Time of Reading 11:20 to 11:55 A. M. Eastern Standard Time. New York City. (Physical Suggestion)

1. EC: Yes, we have the body here, [954].

2. As we find, there is a complication of disturbances in the physical forces of the body. And at times the aiding of one portion becomes a detriment to others (in some of the applications for same). Yet these, as we find, may be ALL materially aided if there are the correct manners of approach to each disturbance; with all disturbances taken in consideration as they coordinate one with another, in bringing relief and help for the body.

3. These, then, are conditions as we find. And while it may appear that almost EVERY sort of condition is disturbing the body, the aiding of some will in a very short while bring relief, and make for the upbuilding throughout the body.

4. THE BLOOD SUPPLY, this is very low; that is, an anemia is apparent; not only from the loss at times, and the inability for the proper coagulation to take place, but there are those insidious forces that are in the FORM (not true, but in the FORM) of strep, indicated in the blood stream. That is, owing to the great quantity of that plasm in same for proper coagulation, and owing to the first premise of the depleted numbers in the red blood, there is often the separation that causes in the lung, the throat, the pelvic organs' eliminations, a great DRAIN upon the body. Thus a strain is produced upon an already depleted blood supply, and the form that arises from same in the blood stream is nature's attempt to produce a plasm in the form of coagulation.

5. Hence at times missing in numbers, owing to the depleted forces, makes conditions that are disturbing; and a little temperature, a pressure upon the nervous system through the sympathetics, that makes for irritations. And we have THEN a psychopathic as well as a pathological disturbance in the system.

6. Material aid has been brought by the relaxing of centers to aid in producing better katabolism. This HAS aided and

954-2 Page 2

is a relief often to the system in these directions. The metabolism at times is disturbed by the increase in the pulsation upon a depleted blood circulation. Hence those disturbances of headaches, little dizziness; weakness in portions of the system where there have been injuries that have never wholly corrected themselves, through the lack of the proper amount of influence for the coagulation. And at times, because of the great strain upon the feeling-necessities of activities, these portions tend to adhere. Hence we have, along in the side (as in the right side), a strain upon the whole system.

7. Disturbances are also indicated in the glandular forces, and there are tendencies at times for those influences that make for the formation of lymph clots to cause distresses; as in the torso, the glands of the body about the lachrymal ducts, in the mouth and throat. These are rather a STRAIN. And this aid that has been given in the katabolism of the system is that which has prevented these from growing more disturbing conditions. But these are NOT as yet, as we find, even tending towards the nature of setting up a factor within themselves or becoming malignant in any form. But their very strain on the system, without supplying those elements WITHIN the system to INCREASE the amount of flow and activity in the katabolism (or which is, of course, the ASSIMILATING system), causes this appearance. And these when aided should respond much better, and give much assistance in the body building up some resistance; as WELL as making for supplying necessary influences in the circulation - both the lymph AND the blood supply itself - to meet not only emergencies but to build up a reserve force in the system itself.

8. These as we find, then, will require - as we have indicated - a consideration of how one has worked against some building up forces; but under the type or character of application has been necessary, and has been at times the saving grace, as it were, to a strained system.

9. THE NERVOUS SYSTEM, naturally, the nervous system has found and does find itself under stress and strain; through those very emergencies and conditions that are called upon to carry IMPULSE when little impulse is present for recuperative forces.

10. Hence the body finds itself getting, as it were, upon its own nerves - and generally depleted. Naturally, circumstances without, atmospheric pressures and ALL conditions surrounding the body, have their effect. And stimulation from any sort of excitement, while it may aid, has its corresponding reaction upon the system, owing to the

954-2 Page 3

generally depleted body.

11. IN THE FUNCTIONING OF THE ORGANS THEMSELVES, as may be surmised or indicated from the general condition indicated in the blood supply, and in the nervous system, most of the organs find themselves working - as it were - at a high tension.

12. Hence these at times are overstrained in their activity. But as WE find, there is no ORGANIC activity that may not be materially aided, with the proper distribution of stimulation, with those factors that will supply the aid IN the functioning system.

13. There are some disturbances, however, that are of a deeper nature in the organs of the pelvis; where there has been a basis - or such a long standing disturbance that there is the necessity of greater activities for the correction of same. These, as we find, though, should be rather in the latter portion; although they (these corrections) are for the BASIC disturbance and should be given proper consideration - but not the MAIN activity for help in the present conditions, see?

14. These, then, as we find, would be those applications that would materially aid in the present conditions; though we will find the necessity of there being changes in the applications as conditions progress, either for the changing of the activity of the functioning system - as related to assimilation and distribution through the katabolism of the system - or for the effects had upon organs that HAVE been disturbed, or glands that are and have been disturbed by this general rundown, depleted system. As we find, then, we would begin with these:

15. First, we would use the Calcidin. This we would take in the tablet form, preferably. A grain tablet morning and evening. These should be before the morning meal, and before retiring. These are for a general effect.

16. Now, periods arise when these would be increased - and added in a different way and manner. About every fifth to tenth day, in the evening as the body rests, take another portion of the Calcidin - a whole grain, you see; dissolved, though, in half an ounce of warm water, and this sipped every few minutes, being about an hour in taking same; that there may be the reaction not only of the iodine upon the glands of the system but also of the calcium for ITS assimilation through not only the digestive forces but through the circulatory forces - as it is absorbed more by this sipping THROUGH the circulatory forces of the body. This will aid in keeping down the temperature, aid in making for a helpfulness through the lungs, and add to the activity

954-2 Page 4

of the glands themselves throughout the system.

17. Also each evening, just before retiring, we would use the low form of electrical vibration as found in the violet ray. This should be used with the anode that is held in the hand, RATHER than with the anode applied to the body. Take one day in the right hand, the next day in the left foot; the next day in the left hand, the next day in the right foot. Place foot upon the anode, you see. This is not felt if applied properly. Preferably lay the anode upon a piece of glass and set foot upon same. Take only for about a minute in the beginning; for it will tend to make for DISTURBANCES at first, but after the second or third day will aid in the body's resting much better - and a general reaction of the properties taken system through the Calcidin.

18. About twice each week we would have not only the CORRECTIVE measures osteopathically but massages osteopathically, that there may be set up drainages; and the stimulations that are not too severe in particular portions, but more of a GENERAL treatment from the base of the brain to the end of the spine. And it would be most helpful if the limbs are included in the treatment; that is, a massage under the knees, along the sciatic center, along the muscular forces from the knees to the ankles. The feet should also receive THEIR proper attention, but not too severe. MORE than a massage, but osteopathic massage. The adjustments, of course, would be in the areas from the 3rd cervical to the 4th lumbar, but gradually. And coordinate the locomotory centers at each treatment.

19. Do these.

20. As to the diet, to keep the body-building forces, we would give this as an outline - though, to be sure, this is not ALL the food to be taken:

21. Mornings - citrus fruit juices with a little toast; OR whole wheat cereal - as crushed wheat, or Maltex, with cream and milk. Coffee may be taken in moderation, but WITHOUT milk IN same - even though milk may be used in the cereal or even taken as a drink at the same meal. Alternate the citrus fruit and cereals, too; do not take both at the same meal, but one on one day and the other on another day.

22. Between the morning meal and the noon meal (about the middle of the morning) have a malted milk with the yolk of an egg beat in same, and a few drops of spirits frumenti to take the taste off of the egg. A full glass of this should be taken.

23. Noons - preferably either beef juice (that would be prepared by self) or vegetable soups, or tomato juice, with

954-2 Page 5

whole wheat crackers or brown breads or vegetable soups or meat broths. And change these at times to only fresh raw vegetables.

24. In the afternoon (middle of the afternoon) eat half an ounce of almonds; just almonds, you see.

25. At four or five o-clock in the afternoon, or an hour to an hour and a half before the evening meal, take an ounce of RED wine with BLACK bread, or BROWN bread; that is, sour dough bread or the like. Sip the wine and eat the bread with it.

26. Evenings - vegetables cooked in their OWN juices. Lamb, fish, fowl or the like. Occasionally a steak that is broiled rather than fried, and rather scrape same than eating ALL of same - see?

27. These manners, we will find, will materially aid.

28. After the third week, leave OFF the osteopathic manipulations for two weeks.

29. And two or three times during that rest period from the osteopathic treatments (but, of course, not when there are the menses eliminations), use a douche through or in the pelvic organs; adding a teaspoonful of Atomidine to a quart of water. Use only the pressure, or the Fountain douche, you see; NOT the spiral douche.

30. Also two or three times during the two-week period of rest from the osteopathic treatments, use the violet ray small injection - or vaginal injection - that will make for the enlivening of to the organs themselves.

31. Thus the next period of the treatments osteopathically (when resumed in two weeks) would be made directly for the lower portions, or from the brachial center down - and more specifically through the pelvis and the sacral and lumbar areas. And we may make for a CORRECTING of those disturbances through the area.

32. Do these, and we will bring better conditions for this body, [954].

33. Ready for questions.

34. (Q) What is the condition of the gall bladder? Do you suggest a drainage by tube? (A) Rather let's build up the system, and then we may use other means that - as we find - may be much preferable. In draining the gall bladder, unless disturbances arise otherwise, we find that this may be done in this way and manner - and this we would do at the end of the two-week rest period, just before the osteopathic treatments are renewed: Take in the morning two tablets of Zilatone. Take in the

954-2 Page 6

evening upon retiring two tablets of Zilatone. Preferably take these one day preceding a period when the body may rest. The next morning before arising, take a tablespoonful of Fleet's Phospho-Soda, in half a glass of water; drinking two glasses of water afterward. Have this warm, hot as the body can drink. Lie on the right side after taking, placing a pillow under the side opposite the liver and gall duct area (right side, you see), with the pillow in that position). And it will drain of itself through the activity of the Zilatone, or the influences of the bile salts in same and the activity of the Phospho-soda through same.

35. (Q) Are the severe pains in lungs and even around the heart part of this difficulty? (A) As indicated, the attempts of the system to supply necessary influences in the circulatory forces. As these treatments or applications are begun, these conditions will gradually disappear.

36. (Q) Do you agree with the doctor that the entire set-up of fibrous tumors and dry skin points to glandular upsets? (A) This has been indicated. Glandular STRAIN, and the LACK of the necessary influence in the system to supply activity through the glands. Hence the iodine AND the calcium in the system (through the taking of the Calcidin as indicated) will supply these chemical elements to aid, and hence will reduce the POSSIBILITY of these becoming of a tumorous nature. For if the system is balanced in its chemical reaction, these things disappear. It will also aid in the lung tissue as well as in the activities of the spleen, the pancreas and the gall duct.

37. (Q) Is this body a cancerous type in view of tumors and extreme tensions? (A) As indicated, this is a strain. If the body is built up sufficient for resistance, these disturbances in these directions should disappear. If tissue is allowed to become adhered, or if the tumors are allowed to form and then these become bruised, or there is the lack of the 'elan vitale' in the system to create proper coagulations, then such might arise.

38. (Q) Did the fall which injured the lower right ribs last year start trouble which is still evident or has the bruise healed? (A) The lack of proper coagulation has left this still a contributory cause, allowing a continued sluffing [sloughing] off or dripping at times - here as well as in throat.

39. (Q) What causes the breaking of fingernails and how can

954-2 Page 7

I supply the deficiency? (A) Supply this through the calcium as indicated. This is a lack of those influences arising from same.

40. (Q) How much of the many illnesses I have had all these years have been due to psychic or mental conditions? (A) These, as we find, as indicated, become contributory causes. It is the general depletion, and most of the basic causes arise from a nervous temperament and an activity that has arisen from the disturbances in pelvic organs. Do these as we have indicated. And at the beginning of the second round of the osteopathic treatments (after the two-week rest period from same), we would give further instructions - after the drainage of the gall duct.

41. We are through for the present. Copy to Self " " Ass'n file (See letter [which was enclosed] for Dr. Dobbins; see directions [which were enclosed] for preparing beef juice.)
