Time of Reading 11:25 to 11:55 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. Washington, D.C. (Physical Suggestion - Body and enquiring mind - Questions)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [691].
2. Now, as we find, while conditions in many respects are very good throughout the physical forces of the body, there ARE those disturbing factors that in the present may be relieved and thus prevent not only a great deal of inconvenience and even dis-ease but a great deal of trouble later on.
3. These conditions are of rather a specific nature, as we find, while their effects upon the nervous system, upon the functioning organs, are at times indications that these - rather then the direct causes - are disturbing the body.
4. Then, these are the conditions as we find them physically with this body, [691] we are speaking of, present in this room:
5. First, in the BLOOD SUPPLY we find there is a tendency towards a lack of the vitality necessary. Thus there is produced, with the taxations in the system, a nervous reaction that causes the peculiar or unusual type of headaches, making for an unnecessary or an excess amount of respiratory reaction through the nervous system in the form of perspiration in hands, on body, on feet, in a way that arises from the nervous reactions in the body; and arises from the manner of the blood supply in the body, as we shall see.
6. In the NERVOUS SYSTEM, or systems, do we find in the cerebrospinal system what may be said to be a contributory - yet a direct - cause of much of the nervous disturbance; while those reactions to the SYMPATHETIC nervous system, as just indicated in the manner it affects the superficial and capillary circulation, may be said to be the result of the disorder in the cerebrospinal nervous system. We find there are subluxations in the 12th dorsal and in the 2nd lumbar which arise from a congestion in the pelvic organs, that
691-2 Page 2
have made for an improper position of the organs of the pelvis. Thus an irritation has been produced, and the effect of a great deal of disturbance and suffering at the menstrual periods. This, from the lack of nerve energy and those reactions to same, causes an impediment in the circulation to the lower portions of the extremities. Thus there is caused a disturbance in the feet and limbs, making for that heaviness in the head, at times cramping across the lower portion of the abdomen, and upsetting the digestive system specifically. These, as indicated, then, make for causes and also for effects upon the general system, especially in the nervous system. To be sure, if they are not corrected they will gradually make for strains upon the sympathetic and sensory nervous systems; as indicated at times through these nervous reactions, when there are such pains through the eyes, such fullness in the throat, as to interfere not only with the vision but also with the voice's proper reaction - and this to the sensory system continues to become a strain.
7. As to the functioning of the ORGANS themselves, we find:
8. Brain forces are very good. The reactions in the impulse with the cerebrospinal nerve reactions are good, save at such times or periods that the body is under strain from those subluxations and those impulses that are received by the organs of the system at times.
9. In the throat, bronchi, lungs, larynx, we find as indicated - with an impediment in the circulatory system, in producing the proper vitality, WITH this nerve strain especially upon the sensory system - reactions are made that become easily susceptible to cold or congestion at times; at times easily irritated, and those things that the body feels that it should NOT allow to disturb the body become factors and conditions which it can scarcely eradicate from its mind.
10. The heart's action is very good. To be sure, with this discoordinant condition between the sympathetic and cerebrospinal system, from the very nature and the very position of the pressures that are continued in the system that make for this heaviness at times, there is at times a quick pulsation; but not a disturbed metabolism that can be said to be even a reflex or a cause in the condition.
11. The digestive forces are very good at most periods. Naturally, with the blood supply subnormal and the nerve disturbances through the body disturbing the digestive forces especially at periods, this rather upsets; but at most periods the digestive reactions are very good.
12. In the lacteal ducts, the spleen and the gall duct
691-2 Page 3
reaction, these naturally working with the sympathetic system are at times upset. This makes for, then, those contributory causes to those pains at times in the eliminations of the body, this congestion that we find in the pelvic organs and in the pressure as created upon the lower portion of the hepatic circulation. And, as may be said, the specific disturbances that need the corrections in the present arise from cold, congestion, exposure or damp feet, at a time when there should have been greater precautions by the body in respects to the periods. Then, with the subluxations gradually creating a lessening of the nerve impulse and flow to the organs of the system, there has gradually been produced this unpleasantness - as it may be said - of the organs that affect, of course, the Fallopian tube and the organs of the pelvis at their functioning.
13. Then, in meeting the needs of the conditions as we find for this body:
14. First we would have at least six to ten adjustments made osteopathically, as combined with a general treatment; SPECIFICALLY the adjustments in the 2nd, 3rd and 4th lumbar, in the 11th and 12th dorsal areas, naturally coordinating all centers with same at such treatments. Six to eight should be sufficient. These should be had not more than two a week until six or eight have been taken.
15. Before the menstrual periods we would use Tonicine as a stimuli to the gland functioning of the system, that will aid in alleviating the distresses that have gradually been set up in the organs of the system; and which will also aid in increasing sufficiently the activity of the glands in the system to make nearer normal the periods' activity.
16. We would find that a GENERAL electrical vibration that STIMULATES all of the activities of the system would be well also. This should NOT be taken for too long a period, but should be rather CONSISTENT with same.
17. And, with the consistencies of activity and diet, we will bring a normal condition for this body, [691].
18. Ready for questions.
19. (Q) What diet? (A) That which is a well-balanced blood and body-building diet; not excess acids, neither excess alkalines, but a regular body-building diet.
20. (Q) What can I do to improve the condition of my nerves? (A) We have just given it. Conditions in different nerve systems (that are both contributory to the causes and also affect from causes) affect, as indicated, various portions of the body and the bodily functioning in varied ways. But
691-2 Page 4
removing the subluxations through the adjustments and manipulations, taking the properties indicated, and taking those vibrations that ELECTRIFY and raise the vibrations of the body, will bring the normalcy for the nerves' reaction.
21. (Q) Where can I get the treatment suggested? (A) The medicinal properties may be had and taken by self, the adjustments may be made osteopathically, and the electrical vibrations may be had in association with those activities of the body.
22. (Q) What electrical vibrations are referred to? (A) Those presented or distributed through Lawlor.
23. (Q) How can I build up my health generally and overcome the feeling of exhaustion? (A) Just as we have outlined.
24. (Q) What can I do to relieve the condition of mucus in my nose and throat and breathe more freely thru my nose? (A) As indicated, through the sympathetic pressures that affect the nervous system, as to the sensory organism; when these vibrations are raised, and when the vitality of the blood supply is restored and there is the flow of blood through the system, these conditions will of themselves NATURALLY clear. This will aid materially in the singing.
25. (Q) If I were to wear the stone, as suggested in a previous reading, would it improve my mental, physical or spiritual condition? (A) This naturally is to make, as indicated, the body more sensitive to the higher vibrations. Not so much in the physical health as in the mental and spiritual influences, that would be materially aided.
26. (Q) Will my physical condition (meaning nerves) permit me to sing Grand Opera next fall or early in 1936? (A) If there is the practice - and if there are the corrections or changes wrought in the physical vitality of the body - this will be MATERIALLY aided.
27. (Q) Does singing improve my health? (A) Singing rather is a STRAIN on the health, under the nervous contentions. For, as indicated, the body becomes too easily upset through the sympathetic nerve forces and loses, as it were, the control - and the proper emotions that are necessary in singing. With the PHYSICAL changed, we would find these would coordinate one with another. No one needs a perfect physical body better than an emotional or opera singer.
28. (Q) Would it be possible for me to be successful as a singer? (A) If the health is taken into consideration first, it will be the greater help; but, as we find, the indications are that there are greater fields of activity for the entity
691-2 Page 5
in the home and in the writings, that may bring the greater successes in the mental abilities and mental associations of this body.
29. (Q) What writing would you suggest? (A) Those that are more or less of a semi-historical nature, that involve the activities of the emotions that direct individuals in their relationships with others. This is the type of writing the body can do best.
30. (Q) Would it be well for me to marry? If so, is the one with whom I am now associated the right person? (A) WELL, if the physical forces of the body were in the proper accord, and with the associations in the present - as we find, would be well.
31. (Q) What can I do to create a harmonious condition between teacher and sponsor, thus relieving my own nervous agitation? (A) Well, this is rather a problem. However, if there will be the corrections in the nervous energies of the body, then all of these may be made better. And, rather than injection of self into same, to make for those different turmoils that arise, let them take their own course. Do the right the self, and then let the rest take care of itself!
32. (Q) Any other advice that will be of help or benefit? (A) Be mindful first respecting those physical conditions that have been indicated, that are a disturbance; and that are in the way and position where they may bring very detrimental influences that may be long lasting unless corrected properly, and the stimulations in the proper direction. NEVER use hypnotics or narcotics for the easing of the nerve energies, or those that create drosses for the body. Too great abilities in all directions are endangered by such activity. Make those corrections properly. Keep the mind balanced towards the creative energies within self, and those abilities, the emotional forces of the system will be adjusted; and those activities as to the capillary circulation and those things that have hindered here and there will disappear. Do that.
33. (Q) Regarding the writing, any specific advice or counsel? (A) As indicated, make first notes - as would be of incidents that are of a historical or semi-historical nature. With same weave the constructive imaginative or fictional forces, and we will find these will gradually grow to be a portion of the whole activities of the body; and these are much more easily taken care of with a home than grand opera!
34. We are through for the present.
