1. EC: Yes - we have the body here; a great many changes since we had this here before.

2. As we find, the acute conditions in the present arise from the attempts of the system to eliminate accumulations from sediment in the bladder.

3. The measures being used are in line with that which is best in the present.

4. Though they are using the narcotics, we find that ease may be had, or assistance towards relief, by using Turpentine Packs across the lower portion of the abdomen. Apply five to six thicknesses of heavy flannel, heated, saturated with the Spirits of Turpentine; over the bladder area, from the front, so that the passage may be assisted and this low down, of course, even to the pubic bone, so that there may be the relaxation of the urethra and the penetrating forces of the Turpentine to alleviate.

5. This is not to hinder or to be taken instead of the sedatives or hypnotics, but in conjunction with that already being done.

6. These as we find offer the better channels for relief. If these do not relieve, then the operative forces may be resorted to as a necessity. But if the Turpentine Packs are used, with the rest of these, we find it would be the most beneficial.

7. Ready for questions.

8. (Q) Does he have a stone trying to pass thru the urethra? (A) As indicated, it is sediment or stone - or stones!

9. (Q) Should he stay where he is or try to go back to Asheville, N.C.? (A) Stay where he is in the present! This is necessary! It would be impossible to remove without causing either such pain or such bleeding as to DESTROY even the prospects for keeping down the inflammation!

Do these, as we find would be the better. DO NOT attempt to move! When it is necessary for the movements, massage the body gently, especially over the lumbar and sacral areas; and use the means of the catheter - as is being done - for the opening of the urethra.
