1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [888].
2. As we find, there are conditions in the general physical forces of the body that produce disturbing effects. But if the causes of the conditions were removed, many disturbing factors that enter from time to time would be eliminated from the system. For often we find various portions of the system are responding to the detrimental influences that have gradually been working upon the vitality of the system, thus causing disorders here and there when their real inception or cause arises from the same source; yet under varying conditions producing varying effects.
3. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [888] we are speaking of, present in this room:
4. First, we find in the BLOOD SUPPLY there are varied indications of disturbances here and there in and under varied conditions of the organs in their functioning. At times we have a very depleted blood supply, low in its vitality; at others some betterment in the numbers of the red blood supply and a lacking in the leukocyte or the ability for proper coagulation when there is produced the periods of irritation in portions of the organism.
5. THE effect that produces this is from the lack of that volatile force necessary from proper secretions of organs in the system to produce the CORRECT eliminations in their coordinant activity in the body. Thus we have a form of humor in the effluvia of the blood supply, caused or produced by a form of catarrhal condition in the lymph circulation. Hence there have been periods when various portions of the system, as in the facial portions, in the antrum, the nasal cavities, the throat, have had a drying condition and caused some irritation. At others we have found these affect the sensory organisms, giving a little disturbance through the ear, the eye, or the speech; causing
888-1 Page 2
these to become, as it were, supersensitive in periods and at others defective in their responses to the nerve energies from same; making responses in the sensory forces of the body itself.
6. The NERVE SYSTEMS, then, at times suffer in these strains, and the body itself finds that at periods - when it analyzes its activities - those things that should make for a peace or a quietude apparently irritate the body in its reactions. Things that may be said by individuals, things that are necessary to be done as duties or as obligations as in relations to others become a drudge, as it were, to the body. These are the characters of mental responses as produced by this general nagging, as it were, of an effluvia or a condition that affects the effluvia of the blood stream itself; producing at times balancing or unbalancing in the coordinating forces in the axis of the neck, through the shoulders; and we have at such times dull heavy pains. They are not from the lungs nor from the capsule or from the pockets of the lungs, but are these drawings - as it were - of this disturbed circulation indicated from the catarrhal effect in the system.
7. In other periods we find the digestive forces become the more affected by the conditions, and there has been the tendency for the organ of digestion to become somewhat shrunk, somewhat out of position by this natural reaction from contracting forces in the activity of the gastric flow from even the glands in the mouth - or the salivary glands, as well as the glands and the ducts in portions of the esophagus itself; so that the food soon fills the stomach and at other times when apparently there is a ravenous appetite a very small mouthful may satisfy. Then at others there is the tendency for that taken to appear to be filled into the throat and produce a fullness. All of these are effects of the disturbed circulation, which makes - in the various centers where there is to be the supply to the organs themselves of the nutriment through nerve energy and blood supply for the carrying on of the activity of digestive forces, or activity through the flow of the circulation - an irritation at times.
8. As to the activities produced in the pancreas, the spleen, the liver and the eliminations through the alimentary canal, all of these suffer as from drying. Hence there have been those periods when constipation has been an effect through the alimentary canal, and the lack of the flow or the activity of the peristaltic movement through the intestinal or eliminating canal has become a portion of the disorder - as well as those periods when the liver, the
888-1 Page 3
spleen and the gall ducts and the activities of the lacteal ducts and the glands that work through same have suffered under the periods of distresses. Hence at other times there is the heaviness across the small portion of the back when there has been disturbance to the glands through the adrenal and to the kidneys, to the bladder, as to make for at times sparse elimination through these organs of elimination. At other times there are the tendencies for the more frequent activity of the bladder, yet the quantity becoming scarce.
9. Then, these are the general conditions that we find are affecting the system, as indicated.
10. In meeting the needs of the conditions for this body, we find:
11. First we would begin with the Atomidine, which will make for an arousing to nearer normalcy the activity of the glands of the system as a whole; but in such measures as not to disturb in a way or manner as to produce too great an irritation for same. Hence we would begin with taking one minim morning and evening for a period of a week (before breakfast and before retiring). Then take two minims morning and evening for a week. Then take three minims morning and evening for a week. Then leave off entirely for a week. Then begin with the one minim again.
12. At the end of the period of the first three weeks, begin with the violet ray treatment - usually the bulb applicator - for a period of five to ten minutes each day, during the period when the Atomidine is NOT being taken in the system. Beginning at the central portion of the spine, at the solar plexus center, we would apply it directly to the body - massaging toward the head, especially over the brachial center and over the upper dorsal area. Then beginning at the 9th dorsal, where we begin from the solar plexus gastric center, we would extend it down the limbs - down the spine to the limbs, across the small of the back, down the sciatic nerve, to overcome these tendencies or to relieve these pressures in the bursae along the joints, along the nerves of the tendons and leaders - superficial activity, to be sure.
13. When there is the beginning of the second period of the one minim of the Atomidine, leave off the violet ray and begin with the massage of oils combined in this manner:
14. To 4 ounces of Russian White Oil as the base, add: Good or Pure Olive Oil......................1 ounce, Oil of Cedar................................1 ounce, Oil of Wintergreen........................1/2 ounce, Compound Tincture of Benzoin..............1/2 ounce,
888-1 Page 4
Coal Oil....................................1 ounce, Oil of Sassafras............................1 dram. These will tend to separate somewhat, but when ready to use of evenings - before retiring each evening, shake together and pour only a small quantity in an open container. Massage into the cerebrospinal centers, from the 1st cervical to the end of the spine - a gentle rotary motion - all along each center, only putting as much as will be absorbed by the body. When through with same, to cleanse, sponge off with a small quantity of rub alcohol. This will make for a GLOW that will stimulate all the centers along the cerebrospinal system. Continue this through the period of the taking of the second period of Atomidine.
15. When left off, after the third week, begin again with the violet ray, leaving off the oil rub.
16. In the matter of the diet, be more mindful that there are less of the acid-producing foods; more of carbohydrates - that is, sweets - but sweets such as honey, fruit, nuts, wine; but only a small quantity of red wine each day, only with black or brown bread - this would make for a stimulating of the whole system.
17. Rather than using cathartics, use high enemas or colonic irrigations; though these the body may take itself, provided it is taken rather slowly.
18. Do this, and we will bring for this body, [888], a near normal condition.
19. Ready for questions.
20. (Q) Is there any condition other than that mentioned in the nose? (A) These are the portions, as we find, where the irritation as indicated fails to make the proper coagulation - as indicated. Do these things as indicated, and we will overcome those disturbing forces in the body.
21. (Q) Any other advice for the body? (A) Do this, as indicated, in a consistent manner; and we will find the vitality, the strength, the outlook of the body upon the physical and mental activities about it will be quite in a different condition.
22. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file (See booklet [which was enclosed] explaining Atomidine; but
