Time of Reading 3:55 to 4:25 P. M. Eastern War Time. ..., Virginia.
1. GC: You will have before you the body and the enquiring mind of [622], present in this room, together with the physical and mental conditions surrounding him at work and the various social contacts, including sleeping, eating and recreation; also world conditions as they affect the entity in the present and near future. You will answer the questions, as I ask them, in a definite and easily understood manner; giving specific and definite suggestions for corrective measures where necessary:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [622], present in this room.
3. In answering, or in giving advice and counsel to the entity as respecting such relationships or associations sought here, it is well that first there be given the premise from which such reasoning or such counsel would be drawn.
4. For, there are ideas and there are ideals. To some individuals, some individual ideals are mere ideas. To others we find that ideas, or to that individual, are ideals.
5. Thus in the individual entity's reasoning, or analyzing of problems, of conditions, of associations, first determine in self what is thine OWN ideal; spiritual, mental and material.
6. Know that which is the ideal manner of relationships in a social or in a business manner must be founded upon spiritual ideals; else they may have attained their growth before - or by the time they have begun. But that which is of a spiritual nature GROWS. For, as is the law, ye grow in grace, in knowledge, in understanding. And thus it is from such premise that all such reasoning, or such advice or counsel, would be drawn.
7. Ready for questions.
8. (Q) How can the bonds of mutual friendship between [2844] and myself be made more secure, or if not advisable, explain.
622-7 Page 2
(A) Where there is agreement, these may be made more secure. Where there is disagreement, do not attempt to convince one another of the veracity of the other as concerning such. This MANNER of approach will weld friendship. When one becomes dependent upon another for ANY form of activity it soon loses its vitality, its virility. Thus are friendships builded.
9. (Q) Should I try to get an inter-departmental transfer from my present job? If so, what is recommended? (A) Rather as we find, let the services, the activities, the abilities, speak for themselves. And when and as the body makes itself valuable to that department, the advances are made.
10. (Q) As regards to my job, when should we expect a cessation of these present world hostile activities? (A) As indicated, these will not be too long. As to whether it will be a month, a day, a year or a decade, depends much upon others, rather than upon self. But find, deep within self, peace; that peace He has promised to those that seek to know His ways. For, as He has given, it is indeed necessary that offences, that strifes come into the world, but be not discouraged, for "I have overcome the world." Have you? This should be rather the seeking deep within self; knowing that SELF has been and is ready to meet whatever the problem may be. As to the material - these will be for at least another ten to twelve months.
11. (Q) Regarding my health: Give cause and cure of present bronchial ailment. [See 622-5, Par. 7-A and previous Physical Rdgs.] (A) A lack of sufficient calcium in the body content. Take CALCIOS about twice a week for five to six weeks, and gradually change the diet to include greater quantities of calcium of the vegetable nature; as onion, beets, celery and the like. But take Calcios to meet the immediate needs.
12. (Q) For cracking open of skin at tender parts of body; such as feet, etc.? (A) This is the same condition. It is because of the lack of chemical balance. The type of foods, as well as the added properties in the immediate will aid; not suddenly, but will make corrections that will be beneficial.
13. (Q) Will this also aid the small acid eruptions?
622-7 Page 3
(A) Keep down the acidity! Take that which produces a better akalinity in the digestion; as Phillip's Milk of Magnesia.
14. (Q) Is the extreme sweating injurious? (A) Extreme sweating in the present conditions is rather beneficial than injurious. And, with a change of chemical balance, we will find a change in the activities of the eliminating forces of body, and not the necessity of the respiratory and perspiratory system to throw off as much poisons that should be eliminated through alimentary canal.
15. (Q) Give immediate relief for cough. (A) The white of an egg beat very stiff, with a half a lemon in same, taken at night.
16. (Q) What can be done to correct the "overbite" of my teeth? (A) This is rather a formation in the teeth and the position of the upper and lower portion of the mouth. We wouldn't bother with these. Rather use that thou hast to the advantage, that ye may have better ones the next time!
17. (Q) What was meant in a previous reading [622-6, Par. 18] by this statement: "For he that sings, he that sees, he that speaks, he that hears well is especially gifted of God; and not only has the one or the two but the five talents that may be made into such measures, but the choice of the entity, that he may be ruler not only over the five senses but the ten kingdoms in God's own way." (A) It was meant what was said. Just as that indicated in the parable of the talents by the Master. He that use the five talents was given more. He that use the five senses, - as of speech, of song, of hearing - to the GLORY OF GOD, - is given the ten to use or to rule over - as was the man with the talents. Do thou likewise.
18. (Q) Would marriage at this time be advisable? (A) It's advisable at any time if you find the right person! This depends upon the body of purpose with the individuals seeking such a relationship. As the ideals in friendship must be based upon the spiritual purposes, so must the relationships such as marriage - but the ideals in marital relationships must be not merely of the spiritual nature but of the mind also. For, remember, women change their minds easily!
19. (Q) Have I as yet met the girl whom I will eventually marry? (A) This depends upon self. You've met several that you COULD marry, but WOULD you! [He got married 3/12/44.]
20. (Q) Would it be advisable to reveal her to me at this time? (A) Not very advisable. For, these must be choices in
622-7 Page 4
self, and not by that as might be indicated from here.
21. (Q) Should I try to acquire possession of the property and buildings located at 8555 Granby St., Norfolk, Va., and if so, whom should I contact? (A) This should depend upon self. If the idea is for an investment, or for a place for such activities as might be a part of the experience of self, this is very well. But, such should be the decision of self; not from here.
22. (Q) Advise where to locate. (A) This, again, should be the choice of self; as this should be the prayer: "LORD! HELP ME TO SERVE WHERE I AM NEEDED MOST." And not merely as words, but in spirit, in purpose, in hope. And you are led then by the spirit - of hope, of truth, of God.
23. (Q) What should be done about my vocal lessons with Werrenrath? [See 622-7, Par. R2.] (A) These should be carried forward when they can be.
24. (Q) Any other advice at this time? (A) Keep true to the faith that the more oft prompts self.
