Time of Reading 3:00 to 3:20 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., California. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [855].
2. Now, as we find, there is rather the complication of conditions that disturb the better physical functioning of the body. These have involved the organs in such manners as to break down the resistances through the inability of the body, through that assimilated and with the activity of the glands and the secretions as they have been disturbed, to create the resistances necessary. Hence we have some conditions that are rather as constitutional; others we find that are as functional, yet the system is continuing to attempt to create the necessary balance for the carrying on, as it were, of the vital forces or life within the body under the existent conditions.
3. As we will find in making applications, it will be necessary that there be builded or eradicated such conditions so that in building the resistances necessary there may be the required changes and adjustments for bringing near normalcy to the body.
4. This, then, is the disorder as we find that needs the greater correction in the present:
5. The BLOOD SUPPLY indicates a very disturbed circulation, and hindrances in portions of the system where the circulation becomes very low and thus making for disturbances in the superficial activity of the extremities (that is, in the superficial circulation), disturbances in the locomotions of the body; and there is indicated also the lack of the vital forces necessary to build up resistances.
6. The NERVE FORCES of the body are very much disturbed. For there is disturbance between the sympathetic and the cerebrospinal system. These make for, then, disturbances that are both sympathetic - from conditions that arise in the system - and causing other disorders that the sympathetic nervous system takes on; thus bringing those conditions in the affected portions by same as to make for
855-1 Page 2
tendencies for not only worriment about self and the anxieties that arise from same but the tendency to take ON much that may be surrounding the body as disorders or disturbances.
7. In the physical functioning of the ORGANS we find, with this disturbance in the blood supply, we have disturbances much in many of the organs; as in throat, bronchi and larynx, that at TIMES only give distress.
8. In the digestive system do we find the greater disorders. While the heart's action is not regular, it is not an organic condition - rather a sympathetic. In the digestive forces we find there has been that which has prevented the proper assimilations, having those periods when there has been thickening of the walls of the duodenum themselves; regurgitation, those periods when there were the apparent lacerations or disturbances in the digestive system. The sedimentary conditions in the gall duct and the areas of same make for the inability for the proper functioning of the liver as coordinating with the kidneys. Hence we have rises not only of poisons in the system from those as arise from the improper elimination through the kidney activity, but the liver itself.
9. These are the conditions to be combated in the present, and when these have been applied for thirty-six to forty days then we would make suggestions for further corrective forces:
10. We would prepare a tonic as a stimulant for digestive forces, to the applications externally for producing assimilations, combined in this manner:
11. To 1 gallon of rain or distilled water, add: Wild Cherry Bark.........1 ounce, Sarsaparilla Root........1 ounce, Yellow Dock Root.......1/2 ounce, Burdock Root...........1/2 ounce, Cinchona Bark..........1/2 ounce, Buchu Leaves.............1 dram, Mandrake Root............1 grain, (Don't leave this out!) Elder Flower.............2 ounces. Boil this together, preferably in an enamel container with a glass or enamel top. Reduce until there is only 1 quart left. Then strain while warm and add 3 ounces of grain alcohol with 2 drams Balsam of Tolu cut in it. Shake the solution together before the dosage is taken, which would be 1/2 teaspoonful 4 times each day.
12. In the diet, let the foods taken be rather
855-1 Page 3
body-building. This would be as an outline:
13. Mornings - cereals or citrus fruits, but do not take these at the same meal. At least two or three times each week we would have the whole wheat cereal, not too thoroughly cooked but cooked sufficient that the vitamins are preserved in same. It may be taken with a little milk, but not too much sugar.
14. In the middle of the morning we would take beef juices; not beef, but the beef JUICE - that may be prepared every three or four days. The quantity would be about a tablespoonful, but taken in very small quantities; that is, little sips at a time a tablespoonful each day should give strength and vitality to the body.
15. Noons - rather the juices of vegetables that are cooked in their OWN juices, or in Patapar paper. These may be combined with a little of the vegetables; or we may alter these to the use of raw green vegetables combined as a salad, including such as cabbage, lettuce, celery, tomatoes, carrots, spinach, peppers, radish, mustard. Any or all of these; not too great a quantity but sufficient to satisfy the appetites.
16. In the middle of the afternoon we would have rather the dry milk, or buttermilk or the like; not in large quantities.
17. Evenings - well-cooked vegetables themselves. Very little meat should be taken; only fowl, lamb or the like.
18. We would have each day also a massage or rub along the whole of the cerebrospinal system, with ingredients combined in this manner:
19. To 6 ounces of Olive Oil as the carrier, add in these proportions: Oil of Cedar Wood........1 ounce, Oil of Pine Needles....1/2 ounce, Oil of Wintergreen.....1/2 ounce, Oil of Sassafras.........1 dram, Kerosene Oil.............2 ounces. These will tend to separate, but shake together and only massage the locomotory centers and the spine - or the locomotory centers specifically, as between the shoulders, the 1st and 2nd dorsal, the 4th lumbar and across the hip and the sacral area, what the body will absorb. Do this preferably just before retiring.
20. Do these, then, in this way and manner, and - as we find - in thirty-six to forty days we would give further instructions.
21. We will find there will be localization of some
855-1 Page 4
conditions, yet we will find strengthening from those disorders where the inability of the activity and the strength of the body will be aided.
22. Do this. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file (3/12/35 GD's note: See directions [which were enclosed] for preparing pure beef juice; also the letter to Druggist for tonic. Advise when treatment has been followed for 36 to 40 days, so we may make appointment for Check Reading to give further instructions.)
