Time of Reading ... Street, 4:35 to 5:40 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City. (Body and enquiring mind, who seeks information, advice and guidance as to his financial and material affairs. Questions.)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [877], present in this room; this we have had before.
2. In giving that as we find that may be helpful in the present experience and conditions, there are phases of the associations and activities which are of interest to the entity that have basic principles. Yet, as we are aware in such dealings and relations, these are not always strictly adhered to. However, these basic principles give the ideal manner upon which judgments by the body may be passed; from activity and knowledge of group associations in the varied connections as relative to that arising from those industrials or those activities of organizations that depend upon the consuming of the products. These have then basic rules and regulations as to the cost of production, as to distribution, as to overhead and the like. And that which is over and above may be multiplied by ten.
3. To give a ratio, or relative relations as to the evaluation of such stocks or bonds - for these are of the same nature, unless they are enjoined with associations in a political or racial or international dealing with factors:
4. While the rule does not alter, the activities of individual groups that are able to control such influences have their relative relationships to the activities of such an association.
5. There is quite a variation as to holdings corporations, where there are groups of individuals who may make for an interlocking influence as to be helpful or to affect the cost of production in the various fields of activity that make for the changes that arise in the considering of the evaluations.
6. Hence we have that ratio that depends upon the value of the interests upon specie, currency, or the evaluation of
877-14 Page 2
capital as related to production and the returns upon same.
7. So, when an individual considers the activity of organizations or corporations in relationships to these, he must consider all of these factors.
8. Thus by watching, knowing, becoming aware of activities of various groups or holdings companies that will or do bring about pressures in this or that manner for control, one gains then the greater concept of just how each and every organization or corporation may be considered as an investment for those who are looking to same for returns upon capital invested.
9. To be sure, there are many factors that enter in under varied circumstances and conditions; and this to be considered at this time:
10. There are commodities of commercial or such natures that are affected by the production of same in other portions of the world, and the use of same as related to the national and international relationships. These to be sure are basically upon the same principles that have been indicated, but become affected by radical reports of any nature that affect that which is being considered as the basis for the investor.
11. Hence all of these are taken into consideration. Thus in giving what may be helpful, the general conditions - both local and national or international - must be taken into consideration at this time.
12. For with rumors here, rumors there, and conditions arising in various portions of the activities and influences that affect various holdings companies, corporations or even financial institutions that hold such a portion of collaterals or assurance for their activities in other fields, all become a part of the general whole.
13. Hence those things that are affected in the national issues and usages at this time become rather what may be expected to be those that will show a general advance, unless there arises within their issues an influence from international interferences or activities.
14. For the general trend, especially led by those organizations that represent what is called the backbone of industry and buildings, and those things that are affected in the by same, is that all such organizations or corporations then may expect an unprecedented rise in those REAL values.
15. While, as is understood by the entity, various groups and various organizations may - in their ways and manners - give fictitious values to such, the very check that has been put upon the distributings of holdings will - for the next
877-14 Page 3
two to three years - hold these in a check, or in a manner in which there may be the greater assurance to those that are investors for a correct or honest return upon such investments.
16. As to the body-mind of [877], we find that there have been those suggestions given which rather than coming in abeyance to general circumstances should be and are in those positions where there should be greater consideration given by the body as to its association and affiliation with GOVERNMENT activities in INTERNATIONAL affairs.
17. This presents then a different situation, to be sure. For while the basic principles as indicated are necessarily one and the same, the approach of the body-mind is to not merely the protection of the local investor but to honest consideration by the international relationships that arise with same, and the proper consideration given to both nations and governments that may be concerned in such relationships.
18. These we merely give as the basic conditions as may be considered from those things or conditions that augment themselves in the mind and the associations of this body-mind in the present.
19. Ready for questions.
20. (Q) Present condition of my affairs and suggestions regarding improvement in same; my ultimate goal being financial freedom, clear up all debts with an independent income from sound investments, thereby making it possible for me to devote all of my time to helping my fellow men to help themselves in their constructive desires. (A) This, as has been indicated, becomes then a basic principle; in so far as it becomes, to be sure, and an answering to the principles and the intuitive forces of the body itself in relationships to not only general conditions but to those that will and are to affect the body itself. But those periods of service as yet, AS to international relationships, that have been so oft indicated in the experience of the body, that have been so oft indicated in the experience of the body, must first be fulfilled. For as has been said of old to those in various periods of their activity, the days of those that are to be of service to the many - as well as to the individual - have not yet been complete. For as we find there must be a period when the entity must serve not only the individual groups but its OWN country, in relationships to others.
21. (Q) Any general or specific advice as to the work I should do to satisfy my desire to be of constructive service
877-14 Page 4
in my present material incarnation? (A) There may be in most all of the specific as well as the general associations a rule drawn from what has just been given. For whether this applies to an individual application in relationships to investment for an agent as an agent for others or for self, these become basic rules - as the entity realizes and sees and knows. As to their practical application then, these become part and parcel of the entity's activity; yet knowing and not refraining from, always keeping self in that position, "Here am I, Lord (the Law). Use me as Thou seest that I may best serve as a channel of blessings to others, now." Then in whatever sphere of activity the entity, the body may be led, these become then - as has been indicated - VITAL PRINCIPLES upon which considerations may be given to ALL that are concerned in the individual activity at that time.
22. (Q) Where should I work and live? Is ... E. 63rd St., N.Y., best home center and central office for my work? (A) This as we find is excellent. For as has so oft been given, from the material as well as the mental angles, all roads lead to that which is the representative now of the financial center of the world. As the entity's dealings are with such activities, then as to the individual location - of this satisfies and answers to that something within which to every individual must receive an answer as to place, then THERE - as has been given in many another angle - work it out if it takes all winter or all summer or a season of activity.
23. (Q) Suggestions as to study and reading I should do to improve my understanding of Truth and the application in my life. (A) The study of SELF from the mental and spiritual angle is EVER the greater study of an individual in knowing Truth. For until there is the answer within each individual soul for that as may be a proposition of whatever nature, to that in accord or in principle with the IDEALS of an individual, there can be NO PERMANENT, lasting success; whether of a material or mental or spiritual nature. For as the face in the water answereth to face, so does the mind of man in its study of Truth find in SELF the answer to the problems in its experience. For if the individual soul is not honest and truthful with self, can it expect to be honest and truthful and faithful to others?
877-14 Page 5
Hence first the ideal. Then in the study of those things that have been a part of the entity's experience in this sojourn, in relationships to a changing world, that is seeking Truth. And this the world is seeking, even with all the turmoils, all the petty policies that are instituted by those who call themselves in authority. Know first in self, no man, no individual is in power that has not been allowed to be so by the DIVINE that ye worship! Hence in the study of the principles of those in authority in varied lands, in varied lands, in varied associations, know that ye study same in comparison with that which is not merely idealistic but that is ideal. For that BASICALLY must be that God IS! and that all power, all force, all knowledge and all WISDOM of such that rule the sons of men must emanate for a purpose in carrying out that as He hath given; that all men SHALL KNOW and shall bow the knee to HIM that is Lord of ALL! For without Him there was not anything made that was made. And the WORD (the Law) became flesh and dwelt among men. And though nations shall perish, though the earth may be changed, His words, His promise shall never fail those who keep faith with the Son!
24. (Q) Any other specific or general advice which will be helpful to me in my life, my affairs, my business, my studies, my relationships with others and my relationship to God - the "I AM." (A) These cannot be better said than in what has just been given. Ye are His. And if He is thine in thy principles, though the activities of individuals in relationships to material affairs must be taken in a practical worldly application, know what He meant when He said that the children of this world are wiser in their OWN GENERATION than the children of life. But the children of light, who have KNOWN and have heard what is prepared for the faithful from the foundations of the world, are in that position where ONE shall put a THOUSAND and ten shall put TEN thousand to flight; whether it be in the material, the mental or what not of the earth.
25. (Q) Sands Point house: What can I do to sell this property and thereby relieve myself of the cost of carrying same and realize some of the cash I put into it? (A) Here we find a problem that has become rather overburdening at times to the body in many ways and manners, causing the body at times to - in the parlance of the activities in some directions - "scotch" here and there to protect self and interests. But as the body has learned and
877-14 Page 6
is gaining the grater insight into, those things have been set in motion that will bring about - through associations and connections in the activities - that which will enable the body to dispose of these holdings, or this home, at a sufficient amount - nigh unto, yes more than the two hundred thousand, or netting the two hundred thousand that is necessary (from some angles) - for the satisfying, or satisfaction of the judgements of the body in connection and relationship with same. As we find, those associations and connections that have been indicated - well, if not the individual - though it may be the individual connection with same - of the Woolworth interests - will be a channel, a way. Why not through those connections that are seriously considering a return to this land, in the present?
26. (Q) What can I do to sell this property? (A) As just indicated. While overanxiousness may at times hinder, keep in those attitudes with those associations and connections as indicated; and as we find these will work themselves out in sufficient season for protection of all interests and for the best of all concerned.
27. (Q) What is present situation regarding sale of this property, and what are the prospects of selling? (A) As has been indicated, these as we find are more than fair. Continue to make contacts but let them centralize themselves around associations or connections or influences that are about those as indicated.
28. (Q) What agencies should I use in selling this property? (A) Use all of these, as has been indicated here. Let nothing remain unturned, but keep them centralized around the idea that it will be through these interests.
29. (Q) Any specific or general advice regarding this property and the disposal of same at the earliest possible moment and for the best possible price? (A) As indicated, hold to those influences and those things as outlined here respecting the connections or associations with that group as indicated. These as we find offer the greater prospects. These are, as indicated, in a fair way of consummation in the very near future.
30. (Q) P.B.A. matters: Specific and general advice as to how to clean up and complete liquidation of P.B.A. Corporation and all interests therein of my own and my clients. (A) Taking in consideration those things or conditions that have been indicated as to being the manners in which the approach is to be given to all such matters, then those that present such a proposition or possibility - under the
877-14 Page 7
changing conditions - of being saved in the groups that are worthy of consideration, hold to; or dispose of in connection and association with helpful organizations that are in keeping with constructive forces. Those that necessarily need cleansing that these may be in the better shape, dispose of to the best advantages in the regular routine activities of such cleaning up or disposing of those things as would make it or bring the corporations and associations in the proper lines.
31. (Q) Same regarding P.E.M., Inc. (A) Here we have the little bit different situations, as we find. For with actions beginning in various fields that have pertained to activities of the greater organization in this, there may be a reorganization and a reaction to the interests that would be the greater advantage to all concerned. Not those that have been - as may be said - wholly of rival influences, yet those that are rather in keeping with that which may aid in such consolidations or reorganizations of others that have found themselves in the same position, see?
32. (Q) Same regarding personal relationship with Spruitle Braden and [1256], Harold T. Edwards and D. A. Mackin. (A) As we find, these may be said to be able to be POOLED (the interests) in such a way and manner that by the body personally handling same, or through those that are connected with refinancing or financing institutions, they may be brought to a much better position for each and every one concerned. But this necessitates, to be sure, the agreement of mutual faith and confidence in whatever individual or group or organization or corporation may handle the interests of all.
33. (Q) Regarding personal relationship with all who invested in PBA, PEM, MIDAS and other PBA enterprises. (A) As has been given, these must share with those activities that are brought about for the setting of the affairs of these organizations or these corporations. And these will be handled with the personal interest not of self so much as of the individuals who were and are the primary or first investors.
34. (Q) When and to whom may I sell my PEM stock for sufficient to clear my obligation to Merchant Sterling Corp.? (A) With this reorganization as we find this should, by the holidays or soon thereafter, be able to be consummated. And would come possibly near the same time when the interests of the body, or the personal activities, may be altered somewhat in the relationships of the body-entity with the national and international relations.
877-14 Page 8
35. (Q) Is there any way to get back the good will of those who invested in MIDAS and lost their money therein? (A) Only in the way and manner as has been indicated, that these are to be brought into the whole of consideration as these settlements, these changes come about. There are ever those possibilities of misjudgements of self and of being misjudged by others, yet the policies, the activities of self if they are ever kept in that way of being the channel through which help and helpful influences may come, are well. And as the entity itself has experienced in self, oft reverses have brought to individuals who have the concept of Truth the greater opportunities for peace and harmony and perfect understanding. And in approach to those who have been investors in same, this should be not merely as idealistic but living it one's self; not by precept only but by practical application. Thus will there be created in the minds and the hearts of individuals a confidence, and a greater safety and security in the entity and in the body and in the experience - if this is held fast to.
36. (Q) W. A. Harriman Securities Corp.: When may I expect to sell my stock in this corporation for sufficient to clear my obligation to Merchant Sterling Corp.? (A) This, of course, is in the process of changes going about. In the rehandling, reinvesting of much of it as may be gotten together in the very near future. And this should enable the body, the entity, in the VERY near future, to dispose of same if so desired. But if this reorganization as has been planned is carried out, we would not advise a complete severing of self from this organization.
37. (Q) Cooke & Co.: When may I expect to be able to sell my stock exchange seat for sufficient to clear my obligation to Lord Bearsted; i.e., when could I sell it for $300,000? (A) By the 18th day of February, 1937. It will then again have reached that proportion as to where such seats or such interests will be in the position of greater value than has been maintained in twenty years!
38. (Q) Should I continue to be a partner in Cooke & Co., and if so, on what terms? (A) This as we find in connection with possibilities, probabilities and activities, will require - when these changes come about for the activity of the body - the severing of its connections with this organization, personally. However, the interests and the abilities of the investments of those whom the body may represent may be handled by those in whom, through whom the body has the
877-14 Page 9
confidence.
39. (Q) Should [920] continue to be a partner, and if so on what terms? (A) These may be very well considered as those changes come about, but do not allow these to become ever - in the new organization or new association of self with the government and international relationships - held up by some as a blind. But this we would hold.
40. (Q) Could I or should I approach Edward Sands with the idea of selling my seat or my partnership interest to him? If so, what should I do? If not, whom else? (A) This has rather come as we find - while it may be very well to approach, but do not until there has been sufficient reaction in the activity of the Street and the price of such seats, offer for sale or for consummation of sale. Rather wait until circumstances, conditions come about. These, to be sure, are dependent upon many conditions, as we have indicated. Remember, all such suggestions that have been given regarding individuals' personal affairs are dependent upon those principles that have first been given as the means or the manners in which considerations are to be given.
41. (Q) Should Cooke & Co. continue its present business, and if so, what can be done to increase the net profit of the business? (A) Very well as we find to continue in the present, especially when such conditions as have been indicated are arising in not only the affairs of Cooke & Co but of all others who own or who are in the position of activity in the Street.
42. (Q) American Seal Kap: Is this company sound and what are its prospects for the future? (A) Some associations of this we find worthy of consideration. In others there are questions that arise, for there are some policies that are not altogether in keeping with the very best. Hence we would consider a little bit farther; but drawing upon those very policies for its interest in connection with the varied interests that have been indicated, see?
43. (Q) What relationship should I have, if any, with this company? (A) As has been indicated, hold off until there are further considerations and until there is seen if there is not the establishing of an association of self with government.
44. (Q) What advice regarding its stock? (A) Again we would say delve into the various phases and
877-14 Page 10
activities of same, in connection with the others and other associations and connections. Let this be the principle for consideration as given, see?
45. (Q) Should my clients hold this stock? If so, when and for what price should they sell? (A) Hold until there are those changes or those considerations. For there has been, as given, a portion of these groups worthy of consideration. There are some that as we find would be questioned. But the considerations of these would be the drawing on the knowledge of the groups and the various pools as have been formed in various conditions and 0 circumstances to control this stock. And then when these are given the proper consideration and there is seen as to what is to be the outlook of the activity, advise or counsel as to whether to hold or to sell.
46. (Q) When and for what price should they sell? (A) This, of course, would depend upon the circumstance as to which of the groups in this organization is to control.
47. (Q) Will there be a good market for this stock on the Curb exchange? (A) Yes, if the reports that are being prepared - You see, some come from one group, some from another as concerning this - and yet each of these groups is trying to control. Delve a little deeper into their connections and then it may be seen that this will be EXCELLENT for a period. But unless, not the more conservative but the greater expansion group controls, then it becomes rather a drag.
48. (Q) At what price will it open on the Curb and when will it advance and to what price? (A) Again these, as we have given, are problems in the minds of men, and are controlled by those very influences as we have indicated are the basis for consideration. As we find, above par - yes. But these will fluctuate. But this merely becomes speculation. For whichever group controls will control this fluctuation, as well as to how high or to how low it may be sold.
49. (Q) Will thee be a buyer for the controlling stock in this company? (A) As has just been given, there are two groups. There are the ones that are the conservative or ultra-conservative, and there are those that are the expansionists. If the expansionists are in control we will find this increasing, but whenever it goes above that as to the judgement of how the price is to be indicated, watch out! for you may have too much water then!
877-14 Page 11
50. (Q) Is Harold Talbot a buyer? (A) A buyer.
51. (Q) If so, what price and when and what may I do to consum- mate a deal with him? (A) Just hold on to him, for he is being sold by the groups that as we find would be the control.
52. (Q) Is D. A. Mackin the right President? (A) D. A. Mackin is rather of the conservative group, but may be controlled or influenced by the other group who are for the expansion.
53. (Q) Is Harold Edwards the right counsel? (A) Very good! 1
54. (Q) Is the present Board of Directors right? (A) This depends upon how much control is gained by the over-conservatives, or the conservatives and the expansionists.
55. (Q) What can I and others do to improve the company's net income? (A) This is dependent upon those very factors that have been indicated, as to how this may be. Then the ability for these to be put into active service calls for that which makes for the right sort of advance.
56. (Q) When and for what price should [920] sell her stock in this company? (A) Not before these changes come about. And as we find these should be consummated before the holiday periods when there is the usual - and this year it will be found to be of a greater scope and in more fields of activity than usual. But by the 18th to 20th of December.
57. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file
