This psychic reading given by Edgar Cayce at 1851 Columbia Road, Washington, D.C., this 12th day of April, 1935, in accordance with request made by the self - Mrs. [889], new Active Member of the Ass''n for Research & Enlightenment, Inc., recommended by Mr. [436].

Time of Reading 11:15 to 11:45 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. Washington, D.C. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [889], present in this room.
2. Now, as we find, while conditions are very good in many respects in the physical forces of the body, there have been - and remain - disturbing conditions. But if the causes were eliminated it would make for a much better physical reaction, and many of the conditions that have disturbed and do at times disturb the body would be eliminated from the system.
3. As we find, there had been in times back something of a lesion forming in the cerebrospinal system at the end of the axis, that makes for a pressure on the glands and the organs of the pelvis - and with reflex action to the ganglia of the lower portion of the plexus from the 9th dorsal center to the digestive forces. Thus there has gradually been builded from time to time that which has cut off the superficial circulation, making for accumulations through the digestive forces of plethora conditions or bulbous attractive forces that tend to make for that which produces TUMOROUS conditions - or the natures of same, but ONLY of the lymph nature. This has hindered the circulation, it has prevented the accumulation of resistances in the body, and gradually has brought about a very poor superficial circulation and at times an excess of the deeper or internal circulation. Hence we have many varied conditions that have arisen from these; as the susceptibility of the body in the activities of the sympathetic system to a great deal of heat or light or the activities in actinic lights. These make for susceptibilities. But, as indicated, this is a reflex condition and arises from the lesion in the coccyx and the last lumbar center; and the other conditions that have hindered the circulation even in the deeper portion of the tissue - as in throat and head - arise from these in this
889-1 Page 2
body.
4. And, as we find, if these were removed, by the according to the vibrations of the system, through removing the pressure there and then making for those coordinated centers as from the lumbar plexus and the plexus in the 9th dorsal as indicated, or for the solar plexus, the rest of these conditions that arise as disturbing factors in preventing the proper assimilations, the proper flow of blood, this tendency for cold and hot sensations, these conditions that arise from the feet and hands at times in the poor circulation there, may be entirely overcome.
5. Hence, we would find, first we would have those adjustments made in the coccyx and the lumbar area here, you see.
6. Then we would begin with the applications of the Wet Cell Appliance that carries in the system the Chloride of Gold solution, that will build for the organs of the system as related to the activities with the glands of the body. And this will make for the nerve plexus, the ganglia, the activities through the system, to be gradually overcome.
7. In making the applications of the Wet Cell, then, it would be applied each day; not longer than twenty minutes, just before the body is ready to retire. One day make the application of the positive anode (or that from the smaller plate) to the 4th DORSAL plexus area, or the secondary cardiac area; and the larger or nickel plate, that passes through solution, to the umbilicii center - but to the right and more over the lacteal and the gall duct area. In the next day's application make the first attachment (of the smaller plate) at the 4th LUMBAR center, and the larger plate at same center as the first - over the lacteal duct and gall duct area.
8. The activities of these passing into the system are to make for an activity in the glands of the adrenal system, coordinating between the hepatic circulation from the liver to the kidneys, and overcoming these tendencies that have existed there for these irritations from nonactivity in excretory and secretive functioning of the organs of the digestive forces, and to make for a stimulation through the heart's activity - as we will have not those tendencies for the skip beat that occurs occasionally, or this tendency for a great change in the pulsations or the pressure in the system.
9. These we would take in this manner, then. First the adjustments in the coccyx. Better that this be relaxed in the sacral and lower lumbar area, even to the coccyx end of the spine, before the adjustments are made. These would be

about two a week for a period sufficient for eighteen to twenty to be taken.
10. Begin almost immediately with same with the use of the appliance carrying those vibrations to the system, in the low electrical vibrations, so that we build up the body- resistance.
11. In the diet keep to those things that are the more alkalin. Not that no acids should be taken, nor carbohydrates, nor the activities that make for the correct digestive forces; but more of the non-acid producing foods. Or, this would be an outline; though, to be sure, it may be altered or changed:
12. Mornings - citrus fruit juices or stewed fruits, fresh fruits or cereals. But do not take the citrus fruit juices AND cereals at the same meal.
13. Noons - preferably all raw green vegetables, though these may be altered between the various kinds or characters. Or there may be had the juices of the vegetables that are cooked preferably not in water, but in their OWN juices - as in Patapar paper, or that are steamed in their own juices. This may include, of course, at times meat juices; but not great quantities of meats. Never any of the white breads. Not too much of the white potatoes, unless an equal quantity of the peeling of same is taken. None of the raw apples, but those that are cooked. These are the things to be warned of. Not too much pastries, but a well balanced diet in the fruits, the vegetables, the meats, is the better for the body.
14. Ready for questions.
15. (Q) Will sea foods be alright for the body, and which one of these should be avoided? (A) Shell fish should be avoided. Sea foods or fish would be very good; especially deep sea fish.
16. (Q) How about eggs? (A) Only the yolk; not the white of eggs.
17. (Q) Will the disturbance in the lungs clear up? (A) This will clear up, for we will make for the building of resistances that have been low - as indicted in the conditions that arise from the activities of the circulation. Beef juices, liver extracts, tripe, should be the more of the meats for the body. Lamb or fowl or fish are good also, but no fried foods.
18. (Q) How much sweets can the body take? (A) If these are of honey or saccharin as their base, eat what the body requires. There will be periods when the body's appetite will desire these, but supply same not from
889-1 Page 4
cane sugar but from honey - and especially in the honeycomb.
19. (Q) Is coffee or tea harmful to the body? (A) In moderation these are well. Do not combine milk with either of these when taken.
20. (Q) Any other suggestions for the body? (A) Do these, keeping the mental attitude in a constructive influence; knowing that in the application of these things we only fit the body for a better expression for its purpose in the material world. Not as for the aggrandizement of self alone, but that the body, the mind, the soul, may be as a channel of blessings to others in the name of Him that is the Giver of all good and perfect gifts.
21. We are through for the present. Two copies to self (one for Osteopath or Chiropractor with directions for spinal adjustments) Copy to Ass'n file (The Wet Cell appliance may be obtained from The Reilly Service, 1908 Broadway, New York City and be used in the home; but be sure to specify the Wet Cell carrying Gold. Or, there is such an appliance in Washington being used by Dr. F. Thos. Evans [D.C.]. You might be able to get the entire treatments, including the spinal adjustments, from his office. See directions [which were enclosed] for preparing pure beef juice. GD.)
