In Primary Time of Reading 2-A Class, 11:45 to 12:00 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., L.I. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [628]; this we have had before.
2. Now, as we find, conditions-physical are very good with this body. These are much better than when last we had same here.
3. There ARE those conditions that have not been entirely corrected in the neck or in the cervical area; but more specific in the left portion of the clavicle area, or in that which leads to the nerves of the nasal cavity and to the throat - on the left side. Such corrections made, as we find, with the stimulation of sufficient nature to relieve the tendency for the refraction in the throat and head, would overcome the tendency of the sniffles (Here, Mr. Cayce imitated the sniffles). Also there would be the easing of those tendencies for change in the atmospheric pressures to make for cold & congestion for these portions of the body.
4. We would keep much of those suggestions for the general physical exercises of the body.
5. As we find, there should not be required more than three such adjustments osteopathically; of course, coordinating the centers around the head, the ear, and those that may enter through the portions of the head; for these conditions arise from the superficial circulation rather than from the internal.
6. Do this.
7. Ready for questions, [628].
8. (Q) Until general treatment suggested becomes effective, do you recommend any specific treatment for the sniffles which are quite bad each morning? (A) We would recommend the osteopathic corrections. But in the immediate, as a cleanser in the mornings and to make for less irritation, we would recommend the use of an inhalant -

from properties that are antiseptic yet healing in their nature to irritations to the mucous membranes, compounded in this manner: To 4 ounces of pure grain alcohol, in a 6 to 8 ounce container (preferably with a two-way connection to the solution to be inhaled into the nostril), add: Eucalyptol, Oil of....................20 minims, Rectified Creosote.....................5 minims, Benzosol in solution..................10 minims, Rectified Oil of Turp..................5 minims, Tincture of Benzoin...................10 minims, Oil of Pine Needles....................5 minims. When this is to be inhaled, shake well together. This will relieve those tendencies in the immediate. But, for the general condition, make the correction in the area as indicated. This may be easily located in the left side, in the lower portion just above what may be called the collar bone, close to the entrance of the 5th nerve to the left side of the head, see?
9. (Q) Would any type of home exercises produce similar results to osteopathic treatments recommended? (A) No. Corrections and exercises are quite different. To be sure, head and neck exercises would be HELPFUL, but they would not take the place of the three to - Well, THREE adjustments should be sufficient; then head and neck exercises would be very well. The adjustments should be at least three or four days apart in their corrections, you see.
10. (Q) Is there any osteopath on Long Island near ... who would give satisfactory treatments? (A) As we find, the more preferable will be those in sympathy with the information, and those seeking out the variations in that which may be performed for the body from that which has been ordinarily taught, see? The tendencies of many are to follow previous instructions. But there are those who are seeking or trying to learn something themselves, or who really want to follow instructions and see the results.
11. (Q) How about Dr. Porter at Great Neck? (A) With a little training he would do very well! [GD's note: We referred them also to Dr. Lawrence Robertson, Forest Hills, L.I.]
12. (Q) Is posture satisfactory?
628-3 Page 3
(A) Very good. Of course, there will be changes. This does not affect the body as to its physical condition, other than to its stature and structure in the natural growth. But it is not harmful in the present. The general exercises, the general activities of the body, will have more to do with keeping the posture than making any corrections, see?
13. (Q) Any other suggestions for this body? (A) We would follow these, as we find. Using the inhalant of mornings and just before retiring would be helpful; for in the morning when first arising the circulation has to gradually adjust itself. We will find that after the circulation has balanced itself, through the conditions that exist there is not such a noticeable condition. For it affects, you see, the sympathetics, and the reactions are to the mucous membranes. Do these, as we find, would be correct for this body, [628].
14. We are through with this reading. Copy to Parents " " Ass'n file (Letter was enclosed to Osteopath. You can buy the ingredients for the inhalant and put in the drops as indicated. If you cannot obtain all the ingredients from local druggist, try Eimer & Amend, 18th & Third Ave., N.Y.C.)
