Time of Reading 12:00 Noon - Eastern Standard Time. ..., N.C.
1. GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of [853], present in this room, who seeks advice and guidance as to his mental and material affairs. You will answer the questions which he submits.
2. EC: We have the body, the enquiring mind, [853], present in this room. Also those conditions mentally, materially, that disturb the body at this time.
3. In seeking counsel and advice, there are many conditions to be considered, and - would these be made even practical from the material point of view - thee must also be considered the premise from which all such reasoning would be considered, and the mental and spiritual life must, does, always so interlock that this is the only safe premise from which to reason or judge; for though one many gain the whole world, there must in all reason be trouble, turmoil, doubt, fear, that disturbs the mental body, unless these have been founded in that which makes for a surety, in that which the body-entity HAS believed.
4. That the conditions mentally and physically in the present DO disturb the body, causing mental unrest, there must be something done in the present to meet the emergencies as they arise. To become, though, at such a time, wholly unfit - by allowing self to become panicky, or running here or there without the considerations as to whether the attempts being made are wholly in accord with that which has been and IS the basis for surety, in life everlasting, in keeping with the tenets in whom thou hast believed, to whom thou hast committed thy keeping - is to only invite that which must turn again and bring disruption and disorder.
5. In meeting, then, the emergencies - first take all of them to Him. Not as that they are His, save in the way and manner that thine life is His. Do not expect that thee will be those things unburdened by Him save as the life, the efforts of self are in keeping WITH His biddings every whit. When these are, then, in accord, the problems, the
853-2 Page 2
disorders, are His also - and TRULY "In Him do we live and move and have our being", and we are co-workers WITH Him in bringing the Kingdom into manifestations day by day. Not as spasmodic, or this day, mind, that or the other day His - I do my will today, and expect Him to do His tomorrow. Day be day keep as unto him.
6. Ready for questions.
7. (Q) Should I make a change in my life work? (A) Does the life's work lead to those conditions that make for antagonisms with Him will, as understood by self, then change in the manner that the work, the labors day by day, may be more in accord with that thou hast set as an ideal service to Him. Does that in which the body is engaged give a better opportunity for service to thy fellow man, in keeping with HIS precepts, then use that as a way and manner of exemplifying HIS will, HIS way, in this period. In the ways as present themselves, as we find, viewed from a purely material standpoint, the present work offers opportunities oft that may make for the opportunity, channel or manner, in which service to thy fellow man may be in keeping with that which is a greater service to Him. ALSO offers an opportunity, a channel, through which a broader, better service may be brought about in serving thy fellow man; but do not lay aside the one until there has been the full opportunity of giving self in service in the CHANNELS that present themselves; for in the PRESENTING of self as an agent of, a representative of, those forces, there may be presented WITH same that which is to be the manner of conduct in the particular JOB at hand.
8. (Q) In what city or town should I locate for best success, should I continue the practice of law? (A) In those that OFFER in the present the better opportunity for the following out of these endeavors. In the IMMEDIATE future, in the present surroundings. In that which is to COME, there will be a channel, a place, as we find, that will be pointed out - or things and conditions brought to bear that make FOR a channel, a place, a city, a surrounding, for the endeavors of the body.
9. (Q) What channel and what city? (A) These will come with those changes that seem eminent in the experience. Do not be over hasty, nor seek other than that as should be the attitude of each and every soul that gives to do His biddings. "Day unto day uttereth speech - " "Give me THIS day my daily bread."
10. (Q) How can I raise the sum of $6,000 immediately to pay all my debts, and finance myself while making this change?
853-2 Page 3
(A) This, as we find, is not necessary to be raised all at once. Work with that in hand in the present, and MEET those emergencies day by day. Praying oft, as the work with the hands, with the mind, with the associations that come about, and using THESE there will be the way open, the understanding will come as to HOW these conditions are to be met; for the attitude should be, "I am Thine, O Lord! SHOW me the way day be day. Open unto me that channel through which I may treat my brother, who has entrusted me in the way and manner as I would trust him. We are Thine! Let there be shown and given the way, that these may be made - the NECESSITIES of the day - compatible with that Thou would have done through my efforts, though feeble they be, in meeting those emergencies." Through such channels, through such attitudes, there will come; for His mercy, His grace, is sufficient, will these be put in HIS keeping and not attempted to be bended or twisted into the desires of self rather than HIS way.
11. (Q) Is the one hundred fifty million feet of standing timber in Bladen County, N.C., which I have been trying to sell, salable at this time? (A) As we find, through the Mengel Box, or through an associate of same, whose offices are in Louisville, Kentucky. Through these there may be made negotiations in manners that would be satisfactory.
12. (Q) At what price shall I offer it for sale? (A) This should be in keeping with good business; not good from the standpoint of GOUGING - but with good business, that - in the circumstances and conditions, and those relationships and needs and necessities of the various conditions that surround same - should be the manner as to how the price, or quantity, or how delivery, and such. [See 264-32, Par. 15-A--18-A on 4/9/33. Also 853-3 on 9/1/32.]
13. (Q) Is any of the fiction which I have written in spare moments, to-wit: "Within the Law", " State vs. Hicks", "Technicalities", or the unfinished story of "The Woman Who Came Back", salable? (A) All, as we find, with those minor corrections that may be had, may be salable to those channels through which such may go. These should be sent to their varied outlets, and sent direct - not through agencies! Those that lend themselves as strong characterizations of individuality, rather than personality - as "State vs. Hicks", will make for a presentation in the mimeograph or scenograph, that will be most acceptable. Send these through channels that ARE as agencies, or as direct to those new organizations
853-2 Page 4
that are being formed that deal with productions to be given to the larger outlets, as in those of the studios in the various portions of the country, or direct to those that have formed - that are SEEKING new material.
14. (Q) Will you give the name and address of any of these channels? (A) These may go through those of the Guild, New York, or those of Goetz, [Harry M. Goetz - William Goetz] or those of the Hollywood Scenario Company.
15. (Q) Would I be a suitable person to work for Mr. David E. Kahn, and in what capacity? (A) In the advisory legal capacity, as to contracts and agreements made in the various portions of the country. This would not necessitate changing from the own surroundings, until there had been reached the proportions where the necessity demanded that the office be close to his, but rather as the advisory one on the various contracts that would be presented.
16. (Q) To what person shall I go to obtain appointment as attorney in any governmental department at Washington? (A) This dependent upon what branch of service is desired. Should this be in that which comes in the Civil Service appointments, then these would be well to go through those various stages of preparation of self FOR the various fields of endeavor or activity. These may be best sought through the heads of this department, which may be had from any of those associations or notations in such. Should these be for those, in preference, in the diplomatic, or those services in the various fields of activities in foreign, or foreign relationships, then these should go through those who present, or represent, the State National organizations for such preparations - see? [3/12/33 Became Gov. claim adjuster.]
17. (Q) To whom can I sell electrical pole guard invention to best advantage? (A) This, as we find, could best be sold through the offices of the General Electric, or Westinghouse Electric - and the approach to these may be well made through Kahn's association with officials of same, or American Tel & Tel offices - that make for connections between all national and international organizations; for they come as safety appliances in these fields.
18. (Q) Of what significance in the life of this entity are recurring dreams of the sea, and ability to smell salt atmosphere at a distance of a hundred miles inland? (A) That, with the proper preparation (materially) there may be had the better MATERIAL service by activities on, or over, seas.
853-2 Page 5
19. (Q) Have I ever known my wife, [264], in any other incarnation, and in what association? (A) In the association in the Egyptian period, when the entity was then associated as one that guarded and later abused that association. [See 264-31, Par. 45-A on 3/18/33 indicating their associations in other periods, including the Carolinas and Persia.]
