Time of Reading 11:20 to 11:45 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. Washington, D.C. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [828], present in this room.
2. Now, as we find, there are many disturbing conditions in the physical forces of this body. Some of these are rather subtle in their nature, as they affect the coordination between the nervous systems of the body. Others we find are of a contributory nature to the disturbance in the nervous forces, yet are more specific and have their reaction upon specific functioning of organs - as in the organs of the sensory system, as well as other disturbances that are the after effects. And these, with the depletion from both of these systems, work upon the emotional forces of the body through the physical rather than the nervous system; though, naturally, affecting the nerve's reactions in the effect.
3. Then, these are the conditions as we find them with this body, [828] we are speaking of, present in this room:
4. We find the BLOOD SUPPLY is disturbed at times through pressures that exist not only in the central nervous system but as related to the manner in which the blood supply is replenished or rebuilded in the system UNDER these distresses; not only of exposure, gases, but of anxiety in the system. Then, these have a psychopathic as well as a pathological effect upon the organs of the system through which the blood supply is not only changed but purified, as we have reflex conditions in the lungs, and the activity of the blood flow from there to the heart and through the liver and hepatic circulation makes for periods when there is the suppression or repression in the system, through the activities of the central nervous force. For there is caused an improper pulsation, improper breathing in the lung, and - naturally - in the system attempting to adjust itself - the result is that the liver and kidneys become involved sympathetically and at other times organically in
828-1 Page 2
their attempt to meet the needs of the conditions.
5. In the NERVOUS SYSTEM, as indicated, we have in portions of the assimilating system the adhesions that arise not only from scar tissue but from improper nutriment to portions of the system that produce in the central portion of the nervous force - or the solar plexus reaction - periods of the same reaction to the sympathetic system, that is cut off from its coordination with the cerebrospinal. Hence we will have periods when the respiratory system, the heart's action, the sympathetic forces of the body become wholly dependent upon the nervous forces of the cerebrospinal system for the responses to voluntary and involuntary reaction through the body. Then, lapses become between the sympathetic and cerebrospinal; only partial, then, consciousness of the physical reactions that react in the system. This natural pressure that exists in the soft tissue of the face, the antrum, the deeper tissue of the nasal passages, CAUSES the catarrhal reaction in PARTICULARLY the Eustachian tubes. Hence we have in the sympathetic system, in its activity with the sensory forces or the auditory forces, hindrances. These, and with their combinations of effect upon the organs of the body as indicated, make for the disturbances with this body.
6. Then, in assisting this body in making for those changes that would create a normal balance, we would make for that which would be effective in creating proper coordination in the cerebrospinal and sympathetic centers, SPECIFICALLY in the 8th and 9th dorsal vertebrae axis and in those reactions in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd cervical where, through those activities to the brain forces themselves, the suppression comes; in making for the corrections in the flow of the blood to the head in a coordinant manner, relieving the tissues in the face, antrum, soft tissue, and increasing the lymph circulation, getting more of a coordination with the superficial with the deeper circulation of the body.
7. As WE would find, the higher vibrations from the electrical forces from the deep therapy of diathermy to the body would be helpful; provided there are also those continued tendencies for the lower form of electrical vibrations that may be had in using the Wet Cell Battery Appliance - for this, which is of a different nature of electrical forces, with same would make for more effective activity of the deeper therapy upon the tissue and the active forces that are enlivened by electrical forces, and aid also in equalizing the circulation, blood supply in its circulation, nerve supply in its circulation, which makes naturally for a more normal lymph and emunctory activity for
828-1 Page 3
the body.
8. The diathermy, we would find, should be applied about twice each week; while the lower form of electrical forces - that are not electronic but galvanic in their activity - would be used for twenty to thirty minutes each day, preferably used in the extremities of the body - to the wrist and to the ankle, to the opposite sides of the body when used.
9. Also we would find the massage most helpful, through the addition of oils that make for the activity to the burses, to the glands that are close to the surface, through the absorption of same. Apply these not only along the cerebrospinal system specifically, but along the emunctory centers - as in the lower portions of the nerve ends as they branch for the lower limbs, and those for the upper limbs. Or the lumbar plexus and downward, the brachial plexus and upward. These would be combined in this manner:
10. To 6 ounces of Russian White Oil as the base, we would add - in the order as given: Oil of Cedar Wood.................1 ounce, Oil of Wintergreen..............1/2 ounce, Kerosene Oil....................1/2 ounce, Oil of Mustard...................10 minims, Oil of Sassafras................1/4 ounce.
11. These will tend to separate when standing. When used as the massage, shake well together, only using what the body absorbs. This we would do three or four times each week, PREFERABLY just before retiring.
12. AFTER there has been the use of the deep therapy and the galvanic reaction from the Wet Cell - with the massage, and the diet kept in an alkalin-reacting form (with the basis being both blood and nerve building influences from grain, fruit and green vegetables, specifically) - and these have begun to react, we would then have a CLEANSING, first, of the eustachian tubes through the FINGER SURGERY.
13. Then we would have a massage, and a purifying through the antiseptics in the soft tissue of the nasal cavity, in the throat and in the lungs themselves. This, as we find, would be the better antiseptic for same:
14. To 4 ounces of pure grain alcohol, add: Oil of Eucalyptus................20 minims, Rectified Oil of Turp.............3 minims, Tincture of Benzoin..............15 minims, Rectified Creosote................5 minims, Tolu in solution.................30 minims.

15. Keep this in a glass corked container, and at least twice the size of the solution - or a six to eight ounce container. Keep where the natural heat will produce some evaporation, that will rise in the space above. When used, shake together and inhale into the nostril (either side) and deep into the lungs, as an antiseptic only.
16. Do these.
17. Ready for questions.
18. (Q) Is there a possibility of an aggravated condition in the right mastoid region which may be the cause of the loss of hearing? (A) This, as indicated, is rather the tissue not only in the mastoid but in antrum and in nasal passages. These are the sources of infection, that make for the stoppages in the Eustachian tubes; thus unbalancing the flow of circulation to the ear.
19. (Q) Should the inhalant be used from the beginning of the treatment? (A) As indicated, the inhalant would be used only after there had been begun the finger surgery and the stimulated circulation in the rubs and the battery and the electrical appliance has shown the effect so that the antiseptic to the soft tissue may remove same, see?
20. (Q) What type of work is suggested that I follow for a life vocation? (A) That of writing, or the reactions of the reports upon MUSICAL activities of individuals.
21. (Q) Where may it best be developed for the most satisfactory returns? (A) FIRST we would develop the better physical conditions of the body, you see. Then begin wherever the activities are the more acceptable. Writing reviews, or in the activity of the critic will be the better activities.
22. (Q) Will my present financial status clear up so that it will be possible for me to carry out my desires in assisting a certain party through his college course? (A) These conditions we do not find so associated or affiliated with the physical forces of the body as to be given, but - as we find - if the physical body and the mental reactions will be cleared - there are the abilities to so use the physical and the material surroundings as to make for the meeting of many of the desires. First we would make for those corrections indicated. As the strength and the vivacity is restored, we will find the abilities branching out in activities that will make for the life forces being much more worthwhile.
23. (Q) When will it be possible to hold a permanent job again?
828-1 Page 5
(A) With the applications of these treatments suggested, we would find in six to nine months almost normal again.
24. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file (GD's note at the time of the reading: See the following [which was enclosed]: Letter to Electrotherapist regarding diathermy treatments " " The Reilly Service with the specifications for type of battery appliance required. " " Osteopath regarding finger surgery when needed. " " Druggist for inhalant when needed. The ingredients for the oil rub may be bought separately and added together in the proportion and order indicated. The list [which was enclosed] of Alkalin-Reacting Foods may be of help to you, as it seems your principal diet should consist of these - in addition to blood building foods such as liver, tripe, beef juice, etc. See directions [which was enclosed] for making pure beef juice. Whole wheat, barley, etc. Such as Maltex.)
