1. [257]: The first reading will be on [759] who is in this room in Apt. ..., ... Street, New York City. You have in the room with the baby, the Doctor and his parents. When you have located the body, you will tell us what to do to relieve the present conditions that you find and we will ask you questions which you will answer slowly and distinctly as we are writing in shorthand.

2. EC: We have the body here. Not in this room. This we have had before, [759]. Again we find the accentuations of the distress as produced through cold and congestion with that of the natural developments as come from accumulations through the activity of system in creating that of teeth. In the present condition, however, there is seen that the glands in the throat and especially those that have to do with the auditory forces are involved and in the application for those conditions as would be helpful and as will bring the normal forces, these must be taken into consideration.

3. The first consideration must be the necessity of increased eliminations through alimentary canal without as near disturbing too much the digestive system. Then the conditions that as causes the temperature from the accumulations in the throat glands or in those about the base of the head and ears especially must be given consideration and that there is not too much pressure brought to bear on the ear drum itself, else there may be permanent injury, to same. This would be caused as much by inflammation and accumulation and pressure as by the actions in the body itself. As well as the pain or distress as is brought from same then we would give those properties as would be for the increased eliminations in the digestive or through the alimentary canal.

4. We would also use with these at least few drops of syrup of squill. This will aid in the action of the respiratory system. We would also take care of that condition that exists in the lungs itself through the application of those as may be found in antiphlogistine or hot onion poultice.

Either of these will relieve the pressure. Should this not reduce the temperature and accumulations still cause pressure in ear, then relieve the pressure by operative that will release same through this channel. The drainage set up and the condition relieved, these should relieve these pressures. Bathing of course to reduce temperature. Be mindful that there is not too much cold or draft on body but do not have same where there is not sufficient of the oxygen from supplying of the needs of body. Ready for questions.

5. (Q) Do the enlarged tonsils cause the frequent colds? (A) Enlarged tonsils are result as much of frequent colds. The condition of the cold is produced more from the conditions as exists in liver. It would not be injurious to the body when the teething time was over, to remove tonsils.

6. (Q) Was the statement made, 'liver' or 'lower'? (A) Liver.

7. (Q) What is the best laxative for the body when it is needed? (A) As we would find is that in the compound of castoria given properly.

8. (Q) What is the proper dose? (A) Few drops at time until the action is in the system properly. Given every 1/2 hour, few drops at time. This will reduce fever. This will produce activity through the digestive system without disturbing the equilibrium as more astringent conditions would.

9. (Q) Is the diet correct? (A) Very good. Very good Doctor.

10. (Q) Is sucking the blanket harmful to the throat condition? (A) It is.

11. (Q) How is best to stop him from it? (A) Just keep where that they may not be gotten hold of, or hands being kept away from same.

12. (Q) Does teething have any effect on causing fever? (A) It has made conditions where there is same. A developing body that with the disturbances with cold that all portions of system as function to make the accumulations necessary for the formation of teeth produce that tendency towards temperature may be expected in teething even then cold and congestion does not exist and when they are combined, may be expected.

13. (Q) Should an operation be necessary, what Doctor is recommended? (A) Doctor in charge should have charge of same. As given [Dr. Fischer], is very good Doctor.

14. (Q) Is there any danger of mastoids at the present time? (A) No danger of mastoids until there becomes too great an accumulation in the lungs where with the (lifting) of pains and accumulations from congestion by the poor elimination,

759-4 Page 3

it should become (effective) through the mastoids.

15. (Q) How often should the antiphlogistine be used? (A) Only to reduce that condition existent in lung and through the bronchial.

16. (Q) Is there any other advice for the Doctor? (A) These as are merely suggestions for the Doctor. He knows his business.

17. We are through with this reading.
