Time of Reading 12:15 to 12:25 Noon - Eastern Standard Time. Washington, D.C.
1. GC: You will have before you the West half of Section 13, Township 19-S, Range 38-E, and the N.E. quarter of Section 14, Township 19-S of Range 38-E, in Lea County, New Mexico, containing 480 acres more or less of land in the name of E. J. Thompson and Mary E. Thompson. You will tell us if oil or gas may be found in paying quantities on this land, and any other information that would be helpful to one in developing same.
2. EC: Yes, we have the lands here.
3. Now, in giving the formations, the structures, as we find these are in those ranges from which oil and gas may be obtained. However, those in the quarter section offer the greater possibilities.
4. While the gas is more abundant than the oil, the oil is of a high specific gravity; and would be at a premium.
5. Yet the inaccessibility for the use of the gas, and the requirements for the productions of the gas and oil would be such that - unless there are developments that bring facilities for handling same in more accessible range, this would be rather too great an undertaking in the present.
6. As we would find, then, to hold same in such a manner that as progress in adjacent fields is made, or prospecting or such makes this more accessible for the outlet for the gas and for the conservation of the oil, would be better. This to be kept either in toto or under lease.
7. The depths as we find of the gas are at not too great a depth. The depth of the oil is rather deep. The gas is from seventeen ninety-eight (1798) to twenty-seven hundred (2700), to thirty-eight hundred (3800) feet for the oil in paying quantities.
8. Ready for questions.
9. (Q) What is the possibility on the West half of Section 13? (A) This is not so much for the oil and gas but better for gas or leases in a way to obtain means for developments.
10. (Q) About how long will they have to hold same?

(A) From eighteen months to two years more before this will have a prospective.
