Time of Reading [Stroh Bldg.], 11:00 to 11:20 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. Detroit, Mich. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: [GC pronounced the address "Stroff Bldg.", spelling it S-t-r-o-h. EC pronounced it "Strohm", then repeated "Stroff."] Yes, we have the body, [763].

2. Now, as we find, there are conditions that disturb the better physical functionings of the body. In many respects there has been the tendency for applications to be made for effects rather than the causes of the conditions. This, then, has produced rather complications in the system. For the body responding and changing through the applications has made for some very discouraging experiences for the body. While they may not cause other than a great deal of anxiety, if the applications are continued for effects rather than causes we will eventually produce greater distresses and upsets in portions of the system.

3. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [763] we are speaking of:

4. In the BLOOD SUPPLY we find there are the indications of a HUMOR, as it were, in the circulation. This arises, as WE find, from seepages and poisons that are not eliminated properly through their normal channels. Hence we have those arising effects; producing abrasions over portions of the body, or irritated portions, and a tendency for the hardening of the cuticle in portions that become rough. These are the effects, but the causes arise from conditions - as we shall find - in pressures in the axis of the pelvis itself.

5. As to the NERVOUS SYSTEM, here we find disturbances both in the cerebrospinal and the sympathetic nervous systems; some - through those irritations that have been indicated - become more sympathetic reactions, and we have at others those where pressures are made, and we have an upsetting through the digestive area when nothing apparently tends to

763-1 Page 2

digest properly, while at others there is the tendency for the headaches, the dull heaviness that comes to the system, portions of the body where the skin becomes very dry and at others when there will be on the feet or hands or portions of the forehead or portions of the neck a cold, damp sweat. These are NERVOUS reactions; the worriments that come from these pressures on various portions of the organism affecting the system and thus producing those distresses. These necessarily, through the sympathetic system, affect the organs of the sensory system, so that the ear, the speech, the hearing at times become involved (not always, but) - these become accentuated, or there may be buzzing, or there may be phlegm accumulations in the bronchials of in the vocal organs. These are NERVE refractions and show disturbances through the circulation, as indicated, and where there is the constant use of any of these there is irritation produced to the organs themselves. For instead of carrying altogether replenishing forces and then carrying away drosses through the other portions of the cellular forces in the blood stream itself, there are DEPOSITS at times in any used portions. Hence muscular forces, as well as portions of the extremities, become affected. Hence we have a neuritic effect over the whole system.

6. As to the ORGANS themselves:

7. The brain forces are good.

8. The sensory organism is as indicated.

9. The lungs and the pulmonary reactions and the eliminations are not equally balanced; yet the circulation and pulsation and temperature of the body through those activities change very easily. These are the EFFECTS, not the causes but effects, of disturbances.

10. The digestive system, as with the heart, the liver and spleen, pancreas, and activities through the assimilating forces are upset through the nervous condition - and become a PART of the reactions at times; though organically and functionally they are not disturbed, save as a reflex in the nerve forces.

11. In the lumbar and the coccyx area, then, do we find the greater stress on this body, [763] we are speaking of. There is that tendency for the body to become unbalanced in its locomotion, or as it stands on its feet there is the tendency to shift from one foot to another. These pressures, of course, are very minute; but the taxations here produce the circulations to the jejunum, specifically, that make for the tendency of seepage to the system that causes the taxation in the blood supply. Those activities that arise from the nervous forces are the result both of

763-1 Page 3

activities through the seepages to the circulation and the pressure on the pelvic organs themselves.

12. As we find, then, in meeting the conditions of this body, the effects must be taken into consideration; yet the cause must be reached by making those corrections from the activity in the system where pressures are created in the lower lumbar, sacral and coccyx area. These we would relieve by the corrections in a MANIPULATIVE measure, which may be done either through the general massage - as in taking a sweat bath AND massage with same, and then the pressures made, or they may be relieved through the general osteopathic manipulations. These would be made specifically around the coccyx area, in the 4th lumbar, and naturally coordinating the cervicals - through the hypogastric and pneumogastric plexus - to coordinate with the rest of the system. If the manipulations or adjustments are made with the massage method, there would be necessitated a treatment each day. If they are made with the adjustments and osteopathic manipulations, a treatment would be required about three times each week.

13. After each meal for three to four days at the time, take a small quantity of Al-Caroid internally - as an assistant in the flow of the gastric juices in the stomach proper.

14. Also we would find it effective to take a small quantity of Milk of Bismuth with Lactated Pepsin occasionally. This will make for a gastric flow and an activity in the mucous membranes through the lymph circulation, through the jejunum, as to make for HEALING and not irritations through these portions. Take this about three or four times each week; a teaspoonful Milk of Bismuth and six drops or minims of Essence of Lactated Pepsin stirred together in a whole glass of water.

15. We would also find it most beneficial to apply the very low form of electrical vibration that may be had from the Radio- Active Appliance. This would be applied as the body rests of an evening BEFORE retiring. This is preferable, for this body, to attempting to apply it after having retired. This we would use in the regular order; the left wrist and right ankle one day, the right wrist and left ankle the next day - for a period of thirty minutes to one hour each evening.

16. Be mindful of the diet that it is kept tending towards a well-balance, yet more of an alkalin than an acid reaction.

17. Do these.

18. Ready for questions.

19. We are through for the present. [See 763-1, Par. R1.]
