1. GC: You have before you the reading taken, or given, the 25th day of October, 1924, [900-7] with reference to the conversation which occurred between [900] and Wm. E. Lauer, regarding a proposition made by Wm. E. Lauer to [900], which conversation took place October 23, 1924, in the office of Wm. E. Lauer & Co., 74 Broadway, fourth floor, New York City, N.Y. at 11:37 in the morning. You will tell us whether proposition made by Lauer should be accepted, rejected, or whether a counter proposition should be made by [900] to Wm. E. Lauer. If either of these are done, what will the results be? You will also answer any questions regarding these that I may ask.

2. EC: Yes, we have these conditions here.

3. As we have given, we find there are some conditions, apparently, of a minor nature, in the affairs of Wm. E. Lauer that would tend to make a change in the proposition, and he, Lauer, would hedge a bit on this condition. There has been, as given, conditions arisen that would make the proposition better for [900]. As we find here, there are conditions in the future that would tend to make a counter proposition better. There are conditions also that might arise from a counter proposition that would tend to make conditions somewhat strained for those connected with proposition, yet we would give, for the better results, to accept proposition as first given, and we will find, without strain and with the conditions that will arise through this association, that the developments would be satisfactory in the financial way. There will be conditions which will necessitate some close observance concerning this change, notably with that of another partner, or associate. These, with the condition, however, will bring excellent results financially and socially and morally.

4. (Q) Has Lauer any idea of breaking partnership during coming year? (A) No. Not unless other conditions than at present arise. It, the proposition, is more from the conditions that have arisen in Lauer's physical health and surroundings than of

the idea of breaking partnership. We see he has a bad throat this morning. He should use equal parts of salt, soda and cream of tartar as a gargle. Be good for it. - Wormser -

5. (Q) What are things or conditions that should be observed concerning other partner? (A) That the same relations as do exist, and have existed for some time, should remain in the same manner and way that the change does not take from or add to responsibilities of others.

6. (Q) What can [900] do to help in his relations to the other partners? (A) This we find will work itself out in a satisfactory manner. There has been no particular strain. There have been at times some conditions in the mind and the conditions were strained in [900]'s mind connecting the association. The greater trouble was in the mind and not in fact or deed. Keep to the same way that has been in the past, only keeping in touch with the association in the manner that will keep all in the same channel as the business has been conducted heretofore, only assuming more responsibilities himself, as given at first here, for there will be many outer associations of small groups wherein financial assistance through the force of this association will materially assist, and will bring the financial returns as is necessary in such an association.

7. Follow these out, as given.
