Time of Reading 3:50 to 4:15 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. Washington, D.C. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [697].
2. Now, as we find, there are disturbing conditions in the physical forces of the body. These are first psychological conditions and also the pathological effects in the body. Hence we have first a physical disturbance of a specific nature that has produced a psychological effect; then a pathological result by the combination of the two in this body, [697].
3. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body:
4. In the nervous system of the body do we find the greater distress. In the early years we find there was an injury to the lower end of the spine, in the coccyx end. This pressure has produced an irritation to the sympathetic nerve system, so that there have been periods of reaction throughout the developing years - and specifically did these manifest the greater in the thirteenth, fourteenth, fifteenth, and then twenty-second year. These came not as spasmodic reactions but as irritations to the centers along the cerebrospinal system, where the sympathetic and the cerebrospinal make for coordinations through the nerve centers or ganglia. This has disturbed, in a specific manner, the circulation between the sympathetic system or the superficial circulation and the deeper, or through the fifth nerve center, through the nerve centers and blood supply that make for the vasomotor activity in the body. This has produced at times those periods of disorder and distress not only in the upper portion of the body, though in the latter portion of the activity it has been more above the diaphragm than below same, owing to those pressures made in the 2nd, 3rd and 1st dorsal area, and in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd cervical area. In the beginning we had upsetting of the digestive organs, only for a spasmodic condition; again a
697-1 Page 2
disturbance through the eliminating organs of the pelvis; again we have had these through the throat, the bronchi, the head, and the effects of these to the system have been according to those portions that the pressures affected most.
5. The more specific conditions are in the areas as indicated in the upper portion, in the brachial and in the axis area of the circulation and the impulses between the sympathetic and the cerebrospinal system. These ARISE from the effect of the gland disturbance to the brush end of the cerebrospinal system, which has acted upon the pineal which reflects to the vasomotor centers in the head, the glands of the throat, the thyroid, the ductless glands in the caecum, the glands in the internal portions of the system, and separating their activity. Not that their secretions have not been efficient, but rather that there has been an excess, making for the irritations, so that between the layers of the epidermis there has come the accumulation of the emunctory and lymph circulation. Hence the soreness, the swelling, the reddening, the effect as of a rash that makes for the accumulations of this lymph fluid. Hence the conditions as we find that exist.
6. These in the greater way, as we find, will NOT respond to internal medication. Neither are the conditions of such a nature that the centers will respond to the high electrical vibrations.
7. But there should be first a correction OSTEOPATHICALLY of the condition in the coccyx end of the spine, and six to eight such adjustments would be all that would be necessary in the beginning. However, remember that these are of such long standing that more than one period of correction would be required. But there should be at least two to three weeks between the periods of correction.
8. And BETWEEN such periods (that is, in the rest periods between the osteopathic courses) apply the low vibrations in electrical formations from the wet cell battery, that would carry with same the Gold in one application and the Spirits of Camphor in the other. Of course, the nickel and copper anodes would be used - and the nickel anode would be the one carrying the vibrations from both solutions.
9. When attached to the body with the Gold solution, the first anode or small plate would be attached in the area of the brachial center - or the 2nd and 1st dorsal plexus, FIRST! This would be the copper anode. Then the larger anode, the nickel plate, passing through the Gold solution, would be attached last - over the lacteal duct area, so that the assimilations or vibrations pass through the body in
697-1 Page 3
that proportion, and in and through that assimilated that will work with the glands of the system. Let it be charging, of course, when ready to attach; and disconnect all of the attachments when not in use, taking the connection out of the solution carrying the Gold. The Gold solution would be one grain to one ounce of distilled water, requiring about ten ounces for each of the application periods of eighteen to thirty-six days - though the anode passing through same should be cleansed each time and taken from the solution - dependent upon how clear, or how well corked the solution is when not in use.
10. The Spirits of Camphor application would be with the same quantity, but it would be used in its regular strength. The first anode attached (the copper one) would be to the axis center, the 1st and 2nd cervical, at the base of the brain. The other anode, the larger plate or nickel anode passing through the solution, would be attached last - at the 9th dorsal plexus.
11. Each of these applications would be made every other day; that is, the Gold one day and the Camphor the next, for fifteen to twenty minutes - not longer than that, until these have been taken for a period of twenty-eight treatments EACH.
12. Keep the mental attitudes in HELPFUL, hopeful surroundings.
13. As to the matter of the diet, eat those foods that are of the alkaline reaction.
14. Keep the eliminations rather in an excess through the alimentary canal.
15. As to the osteopathic adjustments and corrections, the ADJUSTMENTS only would be in the coccyx area; though, to be sure, the other centers along the spine would be made for coordination - NOT corrections.
16. Ready for questions.
17. (Q) What causes the peculiar formation of the pupils, and can the sight be improved? (A) With these pressures that are the effect of the dilation of the ganglia from which the sympathetic and the sensory organism receive their impulse, it makes for the same reaction in not only the sight but in the hearing, the taste, the feelings at times. ALL are as of an excess, and will be materially aided with the correction of these conditions in the manner as indicated.
18. (Q) Would organic iron or onion juice be harmful for the body? (A) Organic iron would be harmful. Iron taken as a muriate, with a very SMALL quantity of sulphate of morphia
697-1 Page 4
(not a quantity that would be harmful), would be helpful; but don't give this as yet. Onion juice would be helpful.
19. (Q) Would iodine be helpful for the body? (A) The atomic iodine (Atomidine) would be helpful, but let's not combine this with the Gold and Camphor solutions - YET. This may be added for the system in the next corrections that may be outlined through these sources, as changes come about. For it would affect, of course, the glands - but HERE the glands need rather the stimulations from the ATOMIC forces in Gold and Camphor, to HEAL, to revivify, rather than the atomic iodine that would produce greater secretion. Not that the quantity of the secretion of the glands is not there, but with the repressions that have been long standing - that have caused the irritation and now have found a centralization in those portions of the system we have indicated as needing corrections - these treatments as we have outlined would be the better, as we find.
20. (Q) What doctor in Washington would you recommend to give these treatments? (A) The treatments of the battery may be taken at home - but they must be consistent and persistent! For the corrections in the cerebrospinal, for the six to eight that would be taken - and three weeks between before they would be taken again, we would recommend Painter - as we find. [Ruby Painter, D.O.]
21. (Q) Will the treatments as suggested restore the pigment condition? (A) You see, the destruction of same is owing to the pigment separation through the exterior portion of the system, or the superficial circulation. This will be restored.
22. (Q) Why is the nausea present generally in the mornings? (A) From the upsetting of the hypogastric center through the sympathetic cardiac center, which controls the roll - as it were - of the stomach itself, which has not settled. Hence the centers from which the applications of the electrical forces are made. See, the 1st and 2nd dorsal are those areas from which the sympathetic or secondary cardiac plexus to the stomach receive their impulses; while those for making the SETTLING of same are from the 9th dorsal plexus - and these are vibrating with the vaso-motor centers from the centers in the hypogastric and pneumogastric area at the axis - or atlas.
697-1 Page 5
23. (Q) Until relief is received from the treatments suggested, is there anything that can be done to relieve the nausea in the mornings? (A) Use this: To 1 ounce of Limewater add 1 ounce of Cinnamon water, 20 minims 10% solution Iodide of Potassium, and 10 minims 10% solution Bromide of Potassium. Shake together and take a teaspoonful in half a glass of water before arising of mornings. This may be repeated in two hours. It will keep down nausea, and will make a general condition of relaxation to the body.
24. (Q) What causes the trembling when only mildly excited? (A) Incoordination between the sympathetic and cerebrospinal, the basis - as given - arising from those pressures, or which will be found as a nodule or knot, in the form of a lesion, in the 2nd coccyx segment.
25. (Q) How can these treatments as suggested be financed? (A) As given, very few are required other than at home; and for these the arrangements may be made in any systematic way and manner - to be taken care of as is seen the needs of same.
26. (Q) Are there any other suggestions for the better physical conditions of this body? (A) We would do these; and, as given, in thirty-six to forty-eight days we would give further instructions - if they are necessary.
27. We are through for the present. Copy to Mother " " Ass'n file (10/15/34 GD's notes: See letter [which was enclosed] to The Reilly Service, to Dr. Painter, and a list of Alkaline Reacting foods - of which it seems the diet should principally consist. Should anything not be clear, don't fail to ask. When the treatments have been followed as given for the length of time advised, let us know so that we may make an appointment for a Check Reading. Also see slip [which was enclosed] carrying prescription for nausea. You should be able to get this filled by any druggist. If not, send to our local druggist - Snyder; however, I do not believe this will be necessary - as it will only take a few minutes for any druggist to prepare it.)
