1. HLC: You will have before you the entity known in the present as [853], present in this room, with the personality known in the name of Hanswell, formerly Governor in and around Roanoke Island. You will give in detail the activities of the entity in the incarnation of Hanswell, as relates to his activities of the sea, his political activities, and describing his writings, telling where they may be found now, and correlating the activities of Hanswell to the activities of [853] and answer the questions that are asked. Also describe the cache-ing of the worldly goods and treasures.
2. EC: Yes, we have the entity now known as or called [853], and the activities of that entity in those periods when there were the sojourns in and about Roanoke Island.
3. We find that when the entity was sixteen years of age it shipped aboard the ship known as The Maria, plying then first from what is a portion of Liverpool and West African coast.
4. Then there were those periods when the cargoes were being sent to the eastern shore, and the entity had then risen to the place of second mate on that boat, barge or sailing vessel. It came among those that had been in the king's service, intending to reach what was called Jamestown but landed much farther south - and into those waters about the Roanoke Island. In that place there had been the reestablishing and the beginning of the setting up of the governments of those lands.
5. The entity chose, then, to remain among those people; becoming among those of the first expeditions for the settling or making the treaties with those in the various settlements that had been begun in portions of the land.
6. The entity kept close in touch with those of the crew, who became after that as invaders upon the Spanish mains, the Spanish islands that had begun to be established in the Cuban and Puerto Rican lands, those even of the upper
853-5 Page 2
portion of Colombo and Yucatan, those in Florida and a portion of Louisiana.
7. Then, the entity made those trips. Not as one of the buccaneers, but kept in touch with same. And much of the booty or that taken was given to Hanswell for distribution or savings, and the exchanges were made back and forth. The entity became the one to whom many came of that group, for later it included at least two other regular ships that made regular trips in the various waters in and about those lands. Among those were the activities that made for the plundering of Jamestown, or that across the river from same, where there had been established some stores. And the escape of these to the isles off the coast of Florida, the burning of same, made for the determining of Hanswell to renounce any associations with the peoples. But during the next year there was the return of its former mates to declare, to leave, and to make for the divisions that were to be a portion of the entity's then OWN portion of the activities that had been carried out. These came into what has been and is a portion there, and it was cached to the KNOWLEDGE of the entity but not touched during his experience. For he had then been entrusted to the voice of the peoples in the first bourgeoise meetings in Williamsburg; and this made for still further activities of the entity entering into more and more of the political influences of the surrounding country. These activities then drew the entity's service and influence more and more away from its general surroundings, for there was a general activity of the entity - as will be seen from the records of writings which may be found there - among the early activities in Philadelphia, and even to a portion of the Boston and Salem activity. For the entity not only made for those writings to those of the various developments that were in the few years to make for the rising for the independence, but brought much to the understandings of those in those early periods.
8. The entity in the year, or during that period of the year, in 1768 made for the departure through the meeting of foul play with those in Philadelphia. THERE the entity rests; yes, it's marked as of the name then, upon the stone in that general cemetery there.
9. Ready for questions.
10. (Q) How may I develop my dreams and visions so as to enable me to locate the hidden treasure? (A) By not wishing or not insisting, but as of preparation of self; meditations and then turning - as it were - to the within that there may be the visions of those activities
853-5 Page 3
that will aid not only those that would assist from beyond but aid self in recalling and seeing the places and positions of the cache.
11. (Q) What is now located on the ground where the treasure is buried? (A) (Mumbling) - 1746-1768 - Now - 1935 - Long ways to go back! We will find it. (Long pause) - counting over the years - "'63 - that's when another great change came. In '63 the waters began to recede, of course, from where these were. 1819 we again have a great deal of change in the surrounding influence and forces, arising from those periods when there began to be in that particular portion the developments for the certain types of labor for a particular activity in the peculiar type of tobacco that was prepared in that particular portion of the land." (Counting back) - 1817-16-14 - See, there's a tobacco crop grew over here close to it then, 1817 - yes, 1812 - Again we have this as an arbor for the Sumpters, wasn't it? men that came from - Again we have receding, but this is going backwards, see? '11-10-9-6-1800- 99-98 - O, what a change! 98-97 - what a change! There is a receding, we see from then an open channel of now, in the present, 1935-1768, see, of nearly two miles in some places, and no channel open yet, see? On this particular land we find there has been some cultivation; then again it has been left in the present, but the closest mark as we find is a large sycamore tree. Dream about that and you'll find the roots come not far from it. Use those, though, first in locating same; for it is needed not only in self and in those activities but is as the desire of many from the other side that they, too, may be loosed from those conditions that have aided them to be kept - as it were - from bringing to pass in their experience much that might have helped, might aid them in having the opportunity. So first in that of the vision through the seeking out by the interpretation of same. Then making those locations through that as indicated, of the SOUNDING of the electrical board as set; not as of a doodle-bug nor of a balance nor of a rod, but as the SOUNDINGS, see, where there are the poles set up on either side and then the sound of that which strikes between same, or sticks in the ground, you see, and sounds to the ear.
12. (Q) When I go for the treasure should I take anyone with me or go alone? (A) Only someone in whom there may be the implicit confidence, to enable self to set up and sound the
853-5 Page 4
instrument - because it's not so far from the top!
13. (Q) Where should I first deposit the treasure and how best should I convert it into usable form? (A) It'll necessitate being re-run through the governmental influences that control same at the present time. Deposit first, then, with those in governmental authorities.
14. (Q) Now, concerning other activities, how may I use the urges which come to me for greater mental, material and spiritual development? (A) As indicated, the body should write these in land and sea stories or a combination of same, in a way as to bring out historic facts as a portion of the background and also the changes that are wrought by the inter-educational factors from one portion of the land to another. For what do ye think has broken down the activities between the North and South, which have been a portion of an experience of the entity? The natural intercourse, or the influence of one generation of peoples educated in the environs of another generation, both North and South? And it may be included in same that, if there is not the intercourse or the exchange in the vast areas in this land of the educational institutions - or men from Maine educated in California, or those from Michigan and Minnesota educated in Texas, or those from Texas and Minnesota educated in those institutions of the east, or those of the central portions educated in the northwest or the southwest - the day must surely come when it would be an un-united peoples. This should be the character of presentation in story, that may carry with same the love story and the nature of same; this would be well. And the character that it would be well for the entity to take (for he will grow himself) would be Hanswell.
15. (Q) What are the opportunities which come to pass in the experience of this entity making for broader developments - (A) (Interrupting) The opportunities are given, of course, in the vision, in the recovery of that which may be thine own division in the material things; and this in giving the opportunity for the expressions in the writings should bring - within the next two and a half to three years - their natural resources of the outcome from same; making for a broader vision, greater opportunities in contacting the millions instead of the few - which the entity may do through the writings.
16. (Q) Please give the full name in that incarnation just before this, as Hanswell. (A) Hanswell - H-a-n-s-w-e-l-l - William J. This will be
853-5 Page 5
found on the stone.
