Time of Reading 11:30 to 11:50 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. North Carolina. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [647].
2. As we find, the greater strain in the present is and has been from the anxiety of the body respecting surrounding conditions in the physical and in the relationships. [See 647-1, Par. B1.]
3. These produce that straining in the physical system in the present that is quite aggravating to other physical forces that we find existent with this body.
4. For this nerve strain we may have that of a specific nature that would be most helpful, in a compound prepared in this manner:
5. To 2 ounces Essence of Lactated Pepsin, add: Milk of Bismuth.............1/2 ounce, Elixir Calisaya.............1/2 ounce, Tincture of Valerian........1/4 ounce, Compound Simple Syrup, or sufficient Simple Syrup with 1/2 ounce Alcohol to make 8 ounces. Shake well together. The dose would be a teaspoonful every two or three hours.
6. In the general physical forces of the body we find these conditions as disturbing factors in the physical body:
7. The strength and vitality has been used to excess, making for a poor circulation, the poor eliminations at times. Hence that continued tired, heavy feeling, and the STRAIN that comes with the activities in those periods when there are the poor eliminations in the alimentary canal, as to make for specific pressures in the limbs and in portions of the body.
8. As we find, the prescription for the mental strain carried forward, and at least ten to eighteen general massages in the form of the osteopathic manipulations, would be the greater relief for this body; or these taken in the
647-1 Page 2
form of the Swedish massage each day would be helpful; but about three times each week the general osteopathic manipulations would relieve these tensions in the system and make for a better coordination for this body, [647].
9. Ready for questions.
10. (Q) Is she working too hard for her age? (A) Too great a strain, as we have indicated.
11. (Q) Should there be any change in location of residence? (A) This, to be sure, in some respects would be satisfactory; in others it would be VERY unsatisfactory. These would have to be CHOICES for the BODY! As for the conditions - physical, they may be made as beneficial in the present surroundings; but should the body of its OWN self make the desires for change, would be well. Follow these suggestions, as we find, for this body; we would bring about the better conditions.
12. We are through for the present. Copy to Son, Mr. [416] " " Ass'n file (9/3/34 GD's notes: Letter was enclosed to Druggist. Also letter was enclosed to Osteopath.)
