Clark's Summit, Time of Reading near 3:40 to 3:50 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. Scranton, Penna. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [774]; it isn't very NEAR Scranton! This we have had before.
2. Conditions, as we find, are very much improved in the general physical forces of the body. While there are those conditions that still disturb the body with the manner in which there is the inflammation in the eye, or in the lids and the iris, these - as we find - are somewhat on the improve. We would use the potato poultice, scraped old Irish potato - not new; put the scraped potato in a gauze and place on the eye (with it closed); not the potato directly to the eye in this particular case, but in a gauze, and sufficient quantity of it to fill the whole socket space. Let this remain as the body rests, for an hour to an hour and a half; then take off. It will be found that considerable amount of inflammation will be drawn out. Do this for two to three days, or two or three evenings; then rest by leaving it off for two or three days - if it makes for too great an irritation, which at times it would, dependent upon the newness or oldness of the potato, you see, that is used. When the poultice is removed each time, cleanse the eye with a weak solution of boracic acid. This will make for a cleansing of the inflammation from these conditions. These would be used occasionally; two to three days at a time, then a rest period, gradually letting the periods of application get farther and farther apart, see?
3. We would also keep those stimulations in the upper dorsal and through the cervical area, to stimulate the circulatory forces to the head and the neck; and especially the centers about the vagus nerves. For branches of these to the hypogastric and pneumogastric make for an association with those activities for a stimulating for the reverse circulation to the head, and particularly to those portions of the iris or eyes.
4. Also we would be very mindful that the diet is kept very

much in the manner and way that has been indicated. While the changes in the type of the water and those in the surroundings in some respects are not as good as in other conditions that have been, it will be much better for the body to be precautious as to the eliminations. Use or take those food values in and among those as indicated for the body that are the more of the laxative nature. These will make for the greater improvement and the better conditions for this body, [774].
5. Ready for questions.
6. (Q) Why does not my left eye get well? (A) The inflammation has been so much set up that there is continued to be the reinfectious forces as arise from the poor circulation or poor STIMULATION for resuscitating forces. So there is the necessity for the use of those properties as indicated, and the continuation of the applications for the stimulation of the circulatory forces through same. This does not mean leave off anything; we only add those as indicated for the conditions, see?
7. (Q) Other than laxative foods, should I take anything for constipation? (A) If it becomes necessary and the body feels laggard or dull from the non-activity from same, it would be well to use Syrup of Figs - or Syrup of Figs with a combination of the Syrup of Senna; these will be very good.
8. (Q) Should all former treatment be continued? (A) All former treatments. These, of course, are not to be as REGULAR, but they should be continued in periods, so that we will continue to make for improvements, see?
9. We are through with this reading.
