled water. For the gargle, use full strength. If a teaspoonful is used in the spray (DeVilbiss spray is well), add a teaspoonful of distilled water; and if it is warm the least bit, all the better.
24. Be mindful of the diets, that we keep more in an alkalin reaction. And because the appetite is improved after the first week, don't overeat! Beware of melons of any kind. Eat as many pears as the body can well assimilate. Eat at least three each day. Quantities of grapes may be taken also. Peaches - only a very few of these should be used. No apples. No bananas. Citrus fruits. And little or no meats save lamb, fowl, or such; and none of these fried.
25. Should there come more inflammation by the use of the first two enemas, we would apply a Castor Oil pack over the caecum or appendicial and liver area. This would be left on for about three hours, you see, in the evening when the body is ready to retire - or resting. When the pack gets cold, take it off and apply another one; saturating the body so it absorbs.
26. Then the next evening, following the evening when the Castor Oil pack is used, take 5 grains of Simmon's Liver Regulator, in the powder.
27. Do this. When the whole quantity of the compound has been taken, then we would give further instructions.
28. Ready for questions.
622-1 Page 5
29. (Q) What causes my head to ache so violently at times? (A) Read what we have given! If all these disorders are not enough to make your head ache, it's bad!
30. (Q) What is the condition of my teeth? (A) The natural condition from acidity. There is needed local attention. Several of them have pus at the base of them.
31. (Q) Is my present condition due to any faulty teeth? (A) Present condition due to rather a condition that existed sometime back, that arose mainly from constipation.
32. (Q) How may larynx condition be corrected? (A) This will come along as we change these forces in the body. This will be aided, of course, with the correction of the circulation. This will arise with the next treatments.
33. (Q) How can I clear my resonance chambers? (A) As indicated.
34. (Q) Is the lack of volume in my singing caused from any physical condition? (A) The natural condition from the lack of VITALITY.
35. (Q) How may I gain more volume? (A) More vitality!
36. (Q) Is the present method of voice training correct? (A) We haven't the present method of voice training; we will look it up! (Long pause) It does very well! You see, there has been some change in the way it was begun from the first. This last is very much better, and you are greatly improving yourself over some things. But when we gain more vitality, more volume, more strength, more resonance in the throat and antrum, we will be in much better shape! and get some of this fear out of self.
37. (Q) Is there any spiritual advice that I should have for my benefit at this time? (A) As the emotions of the body are raised to their activities through that which IMPELS the body in its desire and in its desire of expression in voice or song, see that which is ever of a CONSTRUCTIVE nature to others, and it will be more constructive to self!
38. We are through with this reading. Copy to Mrs. [413] " " Ass'n file (8/1/34 GD's note: Letter was enclosed to Snyder Pharmacy. Enclosed also was the list of Alkalin-Reacting foods, of which your diet should principally consist; with exception of deviations mentioned in reading.)
