1. GC: You will have before you the body and enquiring mind of [853], present in this room, who seeks advice, counsel and guidance, in regard to his mental affairs, material associations, and personal enlightenment as to his spiritual development in the present life. You will answer the questions which he will submit regarding all of these:
2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [853], present in this room - this we have had before; also many of these associations, physically, and mentally.
3. In many of these some changes have come about. In the mental abilities, these are well. In the material associations, much may be expected, much may be required in many directions, for the satisfaction of all concerned, and for those developments that naturally arise by and through associations mentally and materially. Ready for questions.
4. (Q) To what associate of the Mengel Box Co. can I sell pine timber lands in Bladen Co., N.C.? (A) The conditions that surround the interests that are associated in the Mengel Box Company are such that this particular character of wood will soon be a necessary factor in some of the prospects that are to be launched and carried forward by this association. The individual, or individuals, who should be the ones to approach - are the secretary of this company, and there will soon be an inspector to look over the situation. First this will be done irrespective of [853] or associates. Then there will be those approaches for negotiations for the handling of same. To the secretary, then, would the approach be made.
5. (Q) Where is the secretary? (A) Louisville office.
6. (Q) Should I approach him first, or wait until after this inspection is made - and for their approach? (A) Would approach him first.
7. (Q) Where is there any other market for this timber at present? (A) The Ford interests would also be interested. This a
853-3 Page 2
little later than that as might be expected from the Mengel company, but these we would approach through the construction division of the Ford Motor operations.
8. (Q) What is the name and address of the construction division? (A) Timber Division, Ford Motor Company, Detroit, Michigan. Going through the regular channels will open up the negotiations.
9. (Q) When and where will another market develop for this timber? (A) When there are those increasing in the erection or building materials necessary, this will open. As we find, these would be rather in the early spring of next year, or early portion of the summer, when these will show a decided increase for this particular character of timber. [See 264-32, Par. 15-A--18-A on 4/9/33. See 257-115, Par. 8-A on 8/3/33.]
10. (Q) How should I go about interesting the Va. Electric & Power Co. and the Carolina Ice Co. in David E. Kahn's refrigerators? (A) As we find, the way to approach these for the greater advantage would be to approach through the parent company or association of such companies; for as there have already been agreements with various agencies of the same nature to approach through the parent organization, this will give greater advantage to the various distributing points or centers throughout the whole division, or country that is supplied by this organization, which is - as seen - the Alabama Power Company. These, as we find, for this particular individual to approach, would be first through the attorneys that represent the organization in Birmingham. Then the correct division or departments may be approached in the proper way and manner.
11. (Q) What is the name and address of the attorney in Birmingham? (A) This may be obtained more specifically (for there are divisions, and there's more than one attorney) in or through the literature or expositions necessary for the filing of operations of the organization in the various states and countries that it operates through, for it covers all of the South.
12. (Q) To whom should I write to get the proper information? (A) S. L. Colwell, Birmingham, Alabama. Or it may be obtained also through R. B. Evins, the state active attorney - for the state of Alabama, as reference to corporation's activities of the Alabama Power company. His address, Birmingham - and in the Birmingham Trust Company building.
13. (Q) Please give names and addresses of markets for such fiction as I have written? (A) As is seen in all such undertakings, these should go through their regular course of being sent to the various
853-3 Page 3
publications that use such stories. Because they may be rejected in the one does not signify that they are not worthy of acceptation, or will not be accepted by another. Well, then, to view many publications that carry the character of story that is given, and continue to besiege same; for consider, when Defoe's Crusoe was presented it was rejected by a hundred and twenty-four publications, and then became for twenty-five years the greatest seller of ANY story [Robinson Crusoe, by Daniel Defoe.]
14. (Q) Is there any gold buried on Indian Island in Panlicao River, N.C.? (A) Not as we find, of any material amount.
15. (Q) Should my life work be changed at present? (A) As we find, better that as the expansions in the various fields of endeavors and contacts, this should rather be of a gradual change, as a natural outgrowth, rather than of any decided change in the present; for in any of the associations that may be made in the immediate future, whether that in the literary field or that in the representative in sales organizations, or the like, that training in the legal phase and phrases of same will stand, does stand, in good stead; and then should be used, rather than abused; for, as has oft been given, with some legal education or experience any farmer would be a better farmer, and pig raiser would be a better pig raiser, any writer would be a better writer, or any of those organizations that make for any activity that is to meet the conditions that exist in the present in the business and social conditions or affairs in the land; for these elements are necessary. Not that they be used as abuses in taking advantage, but to meet the requirements that are necessary in such undertakings; for to know the law - and to be the law - is as the better preparation, whether material conditions, mental associations, or spiritual affairs or development.
16. (Q) What was meant by a position to be opened in a city for me, as given in my least reading? (A) Through associations of the activities of self, or those with whom the body may contact in its activities, will open a position or place for the activities to be carried on in that direction.
17. (Q) If so, please give names and addresses. (A) This rather requires the activities to be carried forward; for these are not as those that will come without some activity on the part of self in its associations or labors.
18. (Q) How can I adjust all of may business relations on financial affairs so as to be satisfactory and just to all
853-3 Page 4
persons concerned? (A) Keep on working on the lines and the manners with the same general policy that has been maintained by the body in its associations and relations with others. Keep faith first with self, and will not be false to friend or foe. In all activities that pertain to the general conditions that have existed, be not faint hearted; for, as has been given, keeping on the Lord's side, who may defeat or who may be against you? Do not be impatient nor over anxious, for He knoweth the needs of every one, and those that are in accord with those things that are His laws, His precepts, will be carried along - as has been the promise. There has never been, as has been given, those that fear the Lord and keep His commands, even fearful - they nor their seed, or associates, among those that beg bread. Keep, then, in the ways that lead to that "As ye would that men should do to you, do ye even so to them", and the conditions physical, mental, material, will adjust themselves; but, as has been given, do not be passive - but ACTIVE - in His way.
19. (Q) What can I do to aid in the work of Edgar Cayce? (A) Aid in making those contacts, associations. Speak as the spirit gives utterance, and direct and counsel with those that would speak either well or ill of those activities, whether those of the material or the spiritual portion of its actions.
20. (Q) Have I ever been associated with Edgar Cayce in a former incarnation? If so, where and how? (A) In the one previous or before this, when the associations were about that portion of the lands now known as the Virginian. Then the associations were of a minor nature as respecting some; as respecting others, they made for a great deal of change in the affairs of many. Then as companions in some undertakings of exploration in and about the lands where the body itself now resides, and much of that know respecting those lands oft comes as having been gone over many times before. In another were the associations rather of the closer relationships, when in that now known as the Egyptian land. The entity then was among those that aided in the guiding and guarding of those about the Temple of Sacrifice, and the entities then crossed one with another at that period of the association. Then, when the changes or regenerations came, there were much closer associations. So, with the return or the rebuilding of those things as exemplified in that period with those in the present, the associations will be much closer.

21. (Q) Now can I close out the Bradley note and deed of trust? (A) Through those regular channels that are provided for some, in the regular court orders and the regular activities that go for the action of such claims, such undertakings.
22. (Q) How can I prove that the Roanoke Mills wrongfully procured the discharge of John Cannon from Patterson Mills? (A) By those records that show how this exchange came about, through the activities of Patterson in those periods when the change were made. These records are apart even yet of the court records, are they gone into thoroughly.
23. (Q) From whom can I obtain these records? (A) These are in the court records.
24. (Q) Are the Roanoke Mills, the Patterson Mills and the Rosemary Mfg. Co. actually violating Section 8,081 CC of the Consolidated Statutes of N.C.? (A) These records will show they are in violation in the present status of the situations that exist between these. These same records that show how these changes were made.
25. (Q) If so, how can I procure evidence of such violation? (A) Through these same records.
26. (Q) What kind of work should I do which would enable me to live at Virginia Beach, Va? (A) This, as we find, will come rather as a natural development of conditions and associations with the various activities the body is contacting, touching, or relating self with in the present, and should come about in the next eighteen months to two years.
27. (Q) To whom should I apply for this work? (A) Work through these same channels. Just as has been indicated in that which has been given.
28. (Q) What effect will present rise of stock market have on refrigerator business of Kahn corporation? (A) Will assist, but will be deferred in the action of the products through the change in price of the products through which the operation or product is made. That's confusing to some, somewhat; that is, with the price in the present market, those necessary elements entering into the manufacture of the product, or refrigeration - refrigerators - this will alter somewhat the ability to bring about the production in the quantity that may be required through some periods, see? but as a whole will work to the advantage, of course, for the contracts or agreements when signed and sealed will be binding, and the advance will make for advances in other directions - but it will not last just yet. It must become more of a gradual, and not so much on the spurts.
29. (Q) Will present advances continue and how long?
853-3 Page 6
