This Psychic Reading given by Edgar Cayce at 1867 Kalorama Road, Washington, D.C., this 2nd day of February, 1935, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [809], new Active Member of the Association for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mrs. [694].

R E A D I N G

Born January 2, 1888, in Patricksburg, Indiana. Time of Reading 3:30 to 4:20 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. Washington, D.C. (Life Reading Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the entity and those relations with the universe and universal forces, that are latent and manifested in the personalities of the entity now known as or called [809].

2. In giving what we find are the experiences of the entity in the sojourns in the earth and those environs to which the entity passed in the interim, it is well that the entity classify or understand the difference in the entity's sojourn in materiality and those environs that are commonly called astrological influences or activities. When in materiality or the earth the activities are as in the present, though under the environs of that particular or individual period of development in man's sojourn in the earth; while when in the environs after transition from materiality into that termed spirituality or the realm of the cosmic consciousness that which an entity has manifested in the earth or materiality becomes that environ in which it passes for its further development. Remember ever, then, that an All-Wise Creative Energy has prepared a place for each soul, each entity, that it - the entity-soul may prepare, may be, that for which it came into being as a consciousness to be one with, a companionship with, that Creative Energy - God. Hence the activities of an entity in whatever sphere of consciousness in which it may find itself are not measured by how much or how little it is aware of the divine, but what the entity IN that realm does about what it knows of the divine energy. Being a soul is a portion of that divine energy which is everlasting, as everlasting as that energy itself. Thus, if there is the continued period or phase of activity that is for self-exaltation, then the entity may be said to be SEPARATING itself - or LOSING its relationship. For, those that make for the worshipfulness, the glorifying of the

First Cause, are mindful of the first command to man in the expression that has been given, "Thou shalt have no other God before me," before the I AM of the soul. Hence from these angles, then, do we view this entity, [809].

3. From the astrological sojourns we find these influencing the innate or the mental visions of the entity, the SPIRITUAL self:

4. High mental abilities from the sojourns in the Mercurian influence. One given to great detail, then, in its associations of things, people, or whatever the activity of the entity may be with those things in materiality they find themselves in what may be said to be rote or form, or a cause, a purpose for the activities of the inner self.

5. The Jupiterian influence or sojourn makes for the natural tendencies that arise for the entity's association with minutia or detail having to do with the experience of large groups of individuals in materiality; those things having to do with ways and means and activities of individuals for the easier expressions of selves in their activities. In this we will find that in the early spring of the present year the Jupiterians will find there will come a period of more the benevolent influence in these directions, affording each entity thus inclined greater opportunities for self-advancement and with same the opportunities for self-indulgences. Hence, as ever, the choice must be made by such entities.

6. But as the influences from Venus make for that often termed as loving indifference in the experience of the entity, and as Jupiter and Venus are in those positions in May, June, until September, of being both in the positions of a benevolent influence upon those of their own indwellers, these periods will be for the entity those when - through the high esteem in friendships, in the more material relationships - there will be brought peace and harmony, IF these are taken in their proper attitude.

7. Then, as to the effect these sojourns have made for the personality, or rather the individuality of the entity (though oft from some of the more material sojourns we will find experiences of indulgences that would make for the tendencies for others to find that which would belie these INNATE activities in the entity), we find:

8. One of high mental ability, given to be in its general sense amiable; rather indulgent with others at times, yet loving in those senses of the high moral obligations for those in the various stages or periods of associations.

9. One that may make for GREAT advancement in this particular experience or sojourn.

10. Its associations depend upon the entity, yet the entity oft questions its abilities to counsel or guide others. If the entity at such periods would rely upon the INTUITIVE forces that are as psychic or soul developments of the entity, these may become as the STRENGTH of the bulwark of faith, even of the house of hope, even to that stay of faith.

11. Oft have there been periods in the present sojourn when what have been its highest ideals have been much shattered by loss of confidence, rather than faith, in individuals. Yet, keep that which was first given. Know He hath prepared the way that all may know Him. Use, then, that thou hast from period to period, and thus may there come - with the wisdom of the sages, with the intuitive forces of those knowledges of the promises in Him - the greater blessings in HARMONIOUS manners in the experience in the present.

12. Then, as to the sojourns in the earth and those that have their influence upon the activities of the entity in the present, we find:

Before this the entity lived on the earth in that land nigh unto the dwelling of the entity in the present, during those periods when there were the establishings of that land now known as the Maryland, when there was the gathering together of those that would make for the giving of the laws, the establishing not as an individual group but rather as the combination or the colonization of same.

14. The entity aided in those activities where there were the separations between what is commonly termed Church and State; not as the priest, not as one outwardly in high authority, but one close to those in authority - or those set in authority; for the entity then was in the name Mary Ann Baltimore.

15. In the experience the entity aided in the counsels to many, to those in high places, to those that were disturbed as to their religious affiliations. For in that particular group there was not the seeking so much for their own independence as there was the seeking not to BECOME dependent upon those who had declared their religious independence, or under their authority.

16. Throughout the greater portion of the experience the entity gained in its activities, yet there gradually crept in intolerance to some of those that would rise in acclaiming their OWN independence. Thus in the present we find the entity oft is "put to", as it were, to wholly forget as well as forgive those whom it feels have mistreated or misused or misconstrued the entity's meanings in its activities and associations.

17. Hence that injunction again, let thy intuitive forces be "Forgive," if ye would be forgiven by Him who is the Giver of all good and perfect gifts, however they may find their manifestations in materiality.

18. Before that we find the entity was during the period now known as the Roman oppression to the teachings of the Galilean who had, as the Son of man, walked in the earth and given those tenets, those understandings, those hopes, those faiths, to those that knew that the LORD LIVES!

19. The entity then was among the Roman people in authority during the sojourns of Augustus Caesar, when many lands were disturbed through the activity of the material powers in that particular land; yet the entity came the closer in touch with those that had been in authority in the Palestine or Holy Land, or the land of those wanderings of that man of God.

20. And as those tenets began to find their activity among the peoples, the entity first scoffed, then listened, then accepted. This brought through the material activities, the material surroundings, periods of fear, doubt, consternation; yea, periods of joy to be counted worthy as one that might in a small measure or large give not only of her means but of herself that others might know that the REDEEMER LIVES, and is at the right hand of the Father to make intercession for those who in their ignorance and in their willfulness turn their faces against Him!

21. The entity gained throughout that sojourn, in the name then Elmiraon. In the present the entity's experience and associations in the activity of those tenets that make for the carrying on of those things taught follow as afar, yet they are the basis of the greater portion of the entity's activities in its dealings with its fellow man.

22. Before that we find the entity was in that land now known as the Indian, during those periods when there were the tenets being turned into the activities in the moral, the material, the spiritual life of the peoples from the now Arabian land.

23. And the entity, among those of the household of the rulers or supervisors of the land, attempted oft to put into activity much of that which was brought by word of mouth to that land by those that in their commercial activities, yea those that sought for bodily aid, sought for mental understanding; for these all, as it were, were reported to the Princess - as the entity was in that period.

24. Such activities made for periods of questionings by those without and those from within the immediate surroundings of the entity, and some questioned; yet the

entity remained in that same attitude through the greater portion of the experience, only succeeding in part but laying the foundation of much that later became the activities which are of such great meaning to those people in that particular land in the present day.

25. The activities of those people are of particular interest to the entity in the present, even though it has often tried to put such away, apart, aloof. Yet many of the abilities of the entity in its associations and relations with those as to matters of detail relating to commerce and things of the commercial world, the mental and material world, arise from the activities of the entity during that sojourn as the Princess Ihthma.

26. In the present also we find from such experiences the innate ability of the entity to oft tell individuals what they are thinking of.

27. Before that we find the entity was in the land now known as or called the Egyptian, during those periods when there were turmoils and strifes in the land through the activities of the King, and during the banishment of the Priest, when there were the rebellions and beginnings of those incomings of those from other lands.

28. The entity then was among those who came from what is now known as the Arabian land, or the Holy Land, for the overrunning of same, or attempts to aid in some of the rebellions; yet with those settlings and establishings again of the Priest and the tenets that made for the preserving of the records, those activities that dealt with the making of those things that brought about the establishing of the hospitalization, those studies of the need of the body, the need of the mind, the need of the spiritual things in the experiences of others, the entity aided much. The entity was then under those who were the supervisors of the young in that particular period of activity, in the name Apht-Sheher.

29. In the experience the entity became self-indulgent, yet gained in the latter portion of the sojourn; for with the establishings of the aid to the young came the development for the love of the records, of those tenets that would aid the most UNLEARNED to MAKE an advancement for their own offspring.

30. In the present sojourn, then, and that to which the entity may attain as for its greater soul development:

31. Those things dealing with or pertaining to the activities of child life, child psychological conditions, child associations and child developments, these would give the greater opportunity, the greater field of activity for

the entity in bringing about those influences and experiences that may aid the mental, the material, and - most of all - the soul development.

32. Remember, the Lord loveth those that LOVE to do His biddings without being tempted.

33. Ready for questions.

34. (Q) How should I shape my life for its best work? (A) As we find, in those fields of activity in which the entity, the body, the mind, may give itself towards the young of the land, the young of any district, the young of any city, of any group.

35. (Q) Would I marry and be happy? (A) This depends upon those meetings of those associations in those activities in the various fields in which the entity may apply itself. If the association were with one in such a field of activity that has been indicated, well! If it were with one in more of the commercial field, or dealing with the fruits of metals or the like, not so well.

36. (Q) Could I help my children by remaining here, or should I go back home; not materially but spiritually, and for their future happiness? (A) In the present, for the material and for their spiritual development, remain. In those periods when the greater benevolent influences are such that the opportunities are given for the advancement and development in such fields as indicated, have them near thee!

37. (Q) How can I have them, when at work? (A) Let the work - that will be those activities - be such that these are one, see?

38. (Q) Please explain - I do not quite understand. (A) As the activities may be, through those suggestions indicated, turned into those fields dealing with the welfare of the young in all phases, then these things will make for such associations that these become a portion of the work - in the wedded life, see?

39. (Q) What course should I pursue to develop my son [824]'s genius? (A) In making the opportunities for the expression of same from more and more the SPIRITUAL side of the nature of the entity or body [824], see? In giving more and more opportunity for self-expression in those activities.

40. (Q) In other words, I should let him go on developing his music? (A) BY ALL MEANS! This is EXPRESSION!

41. (Q) And I can continue to inspire him indirectly? (A) Can continue to inspire him, by those very things that make for EXPRESSION of self.
