1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [924], present in this room.
2. Now, as we find, conditions in many respects are very good; yet there are disturbing conditions a nearer normal reaction of which brought in the present would make for much better general reactions, bringing about much nearer normalcy for this body, also preventing a disturbance later on that would be much harder to combat.
3. These conditions, as we find, have to do with the changes in the nervous forces as related to the activities of organs and the metabolism of the body, with disturbance in functioning of organs.
4. Then, these are the conditions as we find them with this body, [924] we are speaking of, present in this room:
5. We find the BLOOD SUPPLY somewhat slow in its circulation, even though the pressure and the activities are abnormal. This, as we find, is produced by more than one cause; a poor elimination through the alimentary canal that causes constipation, and inactivity of the liver in relation to the excretory and secretive functioning. This produces more of a pressure in the sympathetic system, and we have THESE reactions upon same:
6. At times the body becomes very irritable, over apparently no cause. At other times there is the tendency for moroseness or melancholia; at others there are the indecisions in some directions, with the desires to change or move or to become dissatisfied with whatever may be the surroundings at the time. Loss of appetite at other times; inability to rest well in the evenings, or to feel after such rest as having obtained any rest; tired, stretchy feelings after same. These are the reactions upon the nervous forces of the body from those suppressions in the activity of the organs of elimination, of digestion; and there is a tendency for the adhesions or lesions in the
924-1 Page 2
lacteal duct area, making for the tendency toward the drying of tissue, and with the lack of proper secretions from the liver causing the poor peristaltic movement through the intestinal tract. Hence constipation, as indicated from other causes also.
7. In the NERVOUS FORCES of the body, as indicated, these pressures seen in the liver reactions - that come to those in the upper dorsal area - make for a feeling of tiredness under the shoulder blades, back of the neck at times; low or dull headaches, with heaviness through the pelvis at other times.
8. These are the reactions, then, to the SUPERFICIAL circulation - or to the sympathetic nervous forces in the upper dorsal rather than segmentations or activities in portions of the cerebrospinal system that affect the central nerve force of the body.
9. As to the functioning of the ORGANS themselves, we find:
10. Brain forces are very good. At times there are those tendencies for the sympathetic effects to the organs of the sensory system. Hence dullness in the hearing, or at times it is more of a roaring, or a tendency to feel fullness in these portions. At times there is a burning. These are the effects of this superficial circulatory disturbance as indicated from those pressures in the upper dorsal area.
11. As we find with the mouth or the teeth, these need some LOCAL attention. One or two, as will be indicated, dependent upon the character of the reactory forces in the body, will require being attended to by a sympathetic reaction, or taking care of same. None, as we find, should necessitate removal at present.
12. In the throat, bronchi and larynx we find a heaviness at times, yet these are rather sympathetic from the reactions in the nervous forces of the body.
13. Lungs are very good.
14. The activity of the heart, as indicated, the metabolism is disturbed, and the slowness of pulsation makes for heaviness in the extremities at times; but not an organic disturbance, more from the liver and sympathetic circulatory forces of the body.
15. Digestive system shows disturbances at times, and at others it is very good.
16. In the functionings of the liver we find a seat or a cause of a disturbance, as we do also with the balancing between the hepatic circulation, the eliminations through the organs of the pelvis - that make for disorders or periods of disturbances in these directions. For these changes in the activities produce a CONTRIBUTORY cause to
924-1 Page 3
the nerve force of the body.
17. As we would find, then, in making for corrections for the body, we would add first these:
18. In the beginning we would prepare a tonic to be taken, in this way and manner:
19. To 2 ounces of Compound Simple Syrup we would add: Essence of Wild Cherry Bark...........1/2 ounce, Compound Syrup of Sarsaparilla........1/2 ounce, Cascara Sagrada........................20 minims, Syrup of Senna.........................10 minims, Syrup of Rhubarb.......................20 minims, Elixir of Calisaya....................1/2 ounce, 10% solution Iodide of Potassium.......15 minims, 10% solution Bromide of Potassium......10 minims. Shake the solution well together before the dosage is taken. And the dose would be half a teaspoonful after each meal.
20. We find it would be well to use the high enemas occasionally. We would use one after the first day even, with a saline and a soda solution; that is, to a gallon or a gallon and a half of tepid water add a level tablespoonful of salt, and not a heaping but more than a level tablespoonful of soda - baking soda. In the last quart of water, which would be separate or different, we would use an antiseptic such as Glyco- Thymoline - two teaspoonsful to a quart of water. This will tend to prevent irritation. But with the combined cathartics and cleansers for the blood (in the compound), and for the purification of the activities through the liver, the spleen and the activities of the gall duct, we will cleanse the whole system. Because this tends to make for a falling away in the weight at first, do not become alarmed at same.
21. When two-thirds to three-fourths of the quantity of the compound has been taken, THEN we would begin with the deep manipulations that would be given by the ELECTRICALLY driven vibrator - RATHER than even the manipulations or adjustments. For we need the superficial activity, as indicated. But these should be taken consistently when begun, and taken for at least a period of twenty to thirty minutes each evening for periods of four to five days, then a rest period from same for a few days, then begin again. Take these preferably in the evening as the body is ready to retire, for the body should rest easily after these have been given - and when the body has been cleansed by the use of the compound prepared as indicated. In giving the vibrator treatment, we would begin at the central portion of
924-1 Page 4
the body (on the spine) and move downward, and especially over the lumbar area, across the lower portion of the sacral - even down the lower limbs will make for relieving of this tiredness. Then begin at the central portion of the spine and go upward, towards the head; and for this we would use the cup or the sponge applicator - while for the lower spine we would use the ball, plate or cup applicator; preferably the deeper vibration of the ball or plate at first, followed by the cup applicator.
22. In the diet be mindful that the foods are kept rather toward the alkalin-reaction; though we would keep them well-balanced with proteins AND the carbohydrates - but let the carbohydrates be rather the juices of the fruits, as may be clarified, or using honey or the like. For the proteins we would use principally fowl or lamb. Or an outline of the diet would be as this:
23. Mornings - citrus fruit juices. Eggs may be taken, but use more of the yolk than of the white - and they should be prepared either in the form of soft-scrambled or coddled. Whole wheat toast. Crisp bacon occasionally. Cereals with fresh fruits or stewed fruits may be taken occasionally, but not at the same meal with citrus fruits.
24. Noons - preferably a combination vegetable AND fruit salad, with a little stew such as made from either lamb, fowl, or rice and fowl, or the like.
25. Evenings - leafy vegetables. Not too much of the pod or tuberous variety. Have at least three of the leafy to one of the pod, or three of the leafy to one of the tuberous nature - such as carrots, onions, potatoes or the like. The proteins in fowl or lamb may be included with this meal, but not too great a quantity; and the type of sweets as indicated.
26. Do these, being consistent and persistent; for we should in a very short time find a great difference.
27. While there will be periods when there will be rather the reverting, when the body will be - as it were - out of sorts, a brisk rubdown at such times with COLD water along the spine will be found to be helpful.
28. But with the properties taken in the compound (at least until three-fourths of the quantity has been taken), with the exercises as from the electrical vibrations, with the adherence to the diet, we should bring near normal forces for this body.
29. Ready for questions.
30. (Q) What is cause and cure for soreness? (A) Poor eliminations. The cause has been indicated, and the cure - as to how the conditions may be overcome and
924-1 Page 5
eradicated from the system. The soreness arises from poisons, and the accumulations through various portions of the body.
31. (Q) Are there any abscesses in the system? (A) There are the tendencies of the mucous to accumulate in portions, but not abscesses. These MIGHT become abscessed unless we use those things for the eliminations and the eradication of same through the alimentary canal, stimulating the excretory and secretive functioning of the system. But do these as we have indicated, and we will find we will bring normalcy for this body.
32. (Q) In what minerals am I deficient? (A) Nineteen! Gold, silver, platinum, silicon, iron - and the like.
33. (Q) Why do I have such a ravenous appetite? (A) The desire to supply, or the desire of the body-functionings to supply the elements lacking. The body should be PURIFIED by the use of those properties indicated, so that FROM the normal diet - or from the diet as indicated - the proper elements may be supplied.
34. (Q) How often should the enemas be given? (A) As they are necessary. Even though the bowels move from the activity of the properties indicated in the compound, it would be well for the enemas to be given occasionally to eliminate FROM the colon those tendencies for the activities of the organs to throw into the alimentary canal the cathartics and eliminants which are contained in the compound. Hence these would be taken three or four times a week, but oftener if it is necessary to keep the eliminations from the system.
35. (Q) Are there abscesses in the teeth? (A) There are some abscesses. These are NOT necessarily, though, of such a nature that they would require the removal - if they are handled properly locally.
36. (Q) How much water should she drink daily? (A) Eight pints a day!
37. (Q) Why do I have that crazy feeling in my head at times? (A) The poisons in the system not eliminated, and the pressure upon the nervous system as has been outlined. Do those things indicated, and we will bring the normalcy for this body.

(See letter [which was enclosed] to Druggist with directions for preparing the compound, which is to be the first portion of your treatment. In the meantime have Mrs. Storey to order you a good electrical vibrator at cost price, or arrange to start that treatment when the time comes. Miss Wynne or Mrs. Ellington can help you get started with the enemas properly. If everything is not clear, let us know. GD.)
