Time of Reading 3:30 to 3:50 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Va. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [667]; this we have had before.
2. Now as we find, while there are some changes for the better, there are many disturbances that need better correction, or a better adherence to the suggestions that have been or may be given for the bringing about of those changes necessary for a better condition in the assimilating forces of the body and a better reaction to the circulatory forces of the system.
3. These then are conditions as we find them with this body in the present; and these as we find we would use in the present for corrective measures, disregarding those things that have been heretofore given that are not included in these in the present:
4. In the blood supply we still find there is lack of proper assimilation of that which is taken into the system as food values.
5. This, as has been indicated, is due to not only the disturbance in the digestive forces of the body but to the position and to the manner in which the activities of the stomach itself are active upon the foods digested or to be digested.
6. In the first, owing to the position, there is the tendency for food values to soon leave - or for the stomach to be emptied without there being the proper activity of the gastric juices from the salivary glands, from the upper portion or cardiac reaction of the stomach itself.
7. Thus we find, as it enters the pyloric end and through the duodenum, this becomes overflown with the tendencies for the creating of the acids. Hence the cramp, the regurgitation, and the feelings of a bloating or of gas forming; which naturally it does, without sufficient of the alkalines that have been acted upon (or the lacteal reaction) in the cardiac portion. Thus it makes for a
667-8 Page 2
hardship upon the stomach, the pancreas, the spleen, the liver; and the eliminations become disturbed.
8. These are not always the reactions, but are more the rule than the exception in the regular reaction of the system.
9. Hence it will be necessary that the body not only take the time to make for the preparation of self for the foods but to remain quiet sufficiently that there may be the reaction from the gastric activities of the upper portion of the stomach and of the glandular forces of same; as well as adding to the body that which will be helpful in assisting the body to create the proper state for assimilation of the foods that are taken.
10. And in these special seasons, we would follow a diet that will be rather severe, in some respects, yet it will be found to be the most helpful if it will be adhered to.
11. The activities of the body's nervous system and the organs themselves naturally react to these depleted conditions; and there is still insufficient of the red blood supply for the body.
12. Thus the body oftentimes overtaxes its strength, overtaxes its vitality.
13. Hence it will be necessary that these as precautions be taken in this direction; not to overtax, overstrain the body when in this depleted condition, and especially at any time within thirty minutes after eating. Remain quite still or quiet after eating, and don't put off the eating because you don't want to remain quiet!
14. These then we would add to the system in these ways and manners:
15. First, we would keep the vibrations of the Radio-Active Appliance, that has been indicated for the body. This will not only make for a quieting of the whole nerve tension but will assist in giving better rest and a reaction to the body if taken at least twice each day; but at least take it the once, the thorough or full time. This we would keep.
16. As to the diet:
17. Take beef juice. Make quantities of it, but be sure it is kept rather fresh; or make it fresh each day. Sip it two, three, four, five, six times a day. A teaspoonful of this is worth much more than a quarter pound steak. This is worth much more than five pounds of potatoes. It is worth much more than a whole head of cabbage, unless the cabbage is eaten raw - and this wouldn't be very well for this body. Take, then, at least a teaspoonful four, five, six times a day. Do not gulp it when this is taken, but make at least five or six swallows of same. A salty cracker or whole wheat cracker or the like may be taken with same, but keep
667-8 Page 3
this CONSISTENTLY for at least three to four weeks and we will see a vast difference!
18. Do not take, again, the Malted Milk. Do not take raw milk. Preferably if milk is to be taken, use Dryco or the like - this may be taken once a day, but if taken should be taken with an egg beat in same - and spirits frumenti with it also - or Whiskey - five to ten drops, not spoonsful - this to be put upon the egg and the egg beat in this before it is put into the milk.
19. Cereal - preferably the whole wheat, and this cooked. A little cream may be taken on same. Be sure it is fresh.
20. Oranges should be used. However, do not take the orange juice AND the cereal at the same meal or even the same day! A whole quart of orange juice taken at once (not swallowed at once but taken at the one sitting) would be well. This, of course, for the body would be impractical, but a whole glassful, at least, should be taken at or for a meal.
21. Use the rubs of the oils, and equal combination of Olive Oil and Tincture of Myrrh, for the abdomen, across the solar plexus area or around the diaphragm area, under the edge of the ribs, over the liver area and over the spleen area. These will make for the bringing of a better position, better activity. Do not do this just to be gotten through with. Take time to do it. Take at least fifteen to twenty minutes to give such a massage, gently in a circular motion, around the body, over the the abdomen - once each day.
22. The cooked vegetables should preferably be taken at the evening meal, though raw vegetables or a salad should be taken at one of the meals, or a portion of one meal each day should consist of a raw salad. These should be thoroughly masticated before they swallowed.
23. After the cooked vegetable meal (not necessarily the salad meal, but the evening meal), which should be the heavier meal of the day, take a quarter teaspoonful of Milk of Bismuth and six to eight drips of Elixir of Lactated Pepsin stirred in half a glass of water. This will insure digestion, this will add to the digestive flow of the stomach itself.
24. This will necessitate that there be care and precaution as to the eliminations, and if there is not an evacuation each day use an enema to eliminate the poisons and accumulations from the colon.
25. Do not use too much of cathartics or laxatives. If these are to be used at any period, it will be found that the Milk of Magnesia will be more preferable for this body.
26. But it will be found that there will be the absorption of the poisons by the taking of the small quantity of the
667-8 Page 4
Milk of Bismuth (not more than a quarter teaspoonful) with the six to eight to nine drops of the Elixir of Lactated Pepsin in half a glass of water once a day. This would only be taken after the heavy meal, the evening meal - and be sure it is a heavy meal! Don't take it after a glass of water or a spoonful of soup or like that, but after vegetables, after meats, after any of those food values that appeal to the body. And if these properties are taken for a week, continuously, then left off for a week, then repeated again when necessary, we will have an appetite, we will have the better complexion, we will have a better reaction throughout the system - and a gaining in weight!
27. Ready for questions.
28. (Q) Any advice as to the osteopathic treatments? (A) The general treatments are the better. Make these a little farther apart, though the osteopath may want you to make them nearer together. But make them farther apart, and have a good, thorough treatment. Not emptying the stomach but relaxing the cerebrospinal system.
29. (Q) Should the tonic be begun now? (A) Leave off the tonic until we give a different one. A little bit later when these changes come about, or when the body has been cleared a bit, we will give another character of tonic - that will be for the colon, for the blood, for the liver, the spleen and the activity of the system - but not now.
