Time of Reading 11:15 to 11:40 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., N.Y. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [728].
2. Now, as we find, there are physical conditions that disturb the better physical functioning of this body. While those administrations in the present are at times helpful, and there has been some improvement, we will consider here first the cause of those disorders as we find them.
3. In the disturbing factors we find there are periods of incoordination, due to the lack of secretions from glands in some directions and an overactivity in others - yet produced by disturbances that arose in the body from a cold or congestion that made for the destruction of tissue by the very nature of the disorder; and this has produced ligament tissue where there should be the lymph circulation BETWEEN same. Hence we have the periods of the system's attempting to function through the caecum area, through the secretions that should come with the normal development of the body in this period of activity, that prevent the normal flow of those conditions for the system. Thus there is brought a repression to the nerve activity of the body, [728], we are speaking of.
4. These, then, are conditions as we find them with this body, [728]:
5. In the BLOOD SUPPLY, through the lack of assimilation - or very poor assimilation, we find elements missing in the regular structural forces of the body. Hence we have periods when little may be taken or is desired by the body, and there is the constant effort to make for sufficient food values in the system to carry on the proper development and building - even the proper expansion of the active forces of the digestive system. Hence we have accumulations of gases and, through other conditions contributing to same - as we shall find, very poor eliminations through the alimentary canal; constipations that affect the blood supply, affect
728-1 Page 2
the nervous system.
6. We find in the NERVE FORCES themselves a great deal of the cause, and at other times a great deal of the effect of other disturbing factors with this body. For in periods back there was a germ of the flu nature that made for an intestinal disturbance in the body, and - with the settling, with contributory conditions from a prenatal influence that became affected - has made for the nerve reactions. These cause the nerve centers in certain portions to become congested, as in a plexus nature. Hence when there are those activities that should bring about the normal development of other elimina- tion centers, and those developments of other portions in the system, we have a lack of their activity - and it brings the contraction of muscular forces at times to the body, making for a reduction in the vitality and resistances of the body - through periods of incoordination between the sympathetic and cerebrospinal system - and making the body, outwardly, somewhat hard to control or to manage, or to keep in the proper course of its activity in relationships to itself. These are effects and causes as produced in a disturbance between the sympathetic and the cerebrospinal nervous systems.
7. As to the ORGANS themselves of the body:
8. In the sensory organisms we find a response or reflex in normalcy with the general conditions of the system itself; an easy tendency towards a very poor circulation to the throat, nose, face; and soft tissue of throat and nasal passages gives distresses at times, especially when there are reactions in the body as we have indicated.
9. No organic disturbance in the lungs.
10. A very slow heart activity at times, and at others very quick; dependent upon the general conditions that react in the body.
11. Digestive area, as we find indicated - not only is the position of the stomach itself a contributory cause to the conditions in the body as related to digestion and to the abilities of the body to retain foods at times, but there is the tendency for the accumulations of gases and for an acidity to continue in the body itself, especially when there is the tendency to use those things that make for sediments to be left in excess in the organs of the liver and in the active forces of the spleen with the digestive area itself. Hence, as we find in the ministrations for this body, it would be very well for these to be DISCONTINUED as fast as possible, and in making the applications turn rather to those things that are continuing to be of a CONSTRUCTIVE
728-1 Page 3
nature for the whole condition of the body itself.
12. In the organs of the pelvis and the alimentary canal do we find the basis of much of the disorder; for in these do we find congestions where tissue being destroyed has tended to amalgamate or adhere where lymph circulation should act through the body.
13. Then, in meeting the needs as we find them for this body, [728], we are speaking of:
14. First we would massage into the areas of the caecum and liver a mixture of one part Aconite to two parts tincture of the opiate or Laudanum (opiate solution). Then lay over the same area the heavy salt packs (coarse salt in bags, heated). When such an application has made for a great deal of perspiration in the area, then apply the Castor Oil packs - three to four thicknesses of heavy flannel dipped in hot Castor Oil and applied as hot as the body can stand same, letting them extend across the whole of the abdomen. And apply OVER same the WET packs of very hot water, keeping these changed so as to keep the heat as near a hundred and ten as possible. Re-dip the flannels in the oil each hour. Keep the packs on the body for two to three hours at each treatment. And we would give these in this manner at least three times each week.
15. Each evening as the body is ready to retire, massage, into the spine - from the base of the brain to the end of the spine, all the body will absorb of a compound prepared in this manner:
16. To 6 ounces of Russian White Oil as the base, add (in the order named): Oil of Wintergreen.....................1 ounce, Oil of Cedar Wood......................1 ounce, Spirits of Camphor.....................1 ounce, Witchhazel.............................1 ounce, Carron Oil.............................1 ounce, Sassafras Oil..........................1 dram, Kerosene, or Coal Oil................1/2 ounce. These should be shaken together before they would be massaged into the cerebrospinal system. Begin at the base of the brain and massage TOWARDS the end of the spine. And be sure that the sacral and the lumbar area take ALL the body will absorb. Not rubbing so hard, but rather in a general CIRCULAR motion would these massages be given.
17. As to the matter of diet, we would keep rather those foods that are of an alkalin nature for the body (for it is necessary for the diet to be considered with this body).
728-1 Page 4
This may be used as an outline, though not these foods alone - see?
18. Mornings - citrus fruit juices or stewed fruits, or the glutens of the whole wheat or cooked cereal; but do not use citrus fruits AND cereal at the same meal. It would be preferable that these be given in small quantities at the time but given the more often.
19. Noons - preferably a liquid or semi-liquid diet, such as would be found in beef juices or broths or vegetable juices. Only take the beef juices in the middle of the day, not at other meals; not the broth of the beef, but the beef JUICES.
20. Evenings - first we would have rather the stimulations from light wine, or that which will form from the vine - or of the grape; a form of the necessary quantity of alcohol that will make for an activity with the gastric juices of the stomach AS these are being taken, see? A well-balanced vegetable and meat diet in the evening; but do not include beef or pork meat of ANY nature. Lamb or lamb stew, with the vegetables that will easily assimilate, will be well; or fish or fowl.
21. When the body is on the feet we would use rather a support to the abdomen and to the stomach itself, as a heavy cloth about same - very tight.
22. Follow these, as we find, for thirty days; then we would give those changes and those corrections necessary for this body, [728].
23. Ready for questions.
24. (Q) Should all the present medicines be discontinued? (A) As indicated, just as fast as possible discontinue these.
25. (Q) Will the treatment as suggested enable the body to sleep at night? (A) The rubs should enable her to sleep much better; gradually improving same as the activities of the diet and the changes in the conditions in the abdominal area and in the organs of the pelvis - and in the liver and spleen - gradually ADJUST themselves. It should be much better. Later we will find it will be necessary for ministrations in other directions, but - as we have given - do these for thirty days; then we may bring those things that will eliminate entirely this incoordination in the body.
26. (Q) Will any dangerous attacks occur during this treatment? (A) Attacks, of course, may occur; but these should be gradually decreased in their violence and in their duration. Then we may have the stimulation to the glands through other applications that may be prepared. But first we must eliminate the sedatives, for these are only making for not
728-1 Page 5
only a physical disorder but are tending towards the mental activities too!
27. (Q) How soon can the parents expect an improvement? (A) An improvement in fifteen to thirty days.
28. (Q) Should the body remain in bed, or can she enjoy herself as usual? (A) She should be able to enjoy herself as usual.
29. (Q) Any other suggestions for the better physical condition of this body? (A) As indicated, do these for the beginning - so that the activities of other influences may be given that may be effective and of a permanent nature. In the present these are only palliatives, and are NOT constructive palliatives - in the present. It is necessary to decrease the sedatives GRADUALLY, but as soon as possible be rid of these - as the applications are made that we have outlined. It is much better that the body ABSORB these than having to eliminate the dregs of same.
30. We are through for the present. Copy to Mother " " Ass'n file (The ingredients for the spinal massage may be obtained separately and added together as given. If some of these cannot be obtained from local druggist, apply to Eimer & Amend (old drug house), 18th St. & Third Ave., N.Y.C. Other directions should be clear. Let us hear in thirty days after following all treatments, so that appointment for check reading may be made - to give further instructions. GD.
