Time of Reading 11:45 to 12:20 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. Wash., D.C. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [679], present in this room.

2. As we find, the conditions that disturb the better physical functioning of the body are in the present rather a complication of disorders. While the causes that first began the producing of the conditions were specific, the effects that have been brought about in the functioning of organs in the activities directly in the structural portions of the body have produced, do produce, the effects that are at times taken for causes. And the application for corrections in this direction has then only allayed or prevented the conditions from being of a permanent nature as to the relief brought.

3. Hence we find these as the conditions in the physical forces of this body, [679] we are speaking of, present in this room:

4. As to the BLOOD SUPPLY, we find this is deficient not only in the hormones necessary for the producing of the proper replenishing and rebuilding to the system, but rather the excesses at times in one and then another of the disordered conditions as to prevent eliminations that should be carried in the conditions to be eliminated. For these poisons, these excesses, should be eliminated, and not produce - as has been and is shown - the condition as in vision, as in the manner of circulation through the superficial portions of the system (or exterior), as in the structural portions of the system where there have been activities that have called for the destruction of portions of the body itself. These should have been eliminated through the channels that are as the eliminating forces or sources of the system. Hence we may say poisons from impingements in the cerebrospinal system, that prevent the proper activity of the burses and ganglia along the cerebrospinal system, that cut off impulse to the activity

679-1 Page 2

of the eliminations in the system, are the primary causes. Those that have been produced as effects, then, disturb the system in the present.

5. The NERVOUS SYSTEMS have at times responded in a varied way and manner. First we have had excruciating pains in portions of the body, at the 1st and 2nd cervical, in the face, in the arm, in the pelvic portions of body, that have brought the signs of the condition existent; yet these have had little effect upon the causes, or that which has been produced as deflecting the vitale in the system to the portions where distresses arise.

6. As to the ORGANS of the system, here we find both effects and - as has been indicated - the results of causes in the conditions.

7. Brain forces are very good. The discernments of the body are good.

8. The activities in the sensory system have been impaired to where there is being produced impairment in the vision, from the centers where the sympathetic and cerebrospinal accord with the activities of the circulation, both of the lymph, the blood supply and nerve energy to the organs of the sensory system. At times there has been impairment to the auditory forces. At others there is the deflection that has produced such a poor circulation in the head as to cause conditions in the lymph circulation as to cut off the circulation.

9. In throat, bronchi, lungs, larynx, these show the effect of a disturbed circulation, but also the attempts to create a greater and a near normal flow. These have made for accumulations that have become as crustations in varied portions of the system, and make for such an impairment in the muscular forces as to make even bone structures change in their formations - necessitating the bringing of changes in this respect. Though, had the impairments from the spinal conditions been adjusted in the proper way and manner in the beginning, with sufficient stimuli to the glands that create for the impulse in the lymph circulation, we would have overcome the condition!

10. As we find, these conditions may be helped and aided to where the body may return to an activity that (if applied in the proper direction) may bring greater satisfaction to the body in many ways.

11. The heart's activity has been altered much, so that we have a metabolism that is not always normal, though there are periods when the body forces self to continue through pure determination on the part of the body; for it is very determined at times, and at others is swayed by public

679-1 Page 3

opinions and the suggestions of others. The heart's activity, though, is a reflex and not an organic disorder.

12. The digestive system, through the impairment and impingements, has been of such great disturbance; though much of the relief and aid may come through this organism provided the corrections are made in such measures and manners in the cerebrospinal system that that assimilated may not only act in a manner to bring resuscitation but to the sustaining of those centers through the system where disorders have existed in this body, [679] we are speaking of.

13. The liver, the spleen, the pancreas, the activities throughout the jejunum are all disturbed. For, as has been indicated, when there is an alteration in the manner in which the eliminations are carried on, and there is the attempt for the body to eliminate, through the impingements in impulses carried through the respiratory system, that which should be carried through the alimentary canal or the activities of the system that take from the body such portions as the uric activity of the system, these all become involved in the condition; though in this particular condition the functioning rather than the organs is involved.

14. Hence, as we find, these would be rather those conditions that would bring for the body the BETTER corrective measures for the system:

15. First, as a compound for massaging, to 4 ounces of the Russian White Oil, add: Oil of Cedar Wood................1/2 ounce, Carron Oil*......................1/4 ounce, Witchhazel.......................1/2 ounce, Oil of Sassafras..................10 minims, Kerosene or Coal Oil...............2 ounces, Tincture of Benzoin..............1/2 ounce. These in solution will tend to separate. Before using, shake well together. Pour out a small quantity in a saucer or open container; and use to massage - with a circular motion - into the cerebrospinal system, from the base of the brain to the end of the spine once each day; only using what the body will absorb at each massaging. * [GD's note: Originally I had this written Carum Oil by mistake.]

16. After the third application (and this has relaxed the cerebrospinal system), make corrections first in the 2nd

679-1 Page 4

and 4th cervical centers. This will relieve the pressure to the eyes and to the upper portion of the body. Then the next relief will be from the correction in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th dorsal centers. In making the adjustments, these we would make from the left side toward the right, with the body lying on the right side. Keep the massage with the compound, and make the corrections not all at once but gradually. The cervical corrections may be made first in part, but of course all are to be coordinated. We will find also that there is to be raised the segments in the coccyx later. All of these would come along together, but begin for that which will bring the quick relief for those lacks of drainages in the auditory system.

17. Doing these, as we find, will bring a much BETTERED condition SOON.

18. No operative forces for the removal of accumulations would be helpful in the present.

19. We will find it will be necessary also to use INTERNALLY the Animated Ash, that we may release for the activative forces the carbon in the blood supply that will maintain for the centers throughout the blood system a better coagulation, and a tendency for the eliminations in the system. This would be taken one-eighth grain each day save on Tuesdays and Thursdays, when there would be taken one-quarter grain; and five minutes after the Ash is taken (on the Tuesdays and Thursdays), or ten minutes afterwards, apply the violet ray. Begin at the throat and massage with the bulb of the violet ray over throat, the thyroids, the breast, down through the sternum, over the lower portion of the stomach, across the diaphragm area, and ESPECIALLY down the sides - along the intercostal centers on either side of the body. Such an application of these electrical forces should be for five to ten minutes, dependent upon the reactions to the body. The violet ray would only be used on Tuesdays and Thursdays, you see, when the quarter grain of the Ash would be taken; though the eighth grain of the Ash would be taken each day as indicated; (Take the Ash loose on the tongue and wash down with a little water. Do not take in capsule!) beginning with the throat, though once a week it may be begun with the temple and around the soft tissue of the face and eyes, but not directly to the eyes - until the next suggestions are given from here, as we find.

20. As to the diet, be mindful that there is the greater quantity of the non-acid producing foods. This would be as an outline, though it may be altered to meet the needs as to the eliminations through the alimentary canal:

21. Mornings - citrus fruit juices; preferably we would

679-1 Page 5

continue close to these rather than other diets for the morning meal. Citrus fruit juices, with whole wheat browned toast, coffee or a cereal drink; preferably that which is more blood building. If coffee is preferable, use that without the tannin, such as the Kaffa Hag.

22. Noons - preferably one meal each day, whether in the noon or evening, would be entirely of RAW vegetables; such as lettuce, celery, tomatoes, carrots, spinach, onions, peppers and the like. These may be taken with an oil dressing or with the mayonnaise dressing.

23. The other meal should consist of well-cooked vegetables, three above the ground to one below the ground; and never any of the white bread with same - either whole wheat or rye or the sour bread, any of these may be taken with the meals if desired.

24. When these are followed, we will find we will bring better conditions for this body, [679].

25. Let THIS be the attitude of the body: Not as rote, but that there may be awakened in every atom of the physical forces of the body the DIVINE within.

26. Ready for questions.

27. (Q) Who would you advise to give the proper adjustments? (A) Wahlen can do it!

28. (Q) Who should give the electrical treatments following the Ash? (A) It may be from the same source!

29. (Q) Can anything be done for the knees to make them bend? (A) We are doing it!

30. (Q) What should be done for the turned and thickened ankle? (A) With this massage, you see, where we are to stimulate the centers of circulation to the extremities, we pass over those that make for the locomotions, both in the arm area, in the brachial, and in the lumbar and sacral for the lower extremities. For this in the present there should not be local applications, but let's get to the basic causes with these rubs! When there are the applications for the lower limbs, in the ankle, for the thickening condition - which will come later; that is, after at least a week or ten days treatment to the spine - these will be massaged with the same combination, or compound, TOWARDS the body, you see, so that the superficial circulation will be stimulated to activity. As indicated, keep rather the excess of eliminations through the alimentary canal; for, understand, as drainages are set up there will be periods when the body will feel not so

679-1 Page 6

good, for there will be tendencies for dizziness, there will be tendency for nausea, but it will be the system ADJUSTING itself. Hence, as given, not as rote - but be consistent and persistent, and we will find we will bring those physical forces for this body that it may carry on - but do it FOR something!

31. (Q) Is there anything that can be done to relieve the condition in the retinae of the right eye? (A) This in the body, as we find, is produced by conditions in the upper dorsal and in the cervical area by the accumulations, and is NOT in itself of a local condition! As we make these applications and these adjustments, and the blood flow is increased, these conditions should clear up - and not only will it clear the condition in the right but will RELIEVE those pressures for the burning sensations in the other!

32. (Q) The doctors tell this patient that the retinae is torn. (A) We do not find the retinae torn. We do find that there are the accumulations where drosses have made for a shade, or as a lip that would hang OVER. But with the stamina, and with those portions of the eye relieved by proper circulation, these will change for the better. Be patient, be consistent, but KNOW it will be relieved - IF the suggestions will be carried out. Do that!

33. (Q) Are there any other suggestions for the body at this time? (A) Do NOT operate for these conditions, for it would mean destruction to the body's eye, for the scar could NOT heal - with the condition of the circulation! Do this in the present, and in thirty-six to forty-six days we would give further instructions.

34. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file " " Self for Osteopath or Chiropractor chosen (DO NOT FOLLOW ONE PORTION OF TREATMENT UNLESS THE WHOLE IS FOLLOWED, else it may bring more detrimental conditions to the body. These treatments outlined are to coordinate and cooperate one with another. The compound for the rub may be prepared by self or one who would give the massage each evening. If you have any trouble securing any of the ingredients, I would refer to our local druggist: Snyder Pharmacy, 244 Church St.,

679-1 Page 7

Norfolk, Va. The corrections may be made chiropractically or osteopathically. Probably Dr. Wahlen was recommended in the reading because she is in sympathy with our work and would follow the ENTIRE reading to the letter, which is necessary if you are to get the results promised. As you probably know, her address is: Dr. Ada Wahlen, 2006 Columbia Rd., Washington, D.C. Another chiropractor who has treated some of our patients is: Dr. A. B. Chatfield, 601 Homelife Ins. Bldg., Vermont & L St., N.W., Washington, D.C. An osteopath who is now treating a patient of ours is: Dr. F. A. Goerger, 608 Peoples Life Ins. Bldg., 14th & H St., Washington, D.C. The violet ray treatment may be given as prescribed, by the one who gives the corrections; or you may obtain a violet ray hand machine and have the treatments given at home, following the Ash as indicated - twice a week. The Animated Ash may be obtained from B. H. Bradley, 5443 Maryland Ave., Chicago, Ill. See letter [which was enclosed] explaining what the Ash is. Take as directed in the reading. After the entire treatment has been followed for thirty-six to forty-six days, let us know so that we may make an appointment for your check-reading, to see what further treatments may be suggested for your better welfare. Sincerely, GD. P.S. If there is anything not entirely clear to you or anyone who makes the applications, don't hesitate to get in touch with us. We are anxious to see you get results; and we are believing - from the experiences we and others have had through the years - you WILL get the results promised if you will follow the entire treatments suggested.)
