1. GC: You will have before you the body and the enquiring mind of [943], Cadillac Hotel, New York City, and his oil proposition, and negotiations he has with the Sinclair Oil Co., also individual group in Baltimore. You will advise him which of these he should follow out, and the necessary steps he should take to make a success out of it, if it can be done with either of those groups.

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, the enquiring mind, [943]. Also the oil propositions. This we have had before. The negotiations as are had by the body, both of these present more than a possibility, yet in quite different manners. One would require the body raising some outside capital, or of giving a great deal of personal interest, still making a personal application of the abilities of self to negotiate outside capital for operations. This is POSSIBLE, yet would be rather hard to do under existent circumstances. That with the Sinclair Oil Company. Or it may be possible to negotiate with these individuals (Sinclair Oil Company we are still speaking of) as respecting the completion of the hole already begun, by getting outside capital to assist in completion. As to the individual prospect in Baltimore, with the well already started used as an incentive for quick operation, this would present the better opportunity of success, or quicker success, and the body would have better interests for self in this direction. Would the body weigh one with another of the two, this offers the best proposition, as we see it. Yet we would NOT turn down or withdraw from the proposition with Sinclair at the present time, for there are some reports that are being checked over and, with the findings, these should offer a GOOD opportunity, would the body be willing to tie self in the manner as desired by those handling same. So, both propositions are MORE than a prospect. As to the manner in which to handle, that as outlined with be that NECESSARY, would the body make a successful proposition with either group. We are through for the present.
