This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at his home on Arctic Crescent, Virginia Beach, Va., this 6th day of June, 1936, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [678], Active Member of the Ass''n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc.

R E A D I N G

Time of Reading 4:10 to 4:35 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. Washington, D.C. (Soul-entity. You will give a detailed account of this entity's incarnation as She-her-len in Egypt during the period of Ra-Ta, giving especially the urges as related to the present talents and abilities for the position of supervisor in school or college, or where the young are trained. You will advise this entity regarding the securing of this type of work at this time.)

1. EC: Yes, we have the soul entity and those records of same, and the information as given or the interpretation of same as indicated through the experience and its relation with the activities of the entity in the present.

2. In giving a detailed account, something of those surroundings during the period would be well, that there might be a better understanding of the experiences of the entity in the present and the urges that arise innately and manifestedly in the present.

3. In the period we find turmoils and strife, materially as well as mentally and spiritually; internally as well as from the entering in of other groups from a varied activity with varied ideas, varied manners, varied rites that had been a portion of a people; also of the natives and the peoples that had settled in the land, with the correlating of experiences and activities by the priest Ra-Ta in that particular endeavor.

4. In the establishing of a correlation of activities of varied groups from the many varied teachings that were being correlated at the time, there arose much of a diversified endeavor in forming the varied activities that were to bring about such a correlation of the tenets, teachings, ritualistic forces that became a part of the endeavors.

5. The establishing of the temple forces for cleansing of bodies, the purifications for specific service - these were for what would be termed in the present the teen ages, or the adolescents.

6. And those activities of the entity were in what would today be termed the prep school, or the college or university trainings that were necessary; that have been and are ever a portion of the experience as to the awareness of individuals' in the correlating of their emotions with influences they find about them, and their correlating with the activities or findings of the individual in the various forms of enlightenment or education.

7. These then were those portions of the entity's activities during that particular period.

8. Then there entered into same not only that termed in the present of the educational nature, but also the moral, the religious, the economic, the general conditions that make for a well balancing of the developments of individuals and groups as related to their activities, their endeavors, their classification of their activities in their relationships with the world, the peoples, the influences and forces roundabout.

9. In this the entity was among those that were purified in the Temple of Sacrifice, and made for an activity through the temple service or the Temple Beautiful; but rather as one that builded for correlating of the bodily forces with the mental activities, with the influences about the individuals.

10. Hence those activities in the present would be termed those of a home mother, a mother superior, a conductor of the guidance for the developments of the individuals; that care not only for their mental selves but their physical selves, their physical adornment, their physical development.

11. All of these came as a part of the entity's activities during that particular experience; making for a period of some hundred and nine years of activity in that sojourn.

12. Thus many activities or varied forces and influences had to deal with that experience.

13. In making same applicable, then, or able to be put into practical application in the present, in relation to its service for others, as a manifestation of that which has been and is developed as innate in the experience of the entity, we find:

14. As has been given, there is the necessary training as a mother superior or as a home mother; or as a nurse or as a companion for those sick of body, of mind, of desire in all its various phases. The entity INNATELY is one equipped for such an activity. And in the applying of self, in going about to use the influences of that as has been builded, it becomes as what may be termed by some as second nature, as a

natural experience.

15. The lack of confidence in self at times is rather that of self-consciousness; but the abilities to act, the abilities to meet situations, the abilities to use the conditions as they exist, are as NATURAL forces. They are the outcome of the applying of self IN a given direction for the welfare and the needs of others, rather than for anything in self; so that when there begins the application of self in these directions these become as a part of the entity.

16. In the present there be those fields in which these may be applied in either that capacity as a supervisor in a resting or recuperative home, or as a home mother in a school.

17. Or there are those associations, those connections already wherein there maybe made application as the representative of, or the care of, or the supervisor for dormitory, or homes, or those activities in relationship to the school work.

18. THESE as we find are the channels, either in a home or activities in these directions, in which the entity may find those influences that again may become as a part of self; thus bringing material satisfaction, mental quietude and harmony, with spiritual and soul development.

20. (Q) Would it be advisable that I apply for a position at the Episcopal Children's Home in Washington, D.C.? (A) The associations there are already such that the application for same would have not only favorable activity but would be satisfactory in many ways and manners. While some associations, some surroundings and some duties as felt innately by the body would require some adjustments, yet these as we find would be well.

21. (Q) Should I apply for the position as matron or superintendent? (A) As superintending matron.

22. (Q) Any suggestions regarding such application? (A) There is the acquaintance, and there are those associations that are as the natural development in the affairs; and through these we would make the approach as to those of the Board to whom the application would be made.

23. (Q) Should I apply to Mrs. David Lee, President of the Board? (A) Apply to Mrs. Lee or personal application with the endorsement of Mrs. Lee to the whole Board.

24. (Q) Are there any other places in Washington in line with such work that you would advise me to make application to? (A) These may be, as it were, canvassed by the body. But

as we find, these are in DIRECT line where there may be the little chance of not receiving the appointment.

25. (Q) Would it be advisable that I take the apartment house management which I am considering until locating permanently? (A) This would be very well, but would only be temporary. Do not allow the associations or connections in such to interfere with the applications in this direction as has been indicated.

26. (Q) Any spiritual advice at this time? (A) Hold fast to that as has been indicated, that in service there comes ever that opportunity for the self becoming more and more the channel. Not by precept alone but by living, by being that to which each and every soul contacted may look and see in the activities, in the judgements, in the manners, the entity as a channel of the Master.
