Time of Reading 3:40 to 4:05 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. Washington, D.C. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [882].
2. As we find, the conditions-physical have been rather aggravating. While there have been administrations or applications that should be helpful, the extreme relaxing produces irritation in other portions of the system that became acute. With the relaxing of the system generally, this has become somewhat eased.
3. These, as we find, may be termed a congestion in the functioning of the organs; especially kidneys and bladder, from not a neuritis condition but more from the inflammation from congestion.
4. Then, these are the conditions as we find them with this body, [882] we are speaking of:
5. The BLOOD SUPPLY indicates there is the lack of proper assimilations, and that the vitality has been and is being in a manner used up. Hence there have been the tendencies toward the body losing in its vitality. Though the mental attitude has been very good, this is a physical reaction from a catarrh or a congestion in a neuralgia condition in portions of the system. While stimulations to certain portions of the system have aided, as indicated there has not as yet been reached the real seat or cause of the conditions.
6. Also the blood supply indicates that the coagulation is not as well balanced as it should be. Hence while there has been a depletion in the red blood cells, there has also been a depletion in the lymph or the white blood or the warrior cells; so that the coagulation being bad makes for used energies with congestion, producing areas where a great deal of pain is at times experienced.
7. As has been indicated, in the lower hepatic circulation has been found the greater suffering; though other portions of the organism have become and do become involved in the condition.
882-2 Page 2
8. In the NERVE SYSTEM we find that the irritations in the body naturally make for the tendency for nervous energy to be used up; and the languidness and the lack of the ability to respond comes from those faggings - as it were - of the nerve forces themselves. While these become partly involved in the condition, the greater portion of the effect of disturbances is in the organs and the ganglia or plexus along the cerebrospinal system; thus producing those variations in the manner in which the disturbing factors react upon the body.
9. As to the ORGANS themselves, we find:
10. With the natural deficiency in the blood supply, organs of the sensory system become involved; as the eyes, the ears, the taste, all become involved - but these, as we find, are rather of the secondary nature, and with the replenishing and rebuilding to the system we find these would clear a great deal in their reaction.
11. In the activity of the throat, bronchials, lungs, larynx, heart's activity, there is shown rather an exhaustion. This is a reflex condition, and not a primary cause.
12. We find that the digestive system has been a disturbing factor for some time, with the upper hepatic circulation; that is, through the lacteal duct area and about a portion of the duodenum we find there have been engorgements and a lack of balance in the gastric flow at times, producing at other times disturbances in the gall duct or in the area of this secretion and excretory functioning of the liver as related to the assimilation of forces in the system as digestion goes on. Hence we find the body responding at times very erratically to various foods or properties taken. For the spleen and pancreas becoming involved, we find certain kinds of caseins or certain kinds of milk or certain kinds of cheese, or certain fruits even, make for a disagreeableness and a lack of proper digestion; also certain characters of peaches or grapes. These will not digest properly with the flow of the gastric forces in the system. Hence this has been or is a primary condition.
13. With the relaxing of the body, that has been exhibited through the hypogastric and pneumogastric area in the upper portion of the cerebrospinal system, it has tended to throw off in such a way and manner that the lower hepatic circulation - or the opposite poles of the body - became involved. Hence the inflammation or the pus arising in the blood stream, and those temperatures shown in the body, arise from the congestion that became localized in the kidney and bladder area. Rather the kidney, though the
882-2 Page 3
inflammation and the burning sensation when passing urine - and the irritation as produced in other portions of the body from the passage of same - would indicate the type of the acids in the digestive forces of the system. Hence the local conditions are produced that bring about great distresses for the body.
14. As we find, in making corrections in the present (though we may find it necessary to alter or change these as conditions are adjusted, to make for that which would produce near normal forces in the system):
15. We would have continually the massage osteopathically given; but instead of so GREAT a relaxation in the dorsal (upper dorsal) and the cervical area, we would have a more thorough GENERAL relaxation in the lumbar and coccyx areas; that there may be the stimulations for the proper distribution or eliminations through the eliminating forces in this portion of the system through the regular channels - rather than allowing the localization of inflammation in the organs that may become or do become so easily involved in the disorder. So, while there should be the general massage or manipulation through the upper dorsal and cervical area, there should be the MORE in the coccyx and lumbar area.
16. Also we find it would be beneficial to use a compound for massaging the body when it is ready to retire in the evening (or twice a day perhaps, when or if the pain becomes so great), prepared in this manner: Add together equal parts of Mutton Suet (heated), Spirits of Turpentine, Spirits of Camphor, and Compound Tincture of Benzoin. Heat the Mutton Tallow first, you see, so it may combine with the others. Then, when ready to use, massage just what the body will absorb, across the lumbar area, from about the diaphragm area DOWNWARD on the cerebrospinal system, across the kidneys, across the ileum plexus even. Of course, go over all these portions with the massage, and it would be well that the compound be massaged THOROUGHLY into the lumbar and sacral area, and then over the ileum area; of course from the frontal portions, or through the groin.
17. Then, following such a massage with the compound, we would apply HEATED salt. This should preferably be not too thick, but heated so that it may be applied in a sack, bag or the like, or as a pad. This is much preferable to the electric pad, for the salt will carry those properties into the system through the heat, through the opening of the pores, that will enable the system - through the counter-irritation and through the general circulation that would be stimulated by the activity - to overcome much of this congestion in the area.
882-2 Page 4
18. Massage what the body will absorb of the compound, and then apply the packs; keeping these on for twenty to thirty to forty minutes. Or if desired it will be found well to keep them even longer.
19. We would keep up the eliminations properly, even by the use of colonics at times. For with the throwing out of refuse forces, do not allow the fecal forces or feces to accumulate in the colon so as to make for an irritation at any time. When the colonics or enemas are taken, use an antiseptic solution prepared with such as Lavoris or Glyco-Thymoline; in the proportions of about a tablespoonful to a gallon or gallon and a half of water.
20. As to the matter of the diet, this would be as an outline (though these foods would not be all that would be taken; just as an outline):
21. Mornings - citrus fruit juices, or cereal with fruits - preferably figs or berries or things of such natures. Whole wheat toast. Ovaltine, or coffee in moderation. A coddled egg may be taken occasionally, preferably only the yolk. A little crisp bacon may be had occasionally; not each day, but only very crisp.
22. Noons - vegetable juices, meat juices, and such. Preferably in the middle of the day take dried milk, or malted milk that has the yolk of an egg beaten well into same - with a little brandy or such; not too much but just enough to kill the egg taste. Such a drink would be preferable about the middle of the morning. Then the lunch would be as indicated, with the juices - and whole wheat toast. Only brown breads would be taken at any time.
23. Evenings - well-cooked vegetables or stewed fruits. A little fish, fowl, liver or lamb may be used as the meats. Three times a week use broiled liver in the diet. The sweets taken should be rather blancmange, junket, or such natures where the sugars carried in same may assimilate with the upper gastric flow, or the lacteals - from the assimilations through the flow of the gastric juices from the salivary glands and the upper portion of the stomach, rather than from the lower or the hydrochlorics. These will be found especially in those properties indicated, if the eliminations throughout the body are carried on as we have outlined.
24. Do these and, as we find - though there will be the reactions at times for disorders, but if these are adhered to properly with the keeping of the eliminations - we would bring the better conditions for this body, [882].
25. Ready for questions.
26. (Q) What has been causing the slight temperature, and
882-2 Page 5
now subnormal? (A) The indications, as we have given, of the inflammation in the areas indicated. With the relaxing of the body, the subnormal temperature arises from too great a flow of the lymph to cleanse the portions of the body. Hence the applications of those things suggested.
27. (Q) What caused the pus and albumin, shown in an urinalysis? (A) As indicated. From first the disturbances in the gall duct, the gall bladder area; the overflow from the secretions of the organs for assimilation and digestion. Then congestion and the tendency for the centralizing or localizing of the conditions in the kidney and bladder area. Do as we have indicated and, as we find, we would bring the better conditions for this body.
28. (Q) Is there any trouble in the neck of the bladder? (A) Only inflammation, as we find.
29. (Q) What foods are best to increase my weight and build up resistance? (A) As indicated.
30. (Q) Why do I continue to lose weight? (A) As indicated. The system not assimilating certain food values, owing to those congestions and conditions in the areas as we have outlined. With the removal of these, by the alterations in the manipulations, with the addition of those things to reduce the irritations in the local areas, with the cleansing of the system as given, and the following of the diet outlined, the building up and strengthening of the body should begin. It should not require a great period, but in a week it should be feeling entirely different.
