Time of Reading 10:55 to 11:25 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., New York. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [629].

2. Now, as we find, there are conditions disturbing the better physical functioning of the body of [629]. These, as we find that are apparent, are effects rather than causes; and the causes are rather hidden. Hence at times there are produced what might be called complications in the physical forces and reactions. While these are acute at times, we find that they may soon disappear and the causes be removed, if precautionary measures will betaken and changes made somewhat in the general mien of the activities. It will require a little time to remove the causes, though the effects of disorders may be removed or aided very shortly.

3. These, then, are conditions as we find them, present in the physical forces of the body, [629]:

4. The BLOOD SUPPLY indicates a disturbance in the circulatory system, and poisons - toxic forces; both from a poor circulation in the alimentary canal and toxic forces of a more severe nature that arise from poor eliminations and a disturbed activating force in the kidneys. Hence a uremia of a nature that makes areas of irritation in the superficial or capillary circulation, even to the exterior portions of the body. The attempt of the circulation in this portion to remove poisons; yet making for the tired, unsatisfactory feelings, headaches, nausea somewhat, at times bearing down pains through the pelvis, the lymphs and feet at times giving trouble, cold in the extremities at times while at others there is an undue circulation - and the taste in the mouth at times is unsatisfactory, dull headaches resulting; tiredness in arms and lower limbs, pains especially through the right side of the torso or body.

5. These, as we said, are effects; and the varied organs in portions of the system become INVOLVED in this toxic force. Not a malarial condition, but rather a different type or

629-2 Page 2

nature of germ might be found in the blood stream - which arises from the combination of disorders in the effect OF disturbances in the system of a complication of the hepatics; that is, the liver and spleen and pancreas, as involved in the character of the secretions from the body for the producing of the activity and the destroying of poisonous forces that should be eliminated in the system; the kidneys not coordinating with the liver activities. Hence at times we have other effects; as burning sensations in the eyes, pains at the back portion of the head, top of the head at times. Not as headaches, but a heaviness. Pains in throat, as sort of an aching at times; not always, but these are as different periods of affectation.

6. The ORGANS themselves, as we see, are involved from a SYMPATHETIC condition. Then, it may be asked, what IS the source or the cause? Toxic forces in the system that have arisen by improper elimination, produced much by the effect of a slowing of the eliminations between the organs themselves and the activities of the glands.

7. These are the conditions as we find with this body, [629].

8. Then, in meeting the needs of the conditions under the existent circumstances, as we have indicated, it will be necessary for precautions to be taken that there are not the stoppages in some portions that make for such accumulations as to produce there a plethora, or a centralization through cold, congestion or temperature, or improper assimilation of foods, through a sudden reaction in the system from toxic forces from poisons, from characterizations of some kinds of foods. Any of these may arise, under the existent conditions.

9. We would begin, then, with medicinal properties to be taken. Take three doses, and let one day elapse between the taking of each capsule. Prepare three capsules, with this in each capsule: Podophyllum...........1/4 grain, Leptandrin............1/2 grain, Sanguinaria...........1/2 grain, Cascara Sagrada.......1/2 grain, Dover's Powder........1/4 grain. Preferably these would be taken in the evening; and during the period or days when these are being taken, we would drink at least eight to ten glasses of water a day. These, of course, will flush the system. The activities of each of these will be to produce for the time somewhat of an

629-2 Page 3

irritation; some nausea may be expected. So, among those things taken during time would be plenty of lemonade in the drinks; not too much sugar in same, rather sour lemonade. And this, as we find, will clear the system.

10. After the last of these three doses are taken, allow another day to elapse. Then begin with Fletcher's Castoria, put up in a bottle of 900 drops. Take at least a bottle and a half; the dosage being about half a teaspoonful every half hour during the waking state until that whole quantity has been taken.

11. During the period when the Castoria is being taken, let most of the drinks and food values consist of grapefruit juice and vegetable juices; rather the liquid diet, you see.

12. Three days following the activity of the Castoria through the system, we would begin with the manipulations osteopathically given, that will centralize in the corrections being made in the 4th lumbar, the 8th and 9th dorsal, the 3rd and 4th dorsal, and the 4th, 3rd and 2nd cervical. Use also the locomotory centers to make for a general massage throughout the system. Do not give these under three days, or five days, after the full activity of the Castoria.

13. Throughout the period, and especially beginning with the manipulative treatments, the diet would be according to an outline as follows:

14. Mornings - cereal (preferably the sweetening on same being honey), with milk, or fresh fruits, or stewed fruits, with occasionally coddled egg and dry whole wheat toast. A cereal drink, preferably Postum, should be used for the body rather than coffee.

15. Noons - preferably fresh raw green vegetables; as lettuce, celery, carrots, tomatoes, peppers and the like. With these there may be used the salad dressings that are preferable to the body. Or this meal may be changed to only the vegetable juices; not vegetables, but the juices of same, with browned whole wheat bread; or here we may again take a cereal drink.

16. Throughout these periods of treatments, beware of taking CARBONATED waters!

17. Evenings - A well-balanced vegetable diet, using with same the veal, lamb, liver, tripe, or fowl. No fried foods at any time.

18. These, as we find, will make for considerable changes in the general activities. This will not be a fattening diet.

19. And those things that are added as chemical reactions upon the organs (the properties to be prepared in the capsules) are not good for ANYBODY, and especially where

629-2 Page 4

there is the tendency for the general activity of a well-balancing between the carbohydrates and the proteins.

20. In the general treatments, beware of carbonated drinks or too much of the spirits frumenti and the alcohol or any great quantity. OCCASIONALLY the malt may be taken, but this preferably not until the latter portion of the treatments.

21. In the manipulations, take these at least twice to three times each week, until twenty-one - at least - have been taken.

22. And we will find that all those conditions will have been corrected; even in the feet, hands, arms and the head, with the general manipulation and the diet.

23. Ready for questions.

24. (Q) Is the increase in weight due to a glandular condition? (A) Glandular condition. These activities that we have given will reduce the weight, but from a NORMAL manner; not from taking things that affect the glands, under these conditions. For we will produce greater complications, were such done.

25. (Q) Is ocean bathing good for me? (A) Very good. Not too cold. When the temperature of the water is below fifty-six, it is too severe a shock to the system.

26. (Q) What should be done to cure sleepless nights? (A) This outline we have given as to the diet, the eliminations, and the coordinating of the activities throughout the system. Each time those treatments are given osteopathically, MAKE corrections in the areas indicated, as WELL as the general massage. The 4th lumbar, the 8th and 9th dorsal, 3rd and 4th dorsal, 4th, 3rd and 2nd cervical. Not that these are in the MAIN impinged, but the glandular activity - from the force of the circulatory forces through the impulses received from these centers - will affect the portions of the body that are being disturbed by the poisons in the system.

27. (Q) Would you advise my moving to New York City? Would it be better for me there? (A) In the Fall, be very well.

28. (Q) Any other advice for the body? (A) Do these, as we find; and we will bring normal conditions for this body, [629].
