Time of Reading 10:50 to 11:25 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., Va. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [908], present in this room.

2. As we find, there are disturbing conditions that are rather subtle in their nature. The affectations and the causes are often confusing, by the reactions to the varied administrations that have been made. Yet, as we find, these may be (the causes) eliminated and the body brought to normalcy in the reactions.

3. This, as we find, will necessitate some changes in the applications as conditions progress; but if the conditions and the applications are watched closely - and being consistent with same - we will bring about near normal forces in this physical body.

4. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [908] we are speaking of, present in this room:

5. In the BLOOD SUPPLY we find the effects of not only a disturbed glandular circulation, or glandular reaction in the system, but those forces activative in nerve plexus that have caused, do cause at times, a great deal of disorder through becoming - as it were - INFLAMED in their activity. Thus they cause in various portions of the system the effects; at times it may be neuritis, again there is a neurotic effect, again it is as a rheumatic condition affecting various portions - and in the various forms that are ordinarily reacting in the system from the SYMPTOMS, or from those conditions. This however, as we find, arises from the effluvia in the blood supply from the glands of the system that are unbalanced. And unless there is a change the natural conditions will be for greater and greater destructive forces in the physical body.

6. We find in the NERVE ENDS at times an itching, an irritation in not only organs but in various portions of the system, in the superficial circulation; and this becomes very aggravating. Then naturally the reaction to the

908-1 Page 2

sympathetic nerve forces is to make for distraction, as it were, to the abilities of the body in its mental attitudes towards things to become anything but PASSIVE and not positive or constructive in its reactions.

7. As to the functioning of the ORGANS themselves, we find there is no ORGANIC disturbance save the functioning of the organs at various times become a great deal disturbed through the activity of the poor circulation and through the activity of the nerves that are inflamed along the WALLS of same. And in the plexus or ganglia we find at times the reactions that make for greater disturbances than at others.

8. In the functioning system, the greater disturbance of the organs is through the excretory system - or the eliminations of the body. For naturally with the inflammatory conditions there is taken up the activity through the alimentary canal, and the irritation that arises at times - as indicated - to the nerve ends in the superficial circulation makes at times an ABNORMAL respiratory reaction, or perspiration in various portions of the body - as just sweat, that comes from the MENTAL reaction. This produces that tendency to keep away from the normal activity of the lymph and emunctory circulation through the alimentary canal. And the organs that make for assimilation become greatly disturbed. And here we find the basis or the FIRST cause of the arising of this condition, through the activities of the disturbance between the positive and negative poles of the system - or in the hepatic circulation; that is, of the liver and the kidneys. For with the disturbance that arose some time back, when there was the readjusting of the system, there was produced in the body - especially in the lacteal area and about the umbilicii center - a drying, or a tendency for the adhering together of the ducts in the lacteal area. Hence the digestive forces have been for long periods as an abnormal activity. And it has been necessary for a great length of time, as considered for an activity of an organ in its functioning, for those foods or properties taken for the system to produce any assimilation through the system. This gradually has builded in the system the lack of a normal peristaltic movement even through the jejunum, and at times when foods are taken we have a great deal of pain through the right portion and then again it will extend across various portions of the alimentary canal and then a very slow activity through the caecum. And it wasn't necessary for the removal, of course, of the conditions in the appendicial area; for little or no inflammation existed there when this was done; the disturbance arose rather from the ileum plexus than from the activities of the caecum or

908-1 Page 3

the appendicial area - or appendicitis.

9. Then, in making the corrections that would bring about the better and the nearer normal activity for this body, we must first make for a cleansing of the GLANDULAR activities; those through the thyroid (for there has been given, of course, those properties as injections that have made for an overactivity in these directions, and those conditions as exist in portions of the system throughout are the EFFECTS of these!), the activity of the glands WITHIN the thyroids, the activities of the secretions in the duodenum, those even with the mammary gland, those activities of the salivary glands. For the body finds quite often there is little flow even of the saliva in the mouth. This is an abnormal condition. For foods in their reaction to the body, AT TIMES (not always) work almost the OPPOSITE. For the sight of food makes for rather at time the lack of an appetite for it, while at others it will react normally. But the appetite is created from the lacteals rather than from the salivary glands, when it should work from either the auxiliary glands to the salivary, or the lacteals and the ducts even to the eye. Those activities throughout the pancreas, the liver (of the glands that secret), the spleen, the kidneys, the adrenals, the caecum and the ileum, all must be cleansed of those impurities that have existed there at times, and set up a different reaction in the system.

10. Then, we would begin with taking the Atomidine, in this manner:

11. First take two minims before the morning meal and two minims before retiring in the evening, in half a glass of water.

12. Each day for eight days increase the amount one minim morning and evening, until eight minims are being taken (or for seven days) morning and evening, see?

13. At that period, leave off for three days.

14. During those three days, take EACH day before retiring the Epsom Salts baths. Now, of course, this will be strength-taking from the body; but use about ten to fifteen pounds to twenty to twenty-five gallons of water - as hot as the body can take it. We want to SWEAT the Atomidine THROUGH the system, see? Or, if it is preferable to the body, dip a blanket in the saturated solution and wrap the body entirely in it; in which case, of course, it would be very well to use an oil cloth so that it won't ruin things. Either manner will make for that perspiration necessary.

15. After taking such a bath we would have a rubdown along the spine, especially, and over all portions of the body, with a compound prepared in these proportions - and mixed IN

908-1 Page 4

THE ORDER as the ingredients are named:

16. To 6 ounces of Russian White Oil, add: Witchhazel.........................3 ounces, Olive Oil..........................2 ounces, Cedar Oil..........................1 ounce, Compound Tincture of Benzoin.....1/2 ounce, Oil of Wintergreen...............1/2 ounce, Oil of Sassafras.................1/2 dram. These, to be sure, will separate when standing; but shake together just before they are to be rubbed on the body. Pour in an open container, as a saucer, plate or the like, and massage same into ALL of the body; ESPECIALLY along the spine. This should be massaged into the body while the body is still warm from the bath, but dried, you see - and keep the body covered.

17. Following the oil massage, to prevent the body from taking cold or causing congestion, it would be well to use the rub alcohol.

18. Do this each evening for three days.

19. Then begin again with the Atomidine; two minims morning and evening, gradually increasing one minim morning and evening until eight drops are being given - just as before.

20. Leave off three days; don't take any.

21. But during the three days take again the Epsom Salts baths, either in the blanket or in the tub as indicated, as hot as the body can take same; and then the oil rubs after same.

22. Now, these things are just the beginning, you see; they will have to be changed. For we must get the poisons OUT of the system, that have been injected into the system - or that have grown in the system from the bad activity of the circulation, before we can BEGIN to build the body up!

23. As to the diet during this period, let it be on this order:

24. Mornings - citrus fruit juices; combining lime or lemon with the orange juice with it is taken - four parts orange juice to one part lime or lemon. Grapefruit or grape fruit juice, GRAPE juice, or pineapple - any of these. At the same meal there may be taken whole wheat or brown toast, or Zwieback, or the like; with a little butter if so desired, but only brown bread - and this doesn't mean white bread just browned! Use whole wheat, rye, Zwieback or the like. Of course, Zwieback is of white, but the mixtures are of rye, wheat, barley and malt.

25. At the same meal there may be taken coddled egg, if so

908-1 Page 5

desired; or a little very crisp bacon.

26. Or, to change same, there may be stewed fruits or dry cereal. Any of the stewed fruits, even though they be acid, if the system desires same take a little at the morning meal; as fresh strawberries with cream, pieplant or the like, or apple (that is baked, not raw), or pears, or berries of any kind.

27. Noons - only raw vegetables, and have them green; not in color but fresh vegetables. None cooked at this meal. These may be taken with a salad dressing, or an oil dressing.

28. Evenings - vegetables that are cooked only in their OWN juices, each one separate - in their OWN juices. The salt that these are to be seasoned with should preferable be of the kelp nature. When a little meat is taken, let it be either of wild game, fish, fowl or lamb. No other kinds of meat; though at times there may be taken a little tripe or pigs' feet or the like - this is only for the gelatin in same that is active in making for coagulations in the body-building.

29. When the Atomidine and the baths have been taken for the periods indicated, we would give further instructions.

30. For the eliminations we would have rather the high enemas; not too much taken at once; for there are those tendencies for the activities of the system that have been so thinned - the wall of the intestinal tract - as to produce soreness, as well as the burning sensation. But when the enema is taken, let there be used two enemas - one of water that carries a level teaspoonful of table salt and a heaping teaspoonful of baking soda to a gallon and a half of water; and in between use OIL enemas also, you see, preferably a combination (that is, half and half) of Olive Oil and Russian White Oil. These should be used, of course, with a force enema; for they will make for bettered conditions through the system.

31. Occasionally take a few drops of Glyco-Thymoline internally as an antiseptic, to pass through the whole system; a few drops - from three to six drops - may be taken in half a glass of water once a day or three to four times a week.

32. Ready for questions.

33. (Q) Of what duration should the salts baths be? (A) As just given, three days.

34. (Q) How long should the body stay in the bath at a time? (A) Until the water gets cold, or begins to get cold. Or if it's wrapped in the blanket, until it is cold - or cool.

35. (Q) Why does my breast, arm and back of my head burn, ache and throb?

908-1 Page 6

(A) Just as indicated, from the lack of the secretions through the activity of the glands as indicated in the mammary glands, in the head and through the thyroid - and the internal activity in the gland. They haven't named these yet; we will give them a very good name - the Muco Glands. [GD's note: Later we heard she had what the doctors called mastitis.]

36. (Q) What results should I expect from having my gall bladder removed? (A) Expect that you'll have a good deal of trouble until you get the body balanced to making for the secretions of the glands necessary, that will make for the activity necessary in the system through such things. The gall duct and the ducts through the appendicial area are necessary; they are not attachments that have grown from something else! but they are necessary to the individual activity of a system! When these are removed from the body, it becomes necessary that the body adjust itself and that other glands or other portions of the system create or build that necessary for the carrying on the functioning of these organs. As from the organs of the gall duct area, secreting that which is activative with the secretions from the pancreas, secretions from the liver, secretions from the spleen to carry certain elements into the system so that the activities through the body are normal. The body will always suffer from a slow activity through the alimentary canal.

37. (Q) What kind of tube to be used for the high enema? (A) The colonic tube, or colon tube. Do these things for those two periods as indicated - which should be for twenty-one days. Then we would give further instructions.

38. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file (See booklet [which was enclosed] on Atomidine. See letter [which was enclosed] to druggist with directions for preparing compound.
