1. GC: You will have before you the body and the enquiring mind of Mrs. [658], present in this room, especially pertaining to the hair tonic which she is planning to compound, consisting of two acids, Bay Rum and Sage Tea. You will give what should be the exact proportion of each of these ingredients to a given quantity, and the order in which the ingredients should be added. You will answer the questions which she will ask regarding these.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, and especially that as regarding the compounding of the tonic. This we have had before. As has been given, the properties as the body has put together are those that may make for those who use same an active force in keeping, preserving, maintaining that adornment for the individual.

3. In the compounding of same, the Sage should be added to the Bay Rum - see? and the proportions would be as two to two and a half; that is, where the quantity is two ounces and a half of the Rum, then two ounces of the Sage tea - see?

4. (Q) What about the acids? (A) Well, these should be added in their regular order, see?

5. (Q) How much? (A) These in the proportions as she has used, and in the manner as they come - see?

6. (Q) Should the two acids be used or just one? (A) Two. Four is the basis for all perfect combinations where they be made up of the elements of forces that make for combinations to make life to any active or growing force. See?

7. (Q) Should you use one-third or one-fourth acid? (A) One-fourth.

8. (Q) Would that be in this proportion: The two ounces of Sage Tea, two and a half ounces of Bay Rum - (A) (Interrupting) Begin the other way - Bay Rum two and a half ounces, add two ounces Sage Tea.

9. (Q) And two ounces of acids added to this?

658-2 Page 2

(A) Two ounces, no - you see that wouldn't be the same proportion - one-third the quantity, then, you see - see, two and two and a half are four and a half - then one-third of that quantity for the acid.

10. (Q) Should she use equal proportion of the two acids? (A) Equal proportions of the two acids. These are combined, then added to the other - you see.

11. (Q) Then the acid should be one-third of four and a half? (A) A half, you see, one acid - and half of the other acid.

12. (Q) How should the sugar be eliminated? (A) Why should it be eliminated?

13. (Q) It isn't exactly clear to her mind the proportion of the acids to put to the proportion of the Rum and Sage tea as given. (A) Two and a half ounces Bay Rum (we are making this proportion now, you see), add two ounces of the Sage Tea. Then one-third quantity - that is, of the combination making four and a half, you see - one-third of the four and a half, see, and this divided by two - see? Three - one - third of a half - then this divided by two, making the combinations of the acids - see?

14. (Q) Any other advice for the body at this time? (A) This compound, as we find, will not only find a ready sale and make for remunerative measures for the body so compounding same, but will prove to be a boon to many who have used inferior preparations for the hair, see? for this not only adds to that as a stimuli to the scalp, but preserves the lustre, prevents breaking, and takes the color for that as is NATURAL TO each individual, see? While the tendency will be for those of the lighter shades to be darkened some, yet these - as we find - will not be amiss, for the lustre that same will be given BY the use of same will make for the RETAINING OF the shade - especially as they grow in years, see?

15. (Q) How often would it be well to use a tonic? (A) This, as we find, would be well to be used whenever the hair is washed well. It's better to use with a clean scalp, and NEVER use with a dirty one!

16. (Q) What is the best shampoo to use in cleansing the hair before the use of tonic? (A) Plain castile is the BEST to be used. Castile shampoo, see, will add a lustre - of course, would be well if a few drops of olive OIL is added in the water, not in the hair. There may be added to these, as a combination, those - of course - of the face creams, also those of the rouge, that may make for a combination or a set that would be almost indefeatable and the body would find that with the

combination of these - and these have already been set in her head - just follow them out - we will aid - they will be very VALUABLE so far as money is concerned, as WELL as being very helpful. Of course, an almond cream for the evening, see? and one with more grease, to be sure, for the night - see?

17. (Q) How should she go about to plan this cream? (A) She has the idea - let her commence, and then we will help!

18. (Q) Will any of the ingredients she is using be of help to her? (A) They will be of help, to be sure - but we will change some of these, as she will find as she puts these together. These same ingredients as used for the hair - that is, those that act with the scalp - not those that make hair grow, to be sure!

19. (Q) Would you mix the almond cream with the acid? (A) Mix the almond cream with the acid. Not so much of the acid, to be sure - best to test it on the hands, see? Then, as we find that it will work with those, we will find how that it cleanses the pores, how that it makes for the removing of lines, how it makes for the addition of pliability, and get away from that roughness and also from that leathery expression or feeling that comes to so many as the years come. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " File (To 2 1/2 ounces Bay Rum, add 2 ounces Sage Tea. To 3/4 ounce of one acid add 3/4 ounce of other acid. Add this to above solution.)
