Time of Reading 11:00 to 11:25 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. Washington, D.C. (Body and enquiring mind, and the information which has been given him through these sources, in connection with his present material-mental affairs and problems. Questions.)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind (this we have had in part before); with that information which has been given this body regarding its mental and material development.
2. Ready for questions.
3. (Q) At what hour of the day was I born, March 9, 1883, near Pattonsburg, Mo.? (A) Early hours of the morning, between three and four o'clock.
4. (Q) Can the specific time be given? (A) Between three and four o'clock. You see, in many instances the physical birth and the soul birth are somewhat different. With this entity we find very little variation in time of the soul birth or spiritual entering and the physical birth. And the physical birth, as we find, was three thirty-one (3:31).
5. (Q) In my present employment, I have been on the staff of the Chief Examiner since January 1, 1935, when Commissioner Farrell's term expired. Should I remain on the Chief Examiner's staff, or seek an assignment to the staff of the new Commissioner, Mr. Caskey? (A) As we find, it would be more preferable in the present to remain in the present position, as the examiner. In seeking changes, while these may be desirable, let the activities of the self be such that the place in these various offices or channels rather seeks the man who has through the activity shown the abilities to be of the greatest service to the Commission in the capacity in which he has served. Not being idle or not keeping abreast to the situations and the changes that come about; but in this
816-6 Page 2
particular office, as we find, remaining in and with that same activity would for this body - with these ideas in mind (and working toward them) - be the more preferable.
6. (Q) Should I endeavor to help others by occasionally writing for publication, under the name El-Ed-In, [of my Egyptian incarnation] an article concerning the general business outlook in the United States? (A) This would be very helpful. As to whether it would be done under this nom de plume or not would depend upon the manner or the type of the article that would be prepared. In that capacity as El-Ed-In the entity, in the expressions or activities, tended to be more in those things having to do with the foreign relationships. So this changed a little might make for a better name to use in the type of article contemplated; that is, the GENERAL outlook upon business in the various quarters of the country. While such an activity is most desirable, and a choice well to be made, do not in the articles tend to make long prognostications as to business; especially in the next three to three and a half years. But tend toward the general outlook in the various sections of the country, and as to how one is dependent upon the other. And by this very dependence and by the activity, then the outlook may be considered in such a way and manner as to be not only reasoning with but most helpful to the public. Use such a publication as the Forum, the Outlook, as Muncie (?), as those characters; or even the more popularized articles in these may be most desirable to reach the greater number of individuals.
7. (Q) What name would be suggested to use for such articles? (A) Ed-El. Or El-Ed. Use the hyphen, of course.
8. (Q) Studies made by me indicate that the major trend of the general business activity in the United States will change from an upward trend to a downward trend beginning about November, 1935. Are my calculations correct? (A) In part and in part only. As we find, the general trend upward will last in the greater portion of the quarters until February or March. And then the greater change will come about in the beginning of the summer of '36. And in some phases or some directions, well it'll be overflowing - in others it'll be very bad!
9. (Q) Can any other information be given me that would be of benefit in writing such articles? (A) As we have indicated, the entity is in a position to
816-6 Page 3
help much; by the studies and by the drawing of parallels in the various sections of the country - as to how that various industries and various activities are dependent upon one another in their natural reactions that arise. These activities are well; and if used correctly may be made not advantageous one over another but rather as an ENLIGHTENMENT. And in that manner should the articles be prepared. As an ENLIGHTENMENT. Not that one may take advantage of another, see?
10. (Q) Is the present an opportune time for me to seek an increase in salary? (A) When those things or conditions have been settled (that is, in the own self and in the own activities) as to which of the positions is taken; or if keeping in line with that which has been indicated, it will very soon be the time for increase in salary.
11. (Q) Regarding my few shares of utility stocks which I desire to sell this fall: Should they be sold in September, October, or November, and at approximately what period? (A) As we find, the greater prosperity period - or the period when they may be expected to be at their best - will be between the 10th and 15th of October.
12. (Q) In my original reading reference was made to a benevolent Jupiter influence beginning about April, 1935. How long will this favorable influence continue? (A) Three and a half years.
13. (Q) Will I be under an adverse cloud when the Jupiter influence has passed, and if so for how long? (A) These are rather as inclinations, as we have given the body. And it is what the entity does about the opportunities from those inclinations for activities that makes for that which may be considered an adverse or a benevolent influence. As we find, the Jupiterian influence lasts for a period of that approximated as indicated, for the three and a half years, beginning about the middle of April the present year. Yet those activities coming with same from the Venus and Mercurian influences, being in conjunction with the Jupiterian, will not be adverse even after the three and a half years have passed.
14. (Q) Would a knowledge of astrological planetary positions be of value to me in connection with new undertakings or other matters? (A) Such a knowledge would be advisable or valuable, provided the study is made in a sufficient way and manner as to give out what the influences really ARE in the
816-6 Page 4
experiences of individuals! That is, that they are only signs or indications; and that the results depend upon what the entity or individual does ABOUT the OPPORTUNITIES presented! See? It would be well to study same.
15. (Q) Can a teacher or course of study be suggested which will impart this knowledge to me? (A) The knowledge may be had from many books, rather than from teachers. Teachers give only their OWN interpretation, as each individual makes his own aligning or adjusting of ideas as he studies same. And the correctness or suitableness of the information received depends upon the sensitiveness of the individual studying same, and the application of his own psychic faculties in making the divination of those influences that may be presented by such astrological positions or activities. See?
16. (Q) Any suggestions to me in regard to this? (A) Study out these, and get ALL the books you can find! There are millions of 'em; get them all, if you desire!
17. (Q) Regarding my health: Should I continue to take the medicine indefinitely which was given through these sources? [See 816-1 & 816-5.] (A) Use rather discretion, as would be indicated by it being given that when NECESSARY the properties should be taken. When the body has adjusted itself, so that the alterations and changes in the system are such that this is unnecessary, don't take it!
18. (Q) Why do I have a let-down feeling when I quit taking it? (A) The exercises and activities and changes about have not so ADJUSTED the body as to be dependent entirely upon itself.
19. (Q) Regarding my stepson, [830], and the information given for him through these sources on Feb. 17, 1935 [in 830-1] in his Life Reading: It was advised that he study engineering at V.P.I. In view of the present epidemic of infantile paralysis in Virginia, is it advisable for him to attend V.P.I. this fall? (A) It is advisable for him to attend V.P.I. this fall! These conditions, or epidemics, as indicated, have been exaggerated in some quarters. The precautions [8/31/35 GD wrote him about Atomidine as given in 363-1.] in and about such an institution are such that we do not find it would be to a disadvantage, or that the body would become susceptible to same if the normal precautions are taken. In such an institution there is required a portion of, or partially the military training. This is well also. The individual NEEDS such as a portion of its OWN work-out, as it were.

20. (Q) Can it be given at this time at just what hour [830] was born, on July 29, 1916, at Bloomington, Ill? (A) Eleven fifty-one (11:51) A.M.
21. (Q) Are there any other suggestions that would be of help to me, [816], at this time? (A) As indicated, much has been suggested. Many of the lines of thought and studies as indicated would be well. Follow those suggestions that have been outlined, and - as we find - it will be for the better conditions.
