Time of Reading Apt. 16, ..., 3:25 to 3:55 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. Washington, D.C. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [800].

2. Now, as we find, there are some disturbing conditions in the physical forces of the body. These taken in time, however, may be the more easily eradicated from the system, and the functioning of the organs and the effect of the reactions of the disturbance brought to a near normal condition.

3. These conditions, as we find, are from the lack of the proper functioning of organs as related to the eliminations and their coordinating in the activity of these disturbances with other functional conditions of the body.

4. Then, these are the conditions as we find them with this body, [800], we are speaking of, present in this room:

5. The BLOOD SUPPLY we find somewhat deficient in the quantity as well as in quality, being near three and a half million of the red blood cells deficient. This is from the lack of proper assimilation and the incoordination in the katabolism and metabolism of the system in drawing upon that portion of the system, for it has been necessary for keeping a balance in coagulations as used energy or the vitality of the body is drawn upon. Hence we may say there is a form of anemia. This condition, or drawing upon the system in the manner indicated, has made for a torpidity and a condition in the lobes of the liver in such a way and manner that we have these reactions in the sympathetic nervous system and others, as we shall see, in the functioning of organs.

6. In the NERVE SYSTEM we have the tendency for restlessness, or the body is unable to at times make the concentration, especially in relationships with individuals or groups; not so much in its activities. Then we have periods when there are hot and cold flushes; tendencies for the extremities to feel a numbness, or for the limbs apparently to become asleep or numb. Then we have the reactions in the coordination of the faculties when there

800-1 Page 2

are periods that things do not taste as they should; others when the way the body has thought concerning individuals, self, the moral relations, the theologian expressions or philosophies, does not seem to answer or satisfy the general unrest. This is not merely from a torpid liver but, as indicated, there are many functioning organs disturbed - through the activity of the eliminations in the alimentary canal. These make for disorders that affect the functionings of the eliminations, when pressures are made upon the activity in the kidneys so that there are irritations with the bladder, and the organs of the pelvis become - as it were - CONSCIOUS more of their activity in the system when those actions make for the repressions or the conditions in the nervous forces of the body. This has tended to make for an accumulation in the caecum area of the body, so that we have along the right side - just below the liver area, just above the hip - a heaviness, with an acuteness at times in the opposite side or in the left side. This is more localized, but never is there the same consciousness of it - except in the heaviness or acuteness.

7. In the ascending colon, then, we have an accumulation that makes for an engorgement there.

8. These are the effects of conditions, and - as we find - the specifics arise from a tendency in the lumbar axis of an unbalancing of the weight, or pressure that has - with the activities of the body - gradually brought on these alterations in nerves, and reacting on same in the functioning of the organs as related to the body.

9. In the functioning of the ORGANS themselves, we find:

10. Brain forces are very good. The activities as to detail, minutia, are evidenced in the positions of the nerve reactions to the organs of the whole body. Little escapes making an impression upon the mental attributes of the body. Easily may the body tell, when seeing an accident, any room individuals or the like, in great detail much of how the body-reactions or impressions were.

11. In the soft tissue of the head and throat we have those reactions at times from the effect of a poor circulation; as a drying, smarting at times, that affects the sensory organisms - that must necessarily be eliminated without causing a great deal of trouble either to the eyes, hearing, or without it settling in the throat or nose. These are only indications in the present, but at times are very apparent.

12. In the bronchi, throat, lungs and larynx, we find these are very good considering the manner under which the respiratory system acts in accordance with these reflexes

800-1 Page 3

from a disturbed circulation and a less quantity of blood supply. No organic disturbance. Little functioning disturbance, unless there are those periods when the body is under excess or acute excitement or overtaxing by long standing on the feet, or overexercises that make for the heaviness arising in or under the point of the shoulder blades, or from the axis of the brachial centers. These are rather sympathetic conditions, as are the pulsation and the heart's activity. Here no organic disturbance.

13. As to the stomach itself, here we find a sympathetic condition from the activities from the gastric flow, as well as at times a regurgitation from the duodenum from the repressions in the liver area that make for the awareness of a fullness at times across the abdomen, especially over the lower portion of the spleen area. These are only reflexes and sympathetic conditions.

14. The organs disturbed, then, are those of the hepatic circulation, or the liver and its concurrent activity with the pancreas, spleen, gall duct, eliminations through the system; the activities of the spleen, the kidneys, and the eliminations through the canals that make for drainages in the system in the pelvic organs and jejunum and colon and those activities throughout - that are indicated as showing sympathetic and functional disturbance.

15. Then, in making corrections that may bring about the normalcy for this body, [800], we are speaking of, present in this room, first we find that just for the very activity of the body-mind to know the causes will be a relief for the body itself. But, as in the analyzing and in the carrying forward from an analytical mind's activity, it is necessary for specific conditions of specific natures to be accomplished that there may be the reactions or corrections brought about that will make for a normalcy or a betterment throughout the whole body.

16. First, then, we would begin with the vibrations from electrical applications; and, as we find, the best for the body in the present would be the violet ray - but take same with the Animated Ash. We would take, then, every day an eighth grain of Animated Ash. Empty this from the capsule and take with a small swallow of water. Three to five minutes after taking the Ash (and this would be preferably given just before the body is ready to retire), give - from ten to fifteen minutes - the violet ray, principally across the diaphragm area and specifically over the liver area and gall duct and then along the whole of the cerebrospinal system.

17. As we find, three to five deep osteopathic manipulations

800-1 Page 4

would be excellent to aid in making for the coordinations of the centers especially in the lumbar plexus that show for the unbalancing. Necessary, to be sure, that we coordinate the 9th dorsal center, the brachial center and the 3rd, 4th and 5th dorsal area, and the cervicals from the whole area of these including the hypogastric and pneumogastric plexus, as well as specific activity or pressures applied for the vagus nerves or the fifth nerve, so that the internal circulation which is stimulated by the revivifying of the centers by the electrical forces and the recarbonizing of the blood supply may be particularly aided.

18. Then, be mindful of the diet. To be sure, this should be in the form of blood building; with the proper vibrations and radiations and the revivifying of the functioning of the organs themselves. So we would have rather, then, an alkalin-reacting diet. Not that the body is to set itself in the position that the diet becomes the RULE, but knowing in which direction the foods should act - and those things that will aid most in correcting the influences in the body - the body should take what is necessary. The alkalin-reacting foods in the main, though, would be the better. We would alter specifically the breakfasts. We would have citrus fruit juices, coddled egg with no white, and at other periods the barley malt with the whole wheat or cracked wheat and barley malt. These will add the necessary iron, silicon and the vitamins combined in same, to stimulate the assimilating forces in the lacteal ducts and to build and strengthen the body. We would have one or two meals each week, at least, of broiled calves' liver. This has those vitamins necessary also for the increasing of that balance in the homones [hormones?] and the urea of the blood forces that may be acted upon by such stimulation.

19. Necessary that we at times eliminate through the alimentary canal by the use of colonic irrigations. These should not be taken too often, but in the first two or three take sufficient that we remove the mucous that is indicated as an accumulation in the ascending colon in the present. Three, then, would be taken in about two weeks; then a month or six weeks apart should be sufficient - if the diet is carried in such a way as to make for body-building.

20. Do these and we will bring for the body a near normal condition.

21. Ready for questions.

22. (Q) Could Dr. H. B. Bressler [H. Bond Bressler, D.C.] give me these treatments successfully? (A) Except for the osteopathic manipulations and adjustments, the most of these treatments suggested may be

800-1 Page 5

taken by self!

23. (Q) On account of my present employment may I take these treatments after work? (A) As indicated, most of these treatments should be taken just before retiring. Of course, the manipulations, the adjustments for the specific centers as indicated in the lumbar - and coordinating those in the central and upper dorsal and through the cervical area - five to six of these should be sufficient, but arrangements may be made to have these given in the evening as well as at any other period.

24. (Q) How long should I follow these treatments? (A) This will necessarily depend upon the consistency and persistency in following same. We will see changes in a very few days, if these are followed. There will be some periods of reactions when the body will not feel so well; for remember, the body has builded on that which has become sort of a constitutional condition to do without the blood supply necessary for the nutriment; and the body has tended to live a good deal on its nerves. But these conditions would soon pass away, if there is the persistence that should be.

25. (Q) Outline a diet for me. (A) As indicated, it is more preferable not to set an outline, "Well, I can't eat this or that; I mustn't do this or that," for this body as well as any other body! But an alkalin-reaction in the main is more preferable for the diet. ABSTAIN from these - and then we will have the rest almost as indicated: Not a great deal of bananas in any form, or raw apples. Nuts - when these are taken let them be filberts or almonds, that are much more preferable. Meats - do not eat hog meat in ANY manner, save a little crisp bacon occasionally. NEVER any hog meat, and especially none uncured. Not a great deal of heavy fats; these are harmful for the body. But most of the other things for a normal diet are the more preferable. Not fried foods either; these work upon the conditions in the liver and are not good for the body.

26. (Q) Dr. Riley D. Moore for the osteopathic treatments - would he be alright? (A) Yes, he would be very good; VERY good. Make the manipulations or adjustments in the lumbar, COORDINATING the others with same. Do these, and we will bring those conditions for the body so that its outlook upon life, the whole of the perspective will be raised. For with torpidity in self and worriments in the mental, these are hand in hand with great irritation

800-1 Page 6

- and close down the horizon even of hope.

27. (Q) I have diarrhea all the time. Will this treatment take care of this? (A) When we remove the irritations as indicated in the caecum area, we overcome these conditions by removing the mucous, that is as an accumulation - causing irritations to the flow. As the pressures are taken off the lumbar and 9th dorsal, these will materially aid also.

28. We are through for the present. Two copies to Self (one for the Osteopath) Copy to Ass'n file (See copy of letter [which was enclosed] explaining the Animated Ash and where obtained. Also list of Alkalin-Reacting Foods of which your principal diet should consist. If everything is not clear, let us know. GD)
