Time of Reading Hollywood, 11:20 to 11:30 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. California.

1. GC: You will give the physical condition of this body at the present time, with suggestions for further corrective measures; answering the questions he has submitted, as I ask them:

2. EC: Yes, we have the body, [949].

3. As we find, the irritations which arise in the upsetting of the digestive forces, the headaches, those tendencies for contracting cold easily, arise from superacidity in the system.

4. Hence there would be necessitated first the better eliminations through the alimentary canal, by the stirring of the activity of the liver as related to the general hepatic circulation.

5. Then there would need to be a better balancing with the diets; and that the attitudes of the entity and body towards general conditions be kept more of a constructive way or manner.

6. The arousing of the eliminations may be best accomplished for this body through the use of a combination of Fletcher's Castoria and California Syrup of Figs - or alternate the doses of these, but take them in a manner in which the greater effect is had; which would be small quantities taken often. In one half hour period take half to three-quarters of a teaspoonful of the Castoria, then the next thirty minutes (on the hour) take half to three-quarters of a teaspoonful of the Syrup of Figs. To be sure, the active principle in each of these is Senna, but the effect of the rest of the properties in the Figs would be to the activities of the pancreas and spleen, while the pumpkin seed and oils as combined in the Castoria will make all of these more effective for the system. Continue these for a whole day, or until there is a THOROUGH stirring of the liver and a cleansing of the system.

7. Then we would keep a little more often, for the present, those general manipulations osteopathically given for the

stirring of the activity of drainages from the upper portion of the alimentary canal, or the emptying of the stomach.

8. Then as to activities in the diet:

9. It is well that there be kept about a twenty percent acid-producing to an eighty percent alkalin-producing diet.

10. Have the cereals such as whole wheat, or a combination of wheat and barley (as in Maltex), as a part of the diet three or four times each week.

11. On the other days have citrus fruit juices. When orange juice is taken, put a little lemon juice in same; say have half to a quarter of a lemon squeezed in a glass of the orange juice. This will make it much more palatable.

12. Do not eat any large quantities of syrups OR candies, especially until this inclination for the strep that causes some temperature and the headaches is eliminated from the system - and then not too much.

13. Beware of fried foods - these are harmful.

14. Milk and milk products are very well to be a greater portion of the diet.

15. Have at least one portion of a meal each day consist of a combination of raw vegetables; especially such as celery, lettuce, spinach, radish, onions or leeks, cabbage or the like. Any of these may be mixed or used separately; or tomatoes, peppers - any or all of these may be combined; but let such be at least a part of one meal each day.

16. No red meats. Preferably fish, fowl or lamb - but never any of these fried.

17. Do this and as we find we may keep the better conditions.

18. In the activities, have at least an hour to two hours as much in the open each day as is practical; either riding, handball or golf or the like.

19. Do that. Ready for questions.

20. (Q) Would you suggest one to give the proper treatments? (A) These may be given by one who has administered these before, you see.

21. We are through with this Reading. [GD's note: Due to many interruptions we were late getting started with the Reading. There were two other Check Readings to be given. Mrs. Cayce presented the first name on the list, which was a lady in New York. Mr. Cayce repeated the name and address as he always does in locating the body. Then he said, "Better begin with [949] - he is going out!" So Mrs. C. then presented your name and address, and we got yours first. This was very unusual, an out of the ordinary happening, so thought you would be interested. GD.]
