1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [952]. Now, we find there are abnormal conditions with the physical forces of the body. The conditions in their inception have to do with hindrances in the eliminations, and the characterization of the lymph and the blood supply as related to that as assimilated for the system. Hence there is seen those conditions in which there comes the accumulation of that element as first produced irritation to ligaments at bone ends, and then the hardening or the drawing of same to the extent that the stiffness and the irritation is the result of same in the ganglia, in the nerve ends, as attach themselves to the bone, in sinew and muscular forces in the extremities, and especially in the lower lumbar region. The acuteness of the conditions at times is produced also by those pressures as have existed in the first portion, or the beginning of the condition in the lower LUMBAR and in the sacral and coccyx. These were brought about, as we find, first by adhesions. THEN there were the formation of those as called LESIONS in these portions of the system, and this continuation of the accumulations - without the ELIMINATION - the system has CONTINUED, then, to respond only to temporary reliefs, coming in the various cycles of the body's reaction to more ACUTE conditions, extending to the lower extremities and to the upper ends of the sciatic centers themselves. In the effects as are created, we find those disturbances first had to do with the glands in their formation of the various elements necessary for the accumulation in system of that vital force as necessary to produce coagulation, following the ASSIMILATION and use of muscular forces within the system. These, then, leave too much of the potash and of calcium in the system; so that the diets as will be necessary will be those that are in OPPOSITION to those of the calcium and of potash. Also we
952-1 Page 2
will find that there will be necessary to relieve those of the acute conditions by the application of exterior forces that will act as a solvent in a counteracting manner, as will be found that - while these may be IRRITATING at times, but that necessarily there shall be the packs of Epsom Salts about the ends, especially following the manipulations - which will necessarily be rather those that follow out, in the beginning, those of the radial nerve ends from plexus where the contraction has become MOST severe; rather than of the deeper manipulation; though, as conditions progress, these may be given stronger and stronger as eliminations are set up. More of the sodas shall be given in the system, carrying WITH same those of that force as will ENLIVEN the glands to their better reaction. This, as we find, would be found in the use of that of the Chloride of Gold one grain, to one ounce of distilled water. When prepared for the dosage, there would be three to eight drops of the solution of Gold added with that of six to eight drops of the Bicarbonate of Soda, as would be made six ounces distilled water with twelve grains of Bicarbonate of Soda. Only mix the solution together when given as a dosage. This would be given at least twice each day in the beginning.
2. In the treating of the body with electrical vibratory forces, we would use the violet ray. PRINCIPALLY would these be applied in the extremities; palms of hands, along the inside and under side of arm, on feet, and under side of limbs. These would be of a very low vibration in the beginning.
3. While the body should take sufficient exercise, not to become too much of set in the way of locomotion; yet not that, that will give too much of a strain to the system.
4. We will find the body will respond quickly in the beginning, then there will be the periods of apparent reaction and going back, but the body mental must also hold to self that WILL be builded IN the physical forces, will the APPLICATION of SELF as to that that may be ACCOMPLISHED be kept in accord with the applications as may be given. Ready for questions.
5. (Q) Should joints be massaged, and how often? (A) In the beginning, we will find that the massage would begin in the coccyx, lumbar and sacral regions, and followed on out to the very ENDS of nerves. Not so much of the joints manipulation alone, but following nerve ENDS, see? It will be more of the neuropathic massage than wholly osteopathic, though it may be given in an OSTEOPATHIC manner, not just USING the flexus and plexus in joints or in vertebra and manipulation from a center; but BEGIN from a
952-1 Page 3
center and move OUTWARD WITH the movement. Then the periods will come when it will be necessary to begin in the extremities and move TOWARD the body WITH the massage AND manipulations, see? Do this at present, as we have outlined; remembering the diets, remembering those of the solvents in packs of saturated solutions of Epsom Salts - this will ease the body. Keep as far from the sedatives as possible. These become necessary at times, but DO NOT tax the heart's action in such a manner as to destroy the WILL force, either through subjugation of nerve centers or of a hypnotic for the brain's reaction, for we must keep both the cerebrospinal and sympathetics coordinating. Subjugating either does not make for coordination.
6. (Q) How often should the massage be given? (A) At least a PORTION, or some portion should be given EVERY day - not TOO severe, but to QUIET the body, ESPECIALLY of evenings.
7. (Q) How often should the violet ray be given? (A) This should be given at least every other day in the beginning.
8. (Q) How often should the salts packs be given? (A) That would depend upon the acuteness of pain.
9. (Q) What should be done about the adhesions? (A) These we will come to when we gradually work the condition up to where we may get response both from the lesions and adhesions. The adhesions have been in the PELVIC and in the sides, we see. The lesions form along those of the 4th and 2nd LUMBAR, and the coccyx. This will be found to be turned considerable.
