Time of Reading 3:00 to 3:15 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., N.Y. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [788].
2. Now, we find there are many disturbing influences in the physical forces of the body. Oft we find those points are reached where there is little resistance in the physical body, yet the organs continue to function even under many distresses. The soul grows weary with the infirmities of age, as well as with those inabilities of the mental and physical coordinations in the body.
3. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [788]:
4. The BLOOD SUPPLY indicates a great deal of toxic forces in the system. With so many of the nerve centers incoordinant with the general activity of the body, there are weaknesses in the locomotion; those trembling, unsteady movements about as the body attempts to make for activities; those hindrances to the organs of the sensory system that are so acute at times and yet respond so little at others - as in the voice, as in the taste, as in the sight, as in the hearing. Yet these are only the effects that are indicated from the toxic forces that make for distresses in various portions, when pain becomes so acute at times from the stiffness - and yet at others from the crystallization of the salts of the system itself not eliminated through their proper channels.
5. As we find, while there may not be CURATIVE measures to the extent of making for a body NEW, there may be HELPFUL measures to the general condition; making for an aid to the general physical forces of the system, aiding in making for the proper stimulations that would make for the rest and the activities of the body in a very much more active force or manner, and bringing ease and rest and a much more pleasant outlook by the mental activities of the body itself.
6. We would prepare, then, a TONIC for the body - in this
788-1 Page 2
manner:
7. To 1 gallon of distilled water, add: Wild Cherry Bark...............1 ounce, Sarsaparilla Root..............1 ounce, Yellow Dock Root.............1/2 ounce, Burdock Root.................1/2 ounce, Prickly Ash Bark.............1/4 ounce, Blossom of Fennel............1/4 ounce, Mandrake Root..................2 grains, Buchu Leaves...................5 grains. Reduce by slow boiling until when it is stained there is 1 quart left. Then we would add 3 ounces of pure grain alcohol, with 2 drams Balsam of Tolu cut in same. Shake the solution well together before the dose is taken, which would be 1/2 teaspoonful before the meals - morning, noon and night - and before retiring.
8. Also we find it would be very helpful and restful for the body to have each evening, just before retiring, a gentle massage along the whole of the cerebrospinal system, and extending even to the tips of the extremities - arms and limbs; using a small quantity - just what the body absorbs (and this won't be very much in the beginning) - of an equal combination of Olive Oil and Tincture of Myrrh; heating the oil to add the Myrrh.
9. As to the food values, we would use the semi-liquid diet; or foods that are body-building. Citrus fruit juices a great deal mornings, noon and night. The gruels of any cooked nature, to alter or change the diet from time to time. The Arrowroot as a specialty, or as a dessert at times. Meat juices in very small quantities at times - that is, the pure beef juice; this preferably given between meals, if prepared properly - not more than half to a teaspoonful given at a time, though it may be given as often as an hour apart if so desired by the body. Then there may be the juices of meats (with not too much grease in same) mixed with juices of vegetables; either those that are cooked in steamers or in Patapar paper only the JUICES of these mixed together would be the better.
10. These, as we find, would bring for this body, [788], the greater strength, the greater vitality, and a much easier condition throughout.
11. Ready for questions.
12. (Q) What caused the condition that he now has? (A) A blood clot, that has made for a poor circulation, and in the natural nature of it making for a deficiency in the
788-1 Page 3
assimilating forces through the body.
13. (Q) What exercise can the body take under the circumstances? (A) Not a great deal in the beginning, but with the rubs and with the diet and the tonic, we find that the conditions may be gradually aided or helped wherein the locomotions will be particularly aided.
14. (Q) What will help him mentally? (A) To make for a nearer coordination between the mental and physical forces of the body, as indicated, by the proper stimulation to take off the toxic forces.
15. (Q) How much of a recovery can be expected and what can we do to furnish it? (A) This would depend upon not only the response but as to how consistently and persistently the applications are made.
16. (Q) Who would be recommended to handle the massage? (A) Anyone that's interested sufficiently to do it PROPERLY and consistently. Either one in the home or a good masseur. Do these, for the better relationships and conditions for this body - for the present.
17. We are through. Copy to Daughter " " Ass'n file (See letter [which was enclosed] with directions to Druggist. Also directions for making pure beef juice.)
