1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [931].
2. Now, as we find, while the body-physical is very good in many respects, there are disturbing conditions the correction of which in the present would prevent a great many of the disturbing conditions that arise as an effect of these conditions or disorders - and prevent a great deal of disturbance later, that would naturally become a portion of the whole physical actions in the organs that are disturbed by these reactions in the present.
3. These, then, are the conditions as we find them with this body, [931], we are speaking of:
4. IN THE BLOOD SUPPLY, there becomes a disturbance through the manner in which assimilation is carried on. Hence in the superficial activity or flow of the blood there are produced in the extremities the effects of the character or nature of activities that cause this disturbance in the assimilating system. The effect is indicated in a rash that occurs at times on portions of the lower limbs, as indicated in the manner of an abnormal perspiration in the hands at times. Also there is the effect to the body from cold or congestion, or the body is easily susceptible to cold and congestion by the manner in which the circulation is disturbed through the organs of the throat, of the face, of the nasal passages, by this character of reaction.
5. For a form of acidity, that arises from the unnatural position of the stomach itself, forms - as we find - the basis for the greater disturbance with this body.
6. IN THE NERVOUS SYSTEM, we find, with these conditions that make for a disturbance through the digestive forces, the nerve forces become reactory. This is indicated by the lack of proper coordination in the portions of the body where disturbances arise.
7. The lack of proper secretions from the thyroids in their activity is a nervous reaction. Hence portions of the body
931-2 Page 2
are disturbed by the lack of sufficient activity of these organs or glands to draw or secrete from the system those necessary elements for formation in a structural portion; as the disturbing condition to the general reaction that becomes apparent upon the fingers - and hair on portions of the body.
8. This is a nervous reaction from an incoordination of the sympathetic and the cerebrospinal, in the impulses as produced by pressure from the acid functioning of the disturbed organs as indicated.
9. IN THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS THEMSELVES, brain forces, as we find, react near normally to impulse; though with the nervous reflexes that cause disturbance - unless changes are made - there will be the lack of the proper coordinant efficiency that is in accord with the general conditions of the body itself.
10. The organs of the sensory forces in their responses as indicated from the nerve reflexes, at times produce a disturbance to the sense of smell; only through the circulation that becomes impaired by the nervous reflex.
11. The throat, the bronchi, the lungs and larynx, as we find - as indicated - are only affected nervously.
12. The heart's activity is near to normal organically, save at periods when there may be the indication of a superacidity produced by the manner in which fermentation takes place - or the lack of the proper quantity of the coordination between the lactics and the acids in the system from the lack of the proper emptying of the stomach itself. Or at other times there is too quick a reaction without the gastric flow being sufficient for proper assimilations.
13. In the functioning of the digestive forces, as may be indicated from these disturbances - we have a reflex through the activity of the secretions from the liver; from those ducts that make for coordination with assimilation. For these naturally become in sympathetic disturbance to portions of the body itself.
14. As to the eliminations through the alimentary canal, we find there are at times those tendencies for the lack of the proper eliminations through this acidity - and the tendency for the colon to at times become clogged, especially in the caecum area.
15. The effect upon the system by the nervous disturbance through the activities of the organs of the pelvis makes for periods when the eliminations through these organs become a portion of the disturbance, through the manners of the period- elimination; though there is no organic reaction, as we find.

16. Then, in making for the corrections of those things that disturb this body in the present:
17. We would first begin with the applications of a low form of electrical vibration that may be had through the use of the plain violet ray. Not the deep therapy, but the hand violet ray machine - which will act upon the superficial circulatory forces of the body - applied along the cerebrospinal system. This will relax the body and stimulate the ganglia along the whole cerebrospinal system. Use the plain bulb applicator each day, preferably as the body is ready for retirement, for a least five minutes. Move the bulb applicator rather in a circular motion from the center of the spine toward both extremities; that is, begin in the center and move upward - then begin in the center and move downward - but in a circular motion on each side of the spine from the brachial center, and also from the lumbar center.
18. After the electrical treatments have been given for three to four days (sufficient to start the relaxing and stimulating of the body), then begin with osteopathic adjustments in the upper dorsal area more specifically. Make corrections in the cerebrospinal centers from which impulses arise for nerve reflection (reflexion) to the organs themselves. These would preferably be given twice each week, until practically thirteen to fifteen treatments had been given.
19. Also begin with the use of a SUPPORT that may be had for holding, as it were, the stomach in its proper position. Wear this for sufficient period until there are the adjustments, through the manipulations, to those centers from which impulse for activity is received for the upper or the cardiac portion of the stomach. So this support would be begun to be worn only after the adjustments osteopathically are begun. And rather than recommending from here any specific make of abdominal support, we would PREFERABLY use the type that would be inaugurated by the one who makes the osteopathic adjustments, so that it FITS the existent conditions. For the strain, as may be intimated from the condition in the cardiac portion, is rather from a tipping down of the stomach - than up.
20. We would also be mindful that the diet is such that makes for more of a proper balance between the acids and the alkalines. So, we would use more of the alkaline-reacting foods, and those that carry more iodine content; as from lobster, shellfish, and the like. NONE of the foods taken should ever be FRIED foods!
21. Doing these, as we find, we will make those corrections
931-2 Page 4
necessary - in this manner - to eliminate these disturbances that arise from this poor circulation, produced by poor assimilation; and we will make for the corrections that will aid the body to function the nearer normal, bringing nearer normal conditions for this body, [931].
22. Ready for questions.
23. (Q) I am near-sighted, but at times of late I seem to have difficulty in focusing. [At other times they seem perfectly normal except for short vision.] (A) This has been indicated by those disturbances to the sensory forces, causing pressures by the poor circulation. The stimulation of the reflexes to centers in the upper dorsal and through the cervical area, by the manipulations as well as the stimulation to the superficial activity through the electrical forces, will enable the body to so function in the elimination manners - or through the drainages set up - as to aid materially in these disturbances there.
24. (Q) What should I do to prevent recurrent attacks of sinus? (A) Have those applications as indicated; the corrections in the upper dorsal, the manipulations, and - more specifically, of course - keep away from too great an acidity in the food values. These will prevent such disturbances.
25. (Q) What can I do to prevent the splitting of the fingernails, or to correct the condition? (A) Add those influences that will form greater activities through the thyroids, which will make for a stimulation that will gradually - not at once - cause a normal growth; especially if the alkalinity is kept nominally balanced in system.
26. (Q) What can I do to whiten and soften my hands, that look years older than my age? (A) This condition again is an indication of what we have given, as to how there is a strain upon the nervous system - through those areas that make for the flow of impulse through brachial center to the upper extremities - or to the hands. The system attempting to adjust itself to the slowed impulse, produces this condition. The excess of perspiration in the palms of the hands is an indication of the system's attempt, also, to throw off the excess poisons that are caused by this improper flow. We will find conditions improved when all portions of the body are receiving their proper impulse, and the proper flow of fresh, new blood forces that are properly assimilated and distributed through body - the life-giving forces.

To be sure, there may be used those lotions that may aid, but these are oft more harmful than beneficial. As we find, a compound that may be helpful may be prepared in this way and manner: To 1 ounce of Tincture of Benzoin, add: Glycerine...........3 minims, Rosewater...........2 ounces. Shake this solution and massage into the skin, after a cleansing with any alkaline agency or soap. It will soften the hands, and thus enable - while there are those changes being made in the system - a different condition in same.
27. (Q) Will I ever be able to lay aside my glasses? (A) This depends, to be sure, upon the responses to the affected portions - from the change in circulation. The eyes and all the sensory organs, as indicated, will be materially aided. This will be a gradual, though helpful, reaction - but do not lay aside the glasses too soon.
28. (Q) Since my recent illness I tire easily. What can I do to build up energy and stamina? (A) This has been indicated. Relieve the system of the toxic forces that have occurred and do occur continually, in a greater or lesser degree, depending upon the quantity of the activities of the body in relation to the disturbing forces. Applying these things suggested for the corrections, as we find, we will bring for this body the abilities not only for the removing of disturbing forces but the ability to build resistance and stamina throughout.
29. Do that indicated.
