Time of Reading ... Street, 3:00 to 3:30 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. Washington, D.C. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [810].
2. Now, as we find, there are disturbing conditions in the physical forces of the body. These, as we find, in their cause have been of long standing. Hence the system has attempted to adjust itself to the disturbing factors, so that in giving conditions there may APPEAR more serious disturbance than exists. For, as the causes are eliminated and the body begins to function in a nearer normal manner, many conditions that disturb at times will disappear.
3. These are the conditions, then, as we find with this body, [810], present in this room:
4. The BLOOD SUPPLY, we find, is below the normal in both red and white blood supply. While the condition is anemia, this is not the cause of the anemia; for there is in the blood stream and in those portions of the system from which, through which the cellular forces or blood count are active, that which BUILDS; so that these portions will function, if the organs of assimilation and the organs of clarification or oxidization are purified to the extent where there may become a normal reaction for the body. These are below normal in quantities in the red blood, though the pulsation and the pressure of the blood supply is at varience to the general condition owing to the system's attempting to use that which IS existent and that which is built to the very best advantage, as it were.
5. As to the NERVOUS SYSTEM of the body, here we find the body has often times gone - or forced, or been active much, it might be said - upon sheer nerve energy. While these taxations have been that which has brought a contributory cause to the general disturbances, we find that these would gradually adjust themselves with - of course - the natural reactions that may be expected with changes, to a much nearer normal condition.
810-1 Page 2
6. In the functioning of the ORGANS themselves, we find:
7. Discernments in the brain forces are well.
8. The organs of the sensory system - as the eyes, ears, nasal passages and the organs of the sensory system - show impairment, owing to the GENERAL debilitation through the inactivity of being properly replenished through the building up of the nerve and blood energies. These would also improve with changed conditions in the body.
9. The throat, bronchi, lungs and larynx - through the bronchi and lungs where there have been at times conditions that made for the lack of proper clarification through infectious forces, through the inability to clear the lung area, there are conditions that are contributory to the disturbing forces; for we do not have a sufficient area or a sufficient quantity of the blood supply passing through these for clarification. And the poisons that are thrown off through the respiratory system are at times carried back for the elimination through OTHER channels, owing to the very nature of those conditions that first or primarily contributed to the disturbing conditions.
10. Heart's action, as indicated through the conditions in the respiratory system - as in the circulatory system, becomes a portion of disturbance but not an organic; rather a functional or reflex or sympathetic condition to the general disturbances of the body.
11. In the digestive system we have had at various times a great deal of disturbance. First there were those conditions from which there arose the tendency for the position of the stomach itself to give rise to disturbing conditions. Then there were those reactions in the gastric flow, so that the superacidity caused lacerations in portions of the stomach. This first caused a congestion or catarrhal congestion. Then we had thru the duodenum and to the liver a disturbance that has affected (still, we find, under suppression) those activities of the lobe of the liver, that shows a poorer circulation than should pass through same. And the gall duct areas, and where there are those activities that at times back have caused distress, are a portion of the disturbance - or the disturbing factors in the system. Those formations, too, from these conditions in the lacteal ducts, or those activities of the proper balance of the conditions for assimilation, those abilities for assimilation through the duodenum, through the activity of the pylorus and the lacteals, we find are DEFICIENT. Thus there have been disturbances, and there continues to be the lack of sufficient activity to bring the best for the body.
810-1 Page 3
12. These poisons that have been indicated in the attempts to be thrown off through the respiratory system and carried back to the body have at times found their effects in the circulation that slows up through the muscular and tendon forces; so that the hands, the arms, the limbs, the shoulders at times have given distresses through those pressures created there, that - as we find - arise more from those areas about the entrance from the pylorus to the jejunum; and then those periods when there has been the lack of the proper peristaltic movement or the lymph flow thru the activity to cause the peristaltic movement to be normal. These have brought their effect, too, upon the general conditions of this body, [810] we are speaking of.
13. The reflex conditions for the coordinating between the liver circulation and the kidneys, the organs of the pelvis, have had and do have their sympathetic reaction in those disturbances of the circulation and the lack of the vitality for the restoring of energy of the functioning of the organs through the kidneys, the adrenals, the organs of the pelvis the bladder; and the eliminating systems in these have come in for the portion of surcharging the system with poisons again. Hence we have had a respiratory system that has been, is at times, very much disturbed.
14. Then, in meeting the needs of these conditions for this body in the present, as we find:
15. First we would begin with Castor Oil packs over the liver and the lacteal ducts area (over the pyloric end of the stomach itself and over this portion of the system). These we would keep two, three, four days, of two or three hours each day, until there is absorbed by the system from these hot packs sufficient for the activity of the lymph circulation to be increased through these areas.
16. Then we would begin with a gentle sweat; not raising the temperature of the body too high, but preferably that which may be had from a combination of witchhazel and camphor steam bath, you see. This may be had by RUBBING the body with equal parts of witchhazel and oil of wintergreen, and then rubbing this thoroughly over the body and wrapping the body in a wet blanket that would make for perspiration over the body, you see. Then have a good rubdown after same. This would be taken once or twice a week, and ESPECIALLY massage the spine with a combination prepared in this manner:
17. To 4 ounces of Russian White Oil as the base, or in this proportion, add: Oil of Cedar Wood..............1/2 ounce,
810-1 Page 4
Oil of Wintergreen.............1/2 ounce, Olive Oil........................1 ounce, Kerosene, or Oil of Kerosene.....1 ounce, Oil of Sassafras................20 minims. This will tend to separate, but keep in a container and shake well together before massaging into the body; then pour a small quantity in an open saucer and massage in the spine what the body will absorb. It would be well when this is done to also massage it into the abdomen, across those areas from the diaphragm down, and when massaging same massage over the lower portion of the liver, across the edge of the pancreas, the spleen, down on the sides; or follow the course of the colon - this is better; down the right side, up from the caecum area, across, and down the left side, you see. All of this that the body will absorb will be most helpful, most beneficial to the body.
18. When these have been taken for a couple of weeks, then go through the same procedure - first the application of the Castor Oil packs, then beginning again with the sweats and the rubdowns only AFTER the sweats.
19. In the matter of the diet, be MOST careful. Keep an alkalin-building diet. This would be only an outline:
20. Mornings - do not have starches with the citrus fruits at the same meal. With the citrus fruits may be taken coddled egg, whole wheat toast. Or if cereals are used (instead of the citrus fruits; NOT together), preferably have the whole wheat or cracked wheat, or the whole wheat with barley. These will be well to alter from time to time. These are better than the oaten, for they have too much gluten.
21. Noons - dried milk, green vegetables raw - as in a salad, beef juice (this should not be confused with broth, but BEEF JUICE) in not large quantities but it should be a portion of the meal two or three times each week.
22. Evenings - general vegetables, well-balanced, but tending towards more the alkalin-reaction than too much starches - though there must be sufficient; not too much sugars, but there must be sufficient. Let these be rather the well-balanced leafy vegetables, as well as the legume vegetables; as peas, beans, lentils or the like. When meats are taken at all, we would have only fowl, fish or lamb - these would be the more preferable; but no fried foods.
23. Also we would use the Ventriculin with iron. This we would take two or three times each week; not too much, about half the normal dose in the beginning - else it will not agree with this body. This would be taken AS medicinal
810-1 Page 5
properties, not as food, you see.
24. Keep these up, and - as we find - we will bring a much nearer normal condition and much improvement for this body 25 Ready for questions.
26. (Q) Did the radium treatment which I had over ten years ago leave any bad effects? If so, how should it be treated? (A) As we have indicated, use the Castor Oil packs. Make for the increasing of the circulation in such measures and manners as to allow for the flow of the lymph circulation through the affected portions. This has been gradually on the improve, but still leaves the forms of scar tissue areas in the pelvic portions of the system.
27. (Q) Would any of the radium still be in my body? (A) As indicated, it's the effects - not the radium!
28. (Q) What causes a stinging sensation in the right side of my abdomen when I bend my right leg upward toward my body as in removing my stockings, or when I have eaten anything that causes gas in the intestines? (A) This, as indicated, is from conditions where tissue has been involved in the caecum area, so that it PULLS - as it were, where there are the forms of lesions from same. The absorptions, the increased circulation or the absorptions from the external applications will relieve these conditions.
29. (Q) Why do not I regain my normal weight? (A) Poor assimilation, through those conditions that have been indicated. Do these things, and we will find we will bring the better conditions.
30. (Q) How should the camphor be used? (A) As indicated. This is with the gentle rubbing of same, after the combinations of the witchhazel and the others have been used together, you see.
31. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file (See directions [which were enclosed] for preparing Castor Oil Packs, also Pure Beef Juice. The Ventriculin may be obtained from the drug store; be sure and specify WITH IRON; it is made by Parke, Davis & Co. If everything else is not clear, let us know. GD. Also list [which was enclosed] of Alkalin-Reacting Foods may be of help to you, as it seems your principal diet should
