1. EC: Yes, we have the body, [958]. This we have had before. Now, we find there are some improvements in the physical conditions of this body. While there are still evidences of those conditions as produce in the system the tendency of an abnormal temperature, this is more from the condition of the digestive system than from other conditions in the body. The digestive being of such a nature as to prevent the proper assimilation of those forces as produce vitality in the system, the general depletion and the tendency of irritation to those portions of system from which eliminations are active in system cause the cough, throat irritation, pain in lung, and especially that near or about the heart. This rather the effect of the activities that are exhibited between the hypogastric and pneumogastric nerve supply. The hypogastric being of the secondary nature, this raising the pulsations of the body, though not a heart block, yet a condition that might either become the neurotic, or the tendency towards blocking in system, and from same producing that which would be termed heart trouble, or still overtaxing the respiratory system, and contacting those of the germ nature that would inflict itself upon the system, produce that of the consumptive, or tubercular condition. NEITHER of these exist at the present time, though both tendencies are manifest.
2. Now, to meet the needs of the conditions as are present, then, in the system, that of the rest and the inactivity has been WELL for the body. We would, then, be mindful most of the diet, and that that will build the blood supply, keeping the eliminations and assimilation near normal, and we will find the resistances may be so builded in this body as to overcome all of these conditions.
3. Be mindful, then, that colds or draft, or night air, are not over active for the system, or beware of conditions of that nature. Meet the needs, then, rather of the digestive system, with the stimulation to the liver and the activities
958-2 Page 2
of its functioning, without too much stimulation to the spleen or pancreas. This, we would find, would be the better active principle for same: That of the green ragweed tea, or Ambrosia weed. Make same in this manner: Gathering the ragweed leaves, bruise same, and then put, to 4 ounces of the leaf or the weed, 16 ounces of distilled or rain water. Reduce by simmering, not boiling, to 1/2 the quantity. Then add these properties as this: Simple Syrup...........................4 ounces, Oil of Sassafras......................40 minims, Pure grain, or 85% grain alcohol.......2 ounces, Tincture of Capsici....................3 minims. Shake well together before the dose is taken. The dose should be half a teaspoonful about twice each day, until there is the full activity from the liver, see? Then it may be taken only when necessary to keep up the eliminations from the system.
4. The diets, we would add plenty of eggs - raw, preferably, or with those of malt or beer. Those of liver, especially calf liver - at least twice each week. Those of the cod-liver oil would be well to take, at least a dessertspoonful once each day. Also olive oil in small quantities, so that same does not become rancid with the system. Small amount each day of Wyeth's Iron, Beef and Wine, will also aid and stimulate the body.
5. Use, as the rectifier for the irritations in the throat and bronchials and lung, those of these properties, prepared in this manner: Put 6 ounces of grain alcohol in an 8 ounce glass container. Then add, in THIS rotation or manner, first: Eucalyptol............................40 minims, Rectified Creosote....................10 minims, Balsam of Fir, or Canadian Balsam.....10 minims, Rectified Oil of Turp.................15 minims, Tolu in solution.....................1/2 ounce. When ready to use (and keep the bottle with a glass cork in same), shake solution and inhale the vapors deep into the lung, through the mouth and nostrils, breathing deep. Should this produce irritation or cough, rest - but breathe deep each time this is used.
6. Use white bread only very seldom, and whole wheat or those of the rye bread the more often. Few potatoes. Little meats, but the juices of same.
7. At least once each week have the thorough massage, either
958-2 Page 3
neuropathically or osteopathically. Thorough massage. Well, when such is given, that the body gave a good warm sponge or shower bath, and well sponged off before the massage is given. Do that. Ready for questions.
8. (Q) Should the body stay in bed until temperature disappears? (A) Temperature will not last with these administrations. Well that the body REST often, but well that a little exercise in the open, too, be taken. Seashore air more beneficial than mountain air for THIS body.
9. That is all the questions.
