Time of Reading 4:00 P. M. Eastern Standard Time. ..., N.Y. (Body & enquiring mind, who seeks advice, counsel and guidance as to his personal enlightenment in regard to all phases of his life. You will answer the questions which he has submitted, giving any mental, physical or spiritual suggestions that will be helpful to him at this time)
1. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [912], and those conditions physical, mental and spiritual, that are problems, duties, in the present experience of the entity.
2. In the physical forces of the body there are some conditions that would make for a different outlook upon life, were there changes made in some directions. Some of these, however, have been builded in the experience of the body in such a manner that would there be changes in some directions there would be required a different standard of conditions set as the criterion. These relate mostly to the aspects of the mental, imaginative and sex life of the body; however, a change must be desired by the body before there would or could be given other than suggestions in relationships to individuals and others for an alteration. If the body is satisfied in the present outlook upon such conditions, then these are ideal, they are that desired, and it would not be necessary for a change; but such will eventually make for conditions that must be very unsatisfying, very unactive in respects that make for the activity in self of a life spent in a service as from the Giver of life.
3. The general physical body we find very good in many respects.
4. Ready for questions.
5. (Q) Can you advise me what type of business I am best fitted for? (A) That which has been in the mental and material training and application of self, in those directions would, as we find, be the better. We would NOT change in the present
912-1 Page 2
from those present efforts in these directions; for the activities of the body, the abilities of the mental and physical lie in that direction, in dealing both with people and things, and people's relationships to things; hence such as insurance, real estate, rentals, and the like, is an environ that requires activities in that direction, and should be made to be remunerative and satisfying to the body.
6. (Q) What can I do to make a financial success in this line? (A) In applying self in any service that is dealing with individuals and things there is required first a thorough knowledge of the subject, or the thing being dealt with, and then it is necessary to work with people in and with the idea that the service rendered respecting their relationships with the things will be with the idea and ideal of their building in association with the same that which is constructive and in keeping with that which will make for IDEALS in their experience. Not in the manner that such properties are to be just a place to "hang out", just a place to stay, just another piece of property disposed of that moneys may be collected for the same, but that the properties, the individuals, the associations, are such that each individual is led to be in a position to be more constructive in the associations of the properties that become associated with the individuals - see? Then, this requires study of human nature, and the needs, wants, desires, in individuals' lives. When inspecting or making estimates, then, know the properties that may be in demand, KNOW just in looking at individuals who would fit into that picture, to make for that in their lives that would be a helpfulness in their experience. The associations of business, the work, the people, the returns, the successes for self and for associates, will increase a thousand percent. Do that.
7. (Q) Do you believe it best for my wife [911] to remain with me, since I have the feeling that I am in for a long struggle to make good in business, and have others depending on me - and since at times I feel that it is unfair to ask her to share these troubles of mine, which react on her through me, especially when they are especially burdensome to me? (A) In considering such relationships, duties, troubles, conditions that present themselves as problems, it has long been considered that the first duty of a person is to that one whom the person has honored with their name, their
912-1 Page 3
presence, their goods, their bads, their troubles, their joys, their sorrows. If these have reached, or are reaching, those proportions that within self they have become not only burdensome for self but for self's helpmeet, then for THEIR good - for self's good, for the duties that weigh upon self - it would become better were arrangements made so that, all things considered, there would be sufficient time (as called) to elapse for ALL concerned to adjust themselves to those conditions that are builded in the conditions and experiences of all concerned. Then, as we would find, when the wife, the self, the obligations, the conditions that surround all are taken into consideration, it would be better that such arrangements be made to give a period, or a time, or an experience, that these MIGHT adjust themselves to those obligations or duties that are upon each individual.
8. (Q) If my wife remains with me, how can I be of more help to her? (A) Be of more help to her away from her!
9. (Q) What further would you suggest I do to help make our marriage a live, growing, mutually happy relationship? (A) Give that unselfish period for the adjusting of self, the adjusting of self's body and its relationships to the body of the wife and its relationships, that these may work to that where each may, in the service one to another, render the greater service to the Maker and those dependent upon each, dependent with each, in such relationships.
10. (Q) Is my attitude toward sex the right one? (A) This must be answered in self, as to whether it is that which is ideal in the light of that known by self respecting such relationships. This would not be answered from here; for, as has been given, there must first be the desire for a change before there might even be given that which would be helpful to make such change.
11. (Q) What can I do to make our sex relationships more satisfactory to my wife? (A) If they are to be together, this is to be different! This is not compatible with what we have given!
12. (Q) Have I made my family too dependent on me? (A) Individuals must live their OWN lives, but not in such a selfish or dependent manner as not to be able to stand alone. Then, taking all into consideration that has been the needs and necessities of the family, only on rare occasions has the dependence been too great.
13. (Q) Can I help them find the best course they are to follow, or am I too solicitous about them?
912-1 Page 4
(A) Be solicitous, to be sure, but not in such a manner as just given, that they lose their independence. Take this as the first and foremost solicitation respecting their welfare: Seek God and His kingdom FIRST; THEN all those things NECESSARY of the material nature will be added in their regular order, for HE knows what each has need of before it is needed. In that manner then, "AS THE FATHER KNOWS ME, SO MAY I KNOW THE FATHER, for we are One WHEN my will is one with His." What matter that there be a day, a week, a year - yea, many years of the necessary purification of self to find an ideal? In building to that ideal as the standard will bring that contentment in mind such that the body, the material things will adjust themselves and BUILD themselves in that direction where one may hear, "Thou hast fought the good fight; contentment, peace and harmony, will be and IS thy lot." THIS is the best to build in the experience of ALL dependent upon self, whether in mental, material, or the physical things of life; for we are all ONE in Him. MAKE life, make God, a PRACTICAL thing, and use - not abuse - those privileges, those blessings, those favors that He gives thee and thy loved ones day by day.
14. (Q) Am I mentally lazy, and can you suggest how I can best arouse my mental energy to help me live a full life, both as far as my marriage and my business are concerned? (A) We would concern self principally now with the BUSINESS; for when the life has adjusted itself the marriage relations, the business relations, the material relations and the spiritual relations are of ONE measure, and should be the same experience in the life of all. When life is made into such a manner that the life is one, all thoughts are one. So, it has been given how to make the business relationships not only interesting but worth while, helpful, remunerative; and builded upon that principle, that policy, will make those relationships in every walk of life as not idealistic things but REALITY; for life IS real, life IS earnest! The grave is not the goal; for life is ONE! It is in Him! Lose not thy birthright in Him for secular things.
15. (Q) Am I too selfish? (A) Selfishness is the greater fault in MOST individuals. There should be set before self an ideal, a SPIRITUAL ideal. Not such an ideal that "I would like to have a house like John Smith's, and a wife that dresses like Mrs. Smith, and a car like John Smith's boy runs, or a dog or a horse such as those." THAT'S material! Rather set an ideal in the SPIRITUAL sense, and know that he that would be greatest
912-1 Page 5
among men will be the servant of all. The servant CANNOT be selfish, either in nature, in person, in fact, but prefers the other in preference to self. In serving in the business relationships, KNOW the business, know what life would be aided by being associated and related to such a place, or business, and so does selfishness become rather BLESSEDNESS in the eyes of those the body mentally, physically, would serve.
16. (Q) What foods should I avoid? (A) Those that tend to make for acidity in the general system.
17. (Q) How can I prevent attacks of malaria? (A) By CLEANSING the blood stream, by the addition to the system of those elements that would make for more of a cleansing through the activity of the glands of the system, that aid also in the creating of more of that plasm that makes for leucocyte in the urea and in the hemoglobin. Take from three to five minims of Atomidine each day for periods of three to five days, then rest the same period and begin taking again. Do this until at least three such courses have been taken.
18. (Q) Any further physical conditions to correct? (A) As we find, as given, the physical forces of the body are very good. These tendencies in the directions of some of the conditions referred to cause much of the drain upon the system, that makes for those weaknesses in some directions. Keep before the mental body that that will ever be CONSTRUCTIVE in its nature; for the mind IS the builder, the spiritual or the ideal is the life. If the ideal is set in material things, these do rust, they do corrupt. If the ideal is set in heavenly things, in spiritual things, they grow brighter by use, they grow more harmonious by their age and attunement, and build in the material body, the material experience of the body, that which is SATISFYING in that it brings contentment.
