Time of Reading 11:15 to 11:25 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. Washington, D.C. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body here; this we have had before, [811].
2. As we find, conditions have changed somewhat since last we had same here. At times the body has been very much improved. At others it has felt at times very much more disturbed, more of the activities that cause nervousness and anxiety; not only as to the physical conditions but about all of the things that would surround the body - one aggravation bringing on another until we have the nerve reaction and an indigestion that upsets the whole of the system and the body.
3. We find, there has not been as yet the removal of those pressures that have been indicated in the body along the upper dorsal and through portions of the cervical system.
4. With the genuine OSTEOPATHIC manipulations with adjustments in those areas of the 1st, 2nd, 3rd and 4th dorsal, through the 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, 6th and 7th cervical, we would find a great deal of aid in relieving this tendency for the body to clear the throat, for this overflow of the lymph that produces the fullness as well as the cough - which is more and more sympathetic with the general conditions, and produces more and more irritation; these would be eradicated or allayed.
5. Use an expectorant to ally the irritation internally, and in combining same combine in the order and manner as given, see?
6. To 2 1/2 ounces Distilled Water add 1 1/2 ounces Strained Pure Honey. Let this come to a boil. Do not boil, but just come to a boil, so that all refuse may be skimmed off. Set this aside until nearly cool. Then to this as the carrier, add - in the order named: Pure, Full Strength Grain Alcohol.........1/2 ounce,
811-5 Page 2
Syrup of Rhubarb..........................1/2 ounce, Syrup of Horehound........................1/2 ounce, Essence of Wild Ginseng.....................1 ounce, Chloroform.................................20 minims. This would be taken whenever there is the irritation, or at least thirty minutes or an hour apart; teaspoonful. Shake it together and take the dose. This we would find will aid digestive forces, will act with the kidney eliminations, make for better assimilations of all those activities.
7. The manipulations osteopathically would be given for about two weeks or three weeks, every other day; then rest a period of a week, then repeat again. And as we find these should adjust and make for corrections that will be most helpful to the body throughout.
8. When these adjustments are made, osteopathically, adjust the 4th lumbar also, and follow along the sciatic nerves to those under the knee and then treat the bursa of the feet, rubbing them (the feet) with this compound: Equal portions of Olive Oil, Tincture of Myrrh and Compound Tincture of Benzoin. Heat the Oil to add the Myrrh; not boiling, but so that these will combine. Then add the other ingredient. Shake together and massage this thoroughly, when treating the feet, into the instep, the toes and across the ball of the feet and to the ankle. These will relieve these distresses and strains.
9. In the diet keep closer to the alkalines and keep the eliminations well balanced. Though it becomes necessary at times to use enemas, have the evacuations each day.
10. Do that.
11. Ready for questions.
12. (Q) Can anything further be done specifically for throat? (A) Only those as has been indicated, as we find would be the better.
13. We are through for the present. Copy to Self - Special (two copies; one for Dr. Lulu Irene " " Ass'n file Waters, Osteopath, 1707 Columbia Rd., Washington, D.C.) (If any ingredients for expectorant may not be obtained from your druggist there, order direct from Professional Pharmacy, 415 Boush St., Norfolk, Va.)
