Time of Reading 3:10 to 3:35 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. L.I., N.Y. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [747].
2. Now, as we find, while in many respects conditions are very good physically, there are such disturbing factors that their correction would relieve many of the distresses that occur at times, and would prevent a great deal of distress - in some directions - further along. For while the disturbance in the heart activity is not in itself the disturbing factor, those disorders that cause or produce this disturbance in the metabolism if removed would make for a much better and for nearer a normal condition with the body.
3. These, then, are the conditions as we find them in the present:
4. We find the BLOOD SUPPLY abnormal in its circulation and in the pressures, yet these are rather the effects of conditions than being the circulatory system itself; and rather than the organs, other than reflexly being disturbed, they arise from other conditions.
5. In the NERVOUS SYSTEM do we find again the effect and also the cause of other conditions. In the cerebrospinal system we find specific conditions where subluxations cause the deflection through sympathetic conditions that arise from disaffected causing those periods when there are the reactions in the organs of digestion - those periods of nervousness and lack of the ability to rest normally, and when there are - as it were - the fears of the body that could not be named as to the cause of same. These are effects and causes. For, as we find in the cerebrospinal system, the specific condition is existent in the 8th and the 9th dorsal, and sympathetically in the 2nd lumbar, and - of course - reflexly, from those periods when the digestion becomes disturbed, in the upper cervical or those plexuses of the hypogastric and pneumogastric that cross in those
747-1 Page 2
portions of the system.
6. As to the ORGANS themselves of the body:
7. Brain forces are very good.
8. Organs of the sensory system show some reflex responses that make for at times an influence upon the functioning of the organs of the sensory system. But this is rather a reflex condition; as to the auditory forces, as to the throat and bronchi, as to the soft tissue in face and head - reflexes and sympathetic conditions.
9. Lungs and larynx are near normal in their functioning.
10. Heart's action, as indicated, shows a disturbance more from pressures in other portions of the system than of the organ itself being disturbed in its activity. Hence while we have specific conditions that disturb the body in this direction, these are rather reflex and sympathetic than organic.
11. Digestive area - again we find those periods when we have a very poor assimilation, and at other periods the digestive forces of the body are very good. Yet these arise from reflex conditions in the spleen and the pancreas and the functionings themselves of the organs of the liver as related to the bile duct secretions and the activities in same; though they are rather sympathetic conditions. However, in making the corrections - of these conditions that have been produced, that are reflexes and refractory reactions from nerve subluxations that have caused or produced the condition - these all will necessarily be taken into consideration.
12. The conditions that exist in the present are rather from those periods when there were the disturbances in the eliminations, through poor alimentary canal eliminations; or those conditions wherein that the systems become clogged by those things that produce impactions - like, in the colon area itself. And here we find is the greater cause of the disorders that make up for the disturbance in the organs of digestion and the heart's activity that has been disturbing the body at times. The condition is that of a plethora in a portion of the transverse and descending colon; not a prolapsus, either in the caecum or ascending or the descending, but at periods these are effects that apparently occur: For there may be periods when there is a heaviness in the right side lower down, and others when in the left side, with a continued fullness across the left portion of the transverse colon.
13. These are the conditions as we find them with this body.
14. As to the effect upon the organs of the hepatic circulation, there is produced the flushes - that is, the
747-1 Page 3
hot and cold periods, or periods when there is numbness to the feet partially - or times when apparently the hand or one limb or both limbs will be in the position of too easily going to sleep or becoming numb. These are the effects of the circulation attempting to adjust itself, and not from a heart action or heart disturbance.
15. Then, in meeting the conditions, then:
16. We would first begin with at least three to four high enemas; not just the enemas but rather the cleansing of the colon through colonic irrigations. These should be done with not too great a severity, or the attempting to cleanse the whole area at one period - but a little or a portion of same once each week until at least four have been taken. These should be with specific alkalin-reacting antiseptics, that do not not set up irritations by the removal or a great deal of the formations that make for pressures and gas reactions and pressures in the system. Hence we would use preferably in the first gallon and a half of water (which, of course, should be tepid - or near body temperature) two level teaspoonsful of salt and two heaping teaspoonsful of Bicarbonate of Soda. And in the last quart and a half or half a gallon of water as the cleansing solution, in each case we would put at least an ounce of Glyco-Thymoline as an intestinal antiseptic.
17. We find, too, that small quantities of Glyco-Thymoline taken internally occasionally will be most helpful to the whole conditions; three to five drops in half a glass of water taken every day or so.
18. After the body has had at least four of the cleansings of the colon area (requiring about a month), we would then have six to eight to ten adjustments and THOROUGH manipulations all along the cerebrospinal system - osteopathic adjustments, making SPECIFIC adjustments in the 8th and 9th and 7th dorsal areas, coordinating - to be sure - the lumbar and cervical areas with same. Such adjustments and manipulations would be given about twice each week.
19. We would be most mindful that there are the diets that tend to keep towards the laxative nature, rather than an acid or tending to make for a tendency towards constipation. Hence we would have a great deal, or great quantities at times of citrus fruit juices - and at other periods quantities of grapes. Let there be days when the whole day's food value would be only grapes; not with the seed, but these well masticated. Having whole periods when there would be such activities to make for the cleansing and changing of the toxic forces (that make for those pressures in the activities of the whole system throughout) will

overcome these tendencies.
20. Al-Caroid taken once or twice a day just after meals will be most helpful.
21. Doing these, we find, would bring the much nearer normal conditions for this body.
22. Ready for questions.
23. (Q) What causes pressure and pain in my chest whenever I use my arms? (A) The gas pressures from the close proximity of the engorgements in the transverse and descending colon area; that come close to the stomach and spleen and heart's action - and affect sympathetically through the secondary cardiac area to the brachial plexus. Also the same condition causes the heaviness at times in the feet, or those tendencies for them to go to sleep - or to become heavy.
24. (Q) Should I discontinue treatment with present doctor? (A) As we find, if these treatments are all followed closely as we have outlined here, these would be much more preferable - for they will be removing the causes, while the applications in the greater portion at present are only palliatives.
25. (Q) Why am I so nervous? (A) This has been illustrated, as to how the pressure in the cerebrospinal system is in such centers that the sympathetic system is under stress and strain; though the primary causes are from the subluxations in the cerebrospinal system.
26. (Q) What causes the dizzy spells? (A) Flow of the blood too much to the head and to the heart, by those same pressures as indicated through the secondary and the cardiac plexus area. Do these and, as we find, we will bring the better conditions and near normal reactions for this body, [747].
27. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file (See letter [which was enclosed] to The Reilly Service, with directions for giving the colonic irrigations. Also letter to Osteopath with directions for his treatments. The Al-Caroid is manufactured by the American Ferment Co., Buffalo, N.Y., but I think you can obtain it from most any drug store. Take as directed on bottle, or container, in
