Time of Reading 10:50 to 11:15 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Va.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions which may be submitted, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [849]; this we have had before.

3. As we find, conditions are progressing toward improvement - though it is very slow at times; and we find there are some conditions that apparently at periods become conflicting as to greater improvements, yet (that there may not be discouragements from the great pain) these in a measure are necessary.

4. Some few changes we would make, then, in the present, in the application of some of those forces for the body.

5. These in their effect, as we find now, will produce better improvements. For the present manner of application has effected in a degree (not sufficient as yet) the breaking up of the tendencies for static condition in the locomotories. (We refer to the Wet Cell Appliance, you see.)

6. Now, the activity of these vibrations, as we find, should aid in a greater flow of the properties needed, in their vibratory forces in the present, for improvement through the lower limbs - in the nerves, the muscles, the tendons of the limbs; in the lumbar axis, in the knees, and a bettered condition in the feet and limbs; also aiding in the better ability for assimilating, increasing or aiding in the appetite in a manner as to make for better assimilated forces to be active with the principles being applied for helpful forces.

7. First, then, in the charging of the Wet Cell Appliance: Keep this at maximum strength, as not to be too great in its reaction in the system. When the solution refuses to make a spark or charge, in making short circuit at the poles, recharge; using the greater amount of the zinc AND the other elements in the Acid, if necessary - or increasing the

Copper Sulphate.

8. Then, in making the application of the plates or anodes, now:

9. The one carrying the Gold would be attached to the lacteal and umbilical plexus, while the copper plate would be attached one time to the knee, the next time the ankle (of course, first right and then left, see?) both on the inside, at the upper portion of where the centers pass through the joints themselves; in the ankle at the place close to the joint of same - the smooth surface.

10. The Camphor solution should pass directly through the body, at the lacteal and umbilical plexus; with the copper plate at the 9th dorsal.

11. The Atomidine attachment would be made to the lumbar center - the 4th lumbar, see; and the copper plate to the knee - this on the outside of each knee, or UNDER the knee, so that there may be the effect to the lower portion of the leg from this vibratory force, see? The muscular force to the calf of the leg - the outside, see - not on the side but under, but the outer portion of same.

12. There has been sufficient of the cobra venom activity that this will again make for better conditions (Camphor) in the assimilation, eliminations, and aid to relieve or draw from the system the poisons that are the natural accumulation from non-activity of movements of the bodily forces.

13. Continue with the venom, of course, in the same proportions and manner, for the present, as is being indicated.

14. Increase the Wheat Oil, and make for five days of each; going up and then dropping back to the first two or three minims, see? increasing now to five to six drops.

15. Then the rubs and the massage - keep these, as these have been very well, with the same solutions; though in the next quantity we would add, or we would prepare another pint of the solution and add to same ten minims of Oil of Sassafras, and use this only about once a week. This will be more of a burning solution, or an irritant, but is necessary to stimulate the superficial circulation to come to the surface sufficient to draw in more of the other oils.

16. Do these, and as we find we may bring the better forces at this time for this body.

17. Ready for questions.

18. (Q) How much stretching should be given the leg, and of what nature? (A) Just a little more each time, or as much as practical or possible each time; working, of course, through the ankle

and gradually pointing the toe of the foot downward, see? Up and down, and this - of course - PULLING on the knee, see?

19. (Q) Should there be any mechanical means used yet, or any weight? (A) These as we find would NOT be the better in the present. For there is the attempt here, you see, to increase the mental activity, using up energies of the body. And unless this stretching is done when there is not the use of the MIND towards concentration, it would become very irritating.

20. (Q) Would it be wise or advisable for the body to make a change of climate for this winter? (A) This will depend more upon the circumstances of the body. As we find, not necessarily advisable. At times when there is pain, apply a saturated solution of Epsom Salts on knees and on hips.

21. (Q) Since a change from Crews to Hudgins [F. Curtis Hudgins, Jr., D.O.] is contemplated for the osteopathic treatment, please give specific directions for these treatments, and indicate how often they should be given. (A) As to how often would depend very much upon how thoroughly such treatments were given. There would be the use of the osteopathic adjustments in shoulders, neck and head first; then the stimulation would be through the areas of the upper dorsal for the eliminations through the alimentary canal, not by adjustment but stimulation; and then the limbs would be thoroughly manipulated, with the center about the end of the spine, more by pressures on the various centers in the limbs AND about the center at the end of the spine - just pressures, more than manipulation, will relieve tension and aid in impulse and circulation through portions where apparent atrophy exists.

22. (Q) Since it is going to be necessary for the body to stay indoors more, how much exercise should the body take, and of what nature? (A) As much as practical, and of every nature that is possible. MAKE self take it; pulling, tugging, moving the limbs - all of these. And when the dark days come, use the Mercury Light AS light for the body treatments also; the Mercury Quartz Light, OR Ultra-Violet, rather than the Carbon. This should be far away, but sufficient so that it acts upon the spine and, of course, the limbs and back portion of the limbs especially.

849-43 Page 4

The distance from the body would depend upon the strength of the light - but at least fifty-six inches (56"), either in the stand or hand lamp. And especially the body would attempt the exercises during the thirty minute period that such light would be given. Do these, and as we find we may bring the better forces at this time for this body.
