Time of Reading 10:55 to 11:20 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City. (Body and enquiring mind, who seeks information, advice and guidance as to his life and work. Ques.)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [877]; as in reference to the material, the mental and spiritual life, and the material work in the present.
2. Much of these we have had before. In some instances, some of the associations and activities we find that what has been the counsel has been acted upon; some has not been applied as well as it might. In others, we find, conditions and the immediate circumstance in material ways have made for activities that seem at present adverse to what has been given as counsel or advice.
3. Then with all of these conditions and circumstances considered, WE would give that first the body mentally make an analysis of what the purposes are in this material experience.
4. How well does the entity know self? And for what purposes are the activities? Or what is the entity attempting to gain through this material experience?
5. That it, the entity, may be looked upon as one that has been and is helpful in all its associations, all its activities with each and every individual? Or is it seeking to gain - from others - an easy way, or an excuse for this or that thought or activity?
6. These questions would be well for the entity to determine within self. For as is known and as has been experienced in the inner consciousness of the entity, there IS a way that seemeth right unto a man but the end thereof is separation from much that is material as well as much in the other direction that is spiritual.
7. The choice then of experiences is ever before an entity, before a mind, before an individual in its material activity.
8. Then, what will ye do with this man, thyself, that you find in some respects regarding the material things at the crossroads where some definite stand must be taken about
877-21 Page 2
those things that are in thy care, and in whom others have put their trust - in thy faith and in thy abilities to choose properly?
9. Know, then, as is the purpose of the entrance into the material plane, every entity is to become a channel through which the glory of the Father may be manifested among the children of men.
10. Ready for questions.
11. (Q) The Sands Point House: Is George Peabody and his firm of real estate brokers the best agent to use? (A) As we find, these are very well; yet they have not been and are not as aggressive as they should be in carrying out those things that as we find might be accomplished. However, as we have indicated for the body, if the impression is given them - not that this is to be just taken away, but that something is to be DONE, there will be more apt to be found ready activity. WE would find that it would be well to consider others also.
12. (Q) Would Ralph Bloomer be a good agent? (A) As we find, we would consider Jim Ashley [James R. Ashley] - rather than Bloomer.
13. (Q) Can Jose' A. Molero be of use in this connection? (A) We don't find Molero as associations of good intent.
14. (Q) Regarding American Seal-Kap: Is it correct to work closely with Ewart L. Petley and assist him in distributing Seal-Kap stock to investors? (A) This is well. Consider, in all of these, however, that given as to how or as to what is the purpose and as to how it is to be applied in material manifestations.
15. (Q) What part, if any, should D. A. Mackin, President of Seal-Kap, and H. D. Edwards, Counsel for Seal-Kap, take in connection with Petley's activities? (A) These should be that as in regular line with what is being done; that is, Petley's activity should not be regardless of their counsel, their sanction, their activity; though as to the extent of their injecting their personalities into the personality of Petley's activity - only that of the good will should go with same.
16. (Q) What should I do about the shares which I have agreed to purchase from National Dairy November 2nd and February 2nd? (A) These would depend upon not only the circumstances but the abilities of the entity or self to interest others in the purchase of same - and as to how valid the reason that
877-21 Page 3
self would interest others in same. This may be carried forward if the self interests self in it, see?
17. (Q) What should I do about United Kingdom Mecantile & Finance Corp.? Should I have any connection with it or its agent, Jose' A. Molero? (A) It is well, as we find, to be in the confidence of and in a position for activity by the entity, but as to injecting self and self's abilities into same, until there is some clarification of the activities of the organization, we do not see it well to be done. This does not mean that there shall not be their connections or that eventually they may not work to an advantageous position for many of those with whom the entity IS interested in same; but have the whole situations, the activities, clarified in the own mind as to their purposes, as to their activities. And it isn't well, as has been indicated from that first given, to interest self in those activities of any corporation or organization whose intent and purpose is not a hopefulness other than for material aggrandizement.
18. (Q) Should I have any connection with J. Calvin Brown and his efforts to organize the National Reform Club? (A) This is very well, though do not let self be so injected or so overenthusiastic as to become overbalanced in its purposes. The intents of the Club's activities are very good - but will those in authority be able to prevent its offices from being used for selfish motives by others, as it progresses in its scope of activity? There is, as we find - Well, this would require almost a whole period for giving the purposes or reasons - but there are the needs at the present for this activity, and if it is guided properly it might become the pinion about which and around which might be put the new organization of affairs for a NATIONAL interest. But are the ones in charge now seeking a place for self, or is it for the common good of all? That determines as to how much self would be interested. For know all of these must be projected from that as given above as the DIRECTION from which the entity should take its course.
19. (Q) What relationship, if any, should I have with Charles F. Cox?
877-21 Page 4
(A) We don't find Cox in the picture just now.
20. (Q) How could I be of maximum service to Listed Securities, Inc. and the First Mutual Corporation? (A) In advice and counsel and direction in those things as policies, as activities, that have been outlined as the manner in which the directing of self should go.
21. (Q) Should I serve as a director or officer of Listed Securities, Inc.? (A) Director.
22. (Q) Is Commander E. E. Spafford the right man for President of Listed Securities, Inc.? (A) Very well.
23. (Q) Can I rely upon Lord Bearsted to cooperate with me in developing my law business? (A) There should be wholehearted cooperation.
24. (Q) May I count on him to renew my present obligations to him and give me sufficient time to work off these obligations without being under pressure? (A) You may. Unless there are some other influences it is, to be sure, to be the manner in which it would be carried.
25. (Q) Would it be advisable to suggest his taking over my Sands Point house and my Stock Exchange Seat in payment of my obligations to him direct and to Brown Brothers Harriman & Co. under his guarantee, he assuming the obligations to the Railroad Federal Savings & Loan Association? (A) This would be very well, provided this is presented in such a way and manner that there is not the feeling that there is the taking advantage, or unloading of conditions that are not as good as they should be. This would be very well.
26. (Q) Should I take a trip abroad to obtain clients for my law firm? (A) If you go East - to the Far East!
27. (Q) When should I go and to what countries? (A) China, Siam, and - of course - England and France.
28. (Q) When would be the best time to go? (A) In the early Spring.
29. (Q) Is our law office properly organized? (A) This as we find had best be determined - this has been asked before - from the standard that should be the standard of all concerned in such, and the policies of same.
30. (Q) For what purpose did I incarnate this time? (A) As has been indicated, as each individual. Let's begin from that premise from which ALL of these may be reckoned: God hath not willed that any soul should be separated from Him, but hath with every trial, every temptation, and every
877-21 Page 5
ERROR, prepared a way of escape. That the soul of man enters, then, or incarnates, is that there is needed in the lives of those whom the entity contacts that ability of that entity to present those influences of Creative Energies as there needs be for the production of helpful, hopeful experience; or the fruits of the spirit. Hence each entity then, in its entrance, is to fulfill that which has been given, "As ye do it unto the least of thy brethren, ye do it unto thy Maker." Know these, too, present then to every entity, every soul manifesting or incarnating, the basis from which that soul must become active. That the EXPERIENCES of the soul in each appearance or activity in the earth, then, makes for either the stepping- stones or the stumbling-stones, is as is shown in the book of remembrance. Then, that ye may be a light in HIS name; that ye may become one with Him by giving to others that hope, that faith, by those activities to them that may bring a brighter and brighter outlook, and more adaptable for the companionship with, the work with, that Creative Force. For we all - and ye are as others - are gods in the making; not THE God, but gods in the making! For He would have thee be one with Him. Then when ye reason from these activities in thy daily associations ye find it becomes as was given of old, not as a formula or ritual, or that ye should cry "Who shall go over the earth and bring a message, or who shall descend from heaven or arise from hell that I may know - for Lo, He is with thee!"
