Chevy Chase Time of Reading Sanatorium, 11:10 to 11:25 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. 32nd & Tennyson, Washington, D.C. (Physical Suggestion)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [894].
2. As we find, there is rather a complication of disorders and a making for the incoordinations in the physical forces of the body. These arise from overtaxations and from the lack of the supply of the proper energies that make for keeping the balance of the elements that do not become destructive to the physical energies as they coordinate with the mental reactions, and for those conditions that create for appetites and the effects of these in the system.
3. These, then, as we find, are the conditions with this body, [894] we are speaking of:
4. First, we find the BLOOD SUPPLY shows a very disturbed condition in the liver and the organs of same, as also those taxations and toxic forces that arise from toxemia produced by the conditions that form for making for a humor or an excess of destructive forces in the white blood forces, as destroy the red blood supply in its activity.
5. We find in the NERVOUS FORCES of the body, as has been indicated, the greater seat of or the greater disturbances; though these are effects rather than causes. For the shattering, as it were, of this coordination between the sympathetic responses and the cerebrospinal reactions to the functioning of the organs, has been produced by conditions from without - or in the glands - which have made for this exaggeration of the activities as indicated in the physical forces. Hence this torpidity as has been indicated in the liver, that produces within the system the lack of or the inability for the glands to secrete, which has made for this condition that disturbs the glands, the heart's action, the reactions to the organs of the body itself; allowing those things to become effective or active in the system that draw
894-1 Page 2
upon or sap the vitality of the physical forces in the system.
6. In the functioning of the ORGANS themselves, we find all of these are under stress and strain from the conditions that have been brought about by those excesses of activity, those lacks of activity in the parts of other organs, the inability for the secretions to supply that stabilization in the physical forces.
7. As we find, this may be materially aided; yet it will require a great deal of patience, a great deal of activity that would make for activative forces. It becomes necessary for those time elements for the healing, or for the reactions to set in.
8. In the present we would not change from the natural activities towards the keeping of the quiet, but let these gradually decrease rather than increase.
9. We would not change from the activative forces that keep the organs in their active forces for the excretory and secretive functioning; yet we would add TO those things being done that which will work WITH these for a greater improvement in the general physical forces of the system.
10. First we would begin, then, with taking internally a quarter grain of the Animated Ash three times each week only; not in the capsule but empty the powder upon the tongue and wash down with a little water.
11. Then, five to ten minutes after the Ash has been taken, we would apply the ultra-violet ray; preferably the quartz - not the Sun Lamp nor the carbon light, but the quartz mercury light. This is more penetrating and will make for an activative influence for the system which will release more of the oxygen in the system that will combat with this influence for those tendencies of the system to separate where coordinations between the sympathetic and cerebrospinal have existed in the activative forces of the body. Also this will reduce those influences within the blood supply for this excess of the inflammation that keeps the organs through which it passes at an excess activity.
12. We also find that the general massage AFTER same will be most helpful.
13. This we would do in the present.
14. After a period of sixteen to twenty treatments given in this manner, then we would give further instructions for the corrections of those conditions in this body, [894].
15. Ready for questions.
16. (Q) What would you recommend for the diet? (A) We would not alter that which has been recommended in those applications that make for body-building in the
894-1 Page 3
system.
17. (Q) Where should the light be applied? (A) Over the frontal and back portion of the chest.
18. (Q) For how long and how far away from the body? (A) These should not be - such applications - longer than a minute to a minute and a half, and should be at least thirty-eight to forty-two inches from the body.
19. (Q) Will the suggestions as given help the liver condition? (A) As has been indicated, this is what this is for; to purify the blood stream so as to overcome this hardening and this tendency for the sclerosis condition [cirrhosis of liver?] that has existed and does exist.
20. (Q) What is the condition of the teeth, and what do they contribute to this condition? (A) As we find with the teeth, the natural slowing of the circulation - and the accumulations of the pus or tendency for same - these being unused, as it were - makes for the accumulations to be there. These are caused by the condition, rather than producing the condition; but naturally make for a contribution to the general effect - but NOT the cause. Local attention would be preferable here. And we will find that those additional treatments as suggested here will change and alter the general physical forces of the body.
21. (Q) Is it well to make the body go out every day for exercise? (A) It's well for the body to be in the air, but not too great a quantity of exercise; but there is the necessity of the oxygens for the system.
22. (Q) What glands in the body are particularly affected? (A) The glands in the liver, the adrenal glands, those in the caecum, those about the lacteals. Do these things as indicated, as we find, in addition to that being applied. The Ash three times each week, followed soon after - in five to ten minutes - with the ultra-violet ray, half portion on chest or frontal portion and half portion on the cerebrospinal system - especially from the brachial area to the 9th and 10th dorsal area. These will make for a stimulation without irritating the conditions in the blood stream, and aid the organs under distress.
23. (Q) Should the mineral oil and other properties being given for elimination be continued? (A) They should be continued, as indicated. These should be continued. What we have given is an addition that will aid the body in recuperating and build for that in the system as to not only produce resuscitation to the disturbed forces but revivify the activities generally.

After sixteen to twenty-one treatments, then we would give further instructions.
24. We are through for the present. Copy to Wife " " Ass'n file (See letter [which was enclosed] to the physician who would administer the Ash and the ultra-violet ray.)
