1. HLC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions, as I ask them:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [816]; this we have had before.
3. Many are the changes in the physical forces of the body; some quite the normal change, others - by some lack of a balance in the chemical reaction - have brought about a tendency for the lack of complete glandular reaction; while others cause some exhaustion, or a slowing in the circulation.
4. These as we find are conditions peculiar to the body at the present time, owing to the combination of conditions.
5. Due to the unbalanced chemical reaction, we find that portions of the system suffer at times under the attempt to create a balance in the various positions or activities; as: The lack of calcium in the system has its effect especially to the supplying of elements in the lymph circulation, as well as for the better or more normal activity in the expressions of structural portions in creating the cellular force for the blood supply.
6. Hence that fullness that is felt at times, in this balancing, through the chest - and especially about the chest bone, or that just above the cardiac portion of stomach, though a bit to the right, AND the area between the heart and the liver circulation, or the pleura as combined with nerve reaction of the heart circulation. This as yet is not any organic heart disturbance, nor any abnormal condition in the lung area itself, but as a nerve equilibrium that is not balanced in same.
7. There is this same character of disturbance indicated in that portions of the body will find the unusual sensation, a peculiar itching about the eyelids and the areas close to the circulation in the thigh and about the secrets and the
816-12 Page 2
like.
8. These become as manifestations, then, of this lack of disturbance - or rather the lack of the disturbance being wholly localized in one area, but rather a general unbalance.
9. As we find, with the keeping occasionally of those properties we have indicated for the better digestion, - that is, the clary water - we would also add these:
10. About three times each week we would take a small quantity of CALCIOS; about that as would be thinly spread upon a whole wheat wafer.
11. Then we would have the normal exercise, and plenty of rather SPECIFIC exercises - these as we find would be beneficial.
12. Occasionally cleanse the colon with the colonic irrigations, hydrotherapically administered, or by a good hydrotherapist (physiotherapist). These given for about three to four periods, about once in six weeks, should be sufficient to create a normal balance.
13. The clary water and the CALCIOS we would take in series. Keep for a two to three week period, leave off, and then after six weeks or such, commence all over again.
14. Ready for questions.
15. (Q) What causes such throat obstructions? (A) As indicated, the disturbances arise from the unbalanced condition between the nervous systems in the body period of relaxing, see? Hence it is a reflex condition, or the change that naturally arises from a changed exercise, by either the high physical or mental usage of the nerve forces. Then when attempting to relax, because of the lack of this equal balance in the system, there is produced that inclination to clear throat, or for FULLNESS, THROUGH the center about which that activity arises. Hence the form of exercise needed, as well as the changes in the chemical forces of the body.
16. (Q) The Rosicrucians recommend as a health measure that individuals take each day a few deep breaths and hold the breath 45 to 60 seconds. Is such breathing helpful or injurious to me? (A) To this body, as we find, this would be rather strenuous. If the body were one that took more violent exercise, physically, it might not be bad. But the greater exercise of the body here is of the MENTAL self. Consequently, THIS character of exercise, as we find, would
816-12 Page 3
prove the more beneficial: Each morning - for at least fifteen movements - take this exercise before an open window, or where there is plenty of fresh air; this before the shoes or clothing are put on, of course. Breathe in deeply. As the body breathes in, gradually rise on toes, and also raising the hands slowly until they come directly level with the body - that is, with the arm position, you see. Then, as slowly, gradually exhale, and gradually relax the body, by going down ON the flat position of the feet and the hands by the side. Each evening, before retiring, take THIS exercise - with plenty of fresh air. Breathe in deeply, with the body sitting erect on the floor. Gradually arise, pulling feet - first one, then the other - gradually UNDER the body, see? This would be as to bring the body then to a standing position, with the body bent toward the floor. Then gradually raise the body, exhaling as it rises from the position of the head toward the floor, see? Do this for five or six times in the beginning, and gradually work to at least fifteen times. About once a week take THIS exercise of evening, instead of the rising from the floor: Brace the feet against the wall, with the body upon the hands. Do not allow the torso to touch the floor, and circle the body for some two or three movements, to the right and then to the left. This is most strenuous, but will keep the abdomen muscles (as they are developed) in a most excellent position, and relax that portion of the nervous system that is so exercised by high MENTAL exercise, see? These would be better than the attempting to hold the breath, merely. While the holding of breath is good, it is indicated more for those who take violent PHYSICAL exercise then for those who do violent mental exercise, as with this body.
17. (Q) Are the lungs in good shape? (A) Lungs are in very good shape. The lack of the supply of calcium causes the ribs - from which much of the red
816-12 Page 4
blood cells emerge, of course - to produce a fullness in the pleura and the lungs.
18. (Q) Is anything wrong with the functioning of the nervous system? (A) As indicated, the break between sympathetic and cerebrospinal, or the attempt to equalize itself under the various conditions of relaxation.
19. (Q) Is the body getting the right sort of food elements and food combinations? (A) These are very well. As indicated, there is the need only to supply that element which is lacking. Of course, as the body is gradually built up, we will find it possible to get much of this from such things as turnips, turnip greens, onions, and all forms of vegetables of such natures; radishes, carrots and all of these - cooked and raw. Don't overdo it, but take those things as would be the normal diet.
20. (Q) The prescription given in 1935 [816-1] still is used occasionally, but some difficulty is experienced in getting alcohol to dissolve ambergris. Can anything be added to help the dissolving process? (A) It is very good to take this occasionally, as indicated. However, it is best to obtain ambergris already dissolved in the one ounce of alcohol that is to be used, see? If the arrangements are made to obtain same from Eimer & Amend, it will be obtained in that form and not hardened.
21. (Q) Any other suggestions? (A) These we would do for the present.
22. We are through with this Reading. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file (CALCIOS is manufactured and distributed by A. A. Nichoson, Colloidal Health Products Corp., Greenvale, Long Island, N.Y. It is a syrupy paste selling for $2.50 a jar, and - according to the Readings - is the best way of assimilating free calcium - except through foods, of course. The druggist referred to is Eimer & Amend, 18th St. & Third Ave., N.Y.C.) C.)
