Time of Reading 11:15 to 11:40 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. Washington, D.C. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [693], present in this room.
2. As we find, there are conditions that disturb the better physical functioning of the body, making for or producing in the nervous systems of the body an incoordination between the sympathetic and the cerebrospinal systems.
3. These, as we find, are of a specific nature, yet they may be corrected in such ways and manners that will produce or bring about - in the changing cycles of the body - such measures that we may have a perfectly normal reaction and coordination between the nervous forces and the functioning organs, and the activities of the impulses in this body.
4. Then, these are the conditions as we find them with this body, [693] we are speaking of, present in this room:
5. In the NERVE FORCES we find the distortions in the reactions of the body. Along the ganglia of the sympathetic and cerebrospinal system there have been produced adhesions and lesions, that - with the activities that arise in the natural forces of the body - cause the incoordinate reaction of the senses. These lesions are in those portions of the system where the activity of temperature has made, as it were, a fusing of tissue that is as scar tissue to the ganglia in the nerve centers, as well as in portions of the system where the activity of glands and their relationship to the functioning of the system in its replenishings are affected. Here we find the specific conditions that exist may be ferreted out and found by the closer examination by those whose touch is familiar with normal conditions in the centers and ganglia along the system, and in the segments of the cerebrospinal system.
6. We find in the 1st and 2nd cervical a lesion that is of a circular nature, or a ridge where tissue has been injured by the reactions in the system. Again we find a specific center in the 7th cervical and the axis of the plexus where
693-1 Page 2
the coordinations in the brachial centers are indicated. Hence the effect that is produced at times to the locomotories, to the arms, to the head, to these portions of the body itself. Again we find a specific in the 9th dorsal. Again we find the same in the caecum and the lower portion of the lacteal duct centers where these adhesions, these lesions, these fusions of tissue itself, as it were, has been injured, that make for or produce this incoordination. Their activity to the system is to produce along the course of the pineal center to the duct in the lower portion of the brain center itself where through the medulla oblongata there enters the coordinations between sympathetic impulses and the cerebrospinal system, and through the duct or gland of the lyden [Leydig] that makes for the GOVERNING of impulse in reaction to the torso or body from the brain centers themselves.
7. There is NOT scar tissue in brain. There is only an impeded IMPULSE to the centers in the brain. But rather do they exist in the centers that have been indicated, in the ducts and glands that have been indicated; and the effects to these are the disturbances to the organic functionings at times of the organs that are in, or receive their impulses from, activities of those centers through which the impulse in the nerves' reaction passes for its activity. Hence the spasmodic contraction that occurs from VARIED causes; not always producing the same. Yet the organs as for the assimilations of foods have NOT been disturbed as much, though under these stresses at times they become upset. Yet the assimilating and the activities of that for the distribution of energies goes on.
8. In meeting, then, the needs for the conditions of this body, [693] we are speaking of, present in this room, it will require consistency, persistency on the part of those that make the applications. Little of internal application should be save for the creating of an equilibrium in the eliminations of the system, so that there is kept a coordination in the superficial and the deeper circulation, so that the respiratory system in the breathing or breath of the body, in the perspiratory system, in the eliminations through kidneys, the eliminations through the alimentary canal, all shall coordinate one with another.
9. First we would begin, then, as with this:
10. To at least a quart to half a gallon of Castor Oil (fresh), add 1 ounce Oil of Pine Needles. Stir well together. Then prepare an application of this, through the heating of same, to apply to the body in the Castor packs; at least three to four thicknesses of heavy flannel. These
693-1 Page 3
packs would be applied over the caecum and the lacteal duct area, and on the SPINE to - all way to the base of the brain. This should be done at least three times each week for at least an hour or an hour and a half. Keep the packs hot. This may be done either by the application of heat from an electrical pad or by using heated salt in bags to retain the heat during such periods.
11. At least each day there would be some manipulation of the cerebrospinal system, from the base of the brain to the end of the spine; this in a CIRCULAR motion on either side of the spine itself - and especial attention should be paid to those centers that have been indicated, and that will be found upon the close examination. Not adjustments as yet, but the manipulation in the circular motion for those portions of the body that are released by the external applications of the packs - so that the nerve ends may come to their normal reactions in the system.
12. Well that at least once a week, or once in two weeks, there be the eliminations increased by the use of such properties as may be had in Fletcher's Castoria; this given, however, in very SMALL quantities - half to a quarter teaspoonful every half hour until the activities are set up through the eliminations or evacuations from the alimentary canal. This is much preferable to taking large quantities, that only make for an exercising of the lymph circulation through the alimentary canal. But taken in the small quantities the system internally absorbs the properties contained in same.
13. Once a month make a tea of the crushed watermelon seed; an ounce to a quart of water, heating same as a tea would be made. Let this be drunk by the body for one day during a month; increasing through same the activities in the eliminations of those poisons that will be released in the system through the circulation by the activities of those properties externally applied in the packs and by the application of the manipulations which exercise the functioning of the ganglia along the system in such measures as they will carry FROM the system the destructive force that has made for these conditions in this body.
14. Keep the diet in rather an alkalin reaction. Not too much sweets nor starches, but rather those foods that will meet the needs for a body and nerve building. Let one meal at least each day consist of raw vegetables only. One meal, whether morning, noon or evening, depending upon the appetite or desires of the body.
15. This will make for the correction of these conditions, if there are the consistent and persistent applications for
693-1 Page 4
the body.
16. When this has been done for thirty-six to forty-eight days, we would give further instructions.
17. Ready for questions.
18. (Q) What about cupping the body? (A) The circular motions in the applications for the various centers are preferable to a great deal of the cupping.
19. (Q) What caused the trouble, and what is the name of it? (A) As given. Read that given. There has been a fusion of tissue in ganglia, and in the ganglia along the cerebrospinal system between the sympathetic and cerebrospinal; also in those ducts where assimilation and eliminations are active in the forces of the body - as in those centers indicated, and as in those portions of the body indicated. The name? Name it yourself! This is the condition that exists! Do these things and, as we have given, be consistent and persistent. Do not make the applications as rote, but rather with that conviction that the proper applications are being made; for it will be seen that there will be relief in the general condition by the time the sixth to eighth application is made. But rather do these things with the knowledge that the vital forces in nature itself are being used to correct an unnatural condition in a normal, natural body that may be brought to same by the union of forces that will bring about normalcy for this body. It's WORTH it, to all who may apply themselves!
20. We are through for the present. Two copies to Dr. Flora Taylor (one for the Mother) Copy to Ass'n file (GD's note: WARNING: DO NOT USE ONE PORTION OF TREATMENT ONLY! EITHER DO ALL THAT IS SUGGESTED OR NONE OF IT, else detrimental conditions may result. All these treatments outlined are to work with one another, and one without the other would not have the desired results. Let us hear when all these have been followed for thirty-six to forty-eight days, so we may make appointment for Check-Reading.)
