Time of Reading 12:30 to 1:00 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. Washington, D.C. (Entity. Mental and Spiritual reading. Questions regarding spiritual development, mental and material affairs.)
1. EC: Yes, we have the entity and those relations with the mental and spiritual influences that have been the promptings in the experience of the entity through its present sojourn.
2. In giving a helpful understanding, well that the entity analyze - from its own mental outlook - what have been the experiences, in its various approaches to become a channel of helpfulness to its fellow man. For, as seen in the experience of each soul, not only is there the command, "As ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them" but "As ye DO unto men, so is that done unto thee!" For the mind of man is ever the builder, and if the promptings in the associations or activities are only of the earth-earthy, only of the houses of clay that crumble when the winds of adversity come upon them or when the trials of perversion are at hand, these are as the winnowing of those influences that have been builded by such an entity in any experience.
3. Turn, then, into self. See, know, what is thy ideal. Is it that thou mayest be in a position to laud thyself above thy fellow man? Or is it that thou may spend thine energies, thine self, thine body, thine mind, that thy fellow man - through thine efforts - may see a vision of hope, may take those measures whereunto he, too, may see the light and it become the guiding way for wandering feet? Hast thou set thine ideal in spiritual things? Hast thou sought ever, "Lord, here am I, use me, send me!" Who is thy judge within thine inner self? Where hast thou sought to meet thy Maker, thy God? In the hearts and minds of others, in divers places that might bring to thee those things of the material earth? Or hast thou turned to the still small voice as from within? For His promises throughout the ages

have been, "SUBDUE the earth," subdue the earth that is within thine own self. But thine counsel with thine Maker shall be within the holy mount from within thine self. Not "Who shall descend from heaven, or who shall come from over the seas, nor who shall come from the uttermost parts of the earth," for the Lord thy God meets thee WITHIN thine own self, thine own judgements, "I do not condemn thee," saith the Lord. "Thou art condemned already if thou hast not kept the faith thou hast in me; for I have no pleasures in those things that require the sacrifices of this or that," but that ye call on the Lord while He may be found. And, "A new commandment I give unto thee, that ye love one another." For with what judgements shall thou be judged in the day that thou standest before thine brother, thine God, thine Savior? "As thou did it unto the least of these, my brethren, ye did it unto me."
4. For the way is open before thee. Thou hast received at His hands, at thine brother's hands, at thine Savior's hands, those opportunities; not only for judgements but for understandings. What hast thou done? What wilt thou do with those promises that are made thee in Him? Wilt thou turn these aside and listen to those that in their struggles also have wandered hither and yon crying, "Lo, He is here - He is there." Rather, as He gave to His saints of old, "Declare ye this day in thine own heart" that "I will seek the Lord in mine own heart."
5. Ready for questions.
6. (Q) Just how can I do the most good with the Biblical collection left me by Mrs. Paul? What would be the proper method of disposal? (A) The way in which it may be the most helpful in the hearts and minds of those that seek to proclaim that truth found in same. Seek those that are the greater servants, according to thine own heart, thine own mind, and to them make known that which may be gained as a helpfulness in THEIR understanding. What saith the Lord as respecting such, when the young man sought? "How readest thou the law?" "THESE, Lord, have I kept from my youth." "One thing thou lackest, though, yet. Sell ALL thou hast and give it away." That thou lendest unto the Lord, in thine gifts of thyself, will be repaid in the coin of the realm in which thou hast given it. HOW were these gathered? With the love that they might become as stepping-stones for those that seek to know the ways others have sought their Lord. Then to these, and through these channels, may thou be the greater blessing to others with that thou hast in hand.
7. (Q) What would be the proper method of disposal, and to whom?
689-1 Page 3
(A) To those who would make known, either through the publication or administering of same through their teachings, in their varied activities; these would be the channels. To whom? As has been given. Seek thou! Use that thou hast in hand! Thou knowest! What would be the purposes in thine heart? The LORD looketh on the purpose, MAN only looketh on the outward appearance.
8. (Q) Just what should I do with my collection of W. J. Colville's works? What will be the proper method of disposal and presantation to the world? (A) Prepare them for publication through the activities of those who lead in those things respecting same. McCoy's would act!
9. (Q) Should the entity prepare those, or have someone prepare them for her? (A) The abilities are within self, and as thou goest about to have these prepared thou would be given light and understanding - if thou seekest from the LORD!
10. (Q) What should I do with the essays given me by Longfellow? [Automatic Writing?] (A) WHOSE Longfellow gave these? Art thou sure from whence these came? Are they not rather those of thine own surroundings in the earlier days of thy application of thy own mental self in relation to those that soon passed over? These are too great a question, yet they may be used for those things that make for understandings to others.
11. (Q) What should be the trend of my own spiritual work? (A) First, as has been given, analyze thine own self and know what are the promptings of same; that they show forth not thine self or thine associations nor thine connections - for ye find glory rather in these; but that the promise is sure, "If ye will be my children I will be your God." Then, let thine activities be rather that thou gainest by thine entering into thine inner closet, and that given thee there may be - and will be proclaimed from the housetop. Many be they that are the channels through which these may come to light; for man lighteth not a candle and putteth it under a bushel, but rather setteth it on high that it may give light to all that seek. Proclaim not thou thine SELF, but rather the glory of Him that meetest with thee in thine inner self.
12. (Q) Advise me regarding the solution of my domestic problems. (A) These are they that are the thorns in thine flesh. Use these, then, not as thine excuses. For "That thou gavest me," was the cry as of old, "has become mine stumblingblock." Rather use those things as the steppingstones for those things that may make thee gain that greater understanding. For if thou seest not in thine enemy
689-1 Page 4
that thou would worship in thine God, then thou hast not caught the light. For GOOD alone may wholly, materially manifest in an earthly world; for so came thy Lord into flesh. EVIL only hath its appearance in the mind, in the shadows, in the fears of those that know not the light in its entirety. So, what shalt thou do? Use them as the stepping-stones for the awakening of the higher self to those abilities that thou hast known; for rest thou in this: He that honoreth the aged, he that honoreth his father and mother, his days may be long in the land which the Lord thy God giveth thee. Thou hast used thine self well; yea, thou hast abused thine privileges, yet the mercies of the Lord are sufficient unto those that seek to know His face. Listen not to this, that or the other influence that would wean thee from that thou KNOWEST to do; and as thou doest it the next step is given thee. Of this thou hast had many a glimpse, but have not WHOLLY embraced.
13. (Q) Is there any other advice or guidance for the entity at this time? (A) Study to show thyself approved unto God, that is the Giver and the Author of life in thee and in the earth, correctly divining, dividing the words of truth, that are shown thee as from the pattern in the mount in thine self. Let thine prayer ever be: Lord, here am I, USE me. Let my going in, my coming out of communion with Thee, be acceptable in thy sight; for it is to Thou alone that I may turn, for I claim thy promises in thy Son, that "I will come and abide with those that love the Lord."
